People always have to point out that madara meant gai is the strongest in taijutsu. They imply taijutsu is significantly weaker than the other forms of attack. which really isnt true. Theres a reason itachi was afraid of gai. Is gai the strongest ever? no he isnt. but is he ONE of the strongest ninja to ever exist in 8th gate form? yes and theres nothing that says otherwise

“Of all those who have fought me over the years, there is no who surpasses you in taijutsu. I, Madara, declare that you are the strongest of them all!” He meant in taijutsu the strongest of them all, not the strongest in general, but it is still a feat for Madara himself to say that!
his past rival is hashirama. n before madara gain his past strength n his 10 tails form, no one except hashirama. n you see hashirama cant move that time. now guy has taken the place to be the strongest rival of all the enemies he met. even hashirama wont be able to beat him in that form without sage jutsu. that's y he said he is the strongest of all as a taijutsu user and as an enemy (he is stronger than hashirama that time

That's practically a win for Guy, really. Madara probably had some things he could've done with either the Six Paths or his Susanoo, but as it played out, without Hashirama's cells, Madara would most likely have died there.
