Hi Cliff! That was a great 3 day excursion on the Suwannee River. I'll have to come south and do it some time, perhaps next winter. Again, I'm happy to see you encouraging paddlers to help keep our waterways clean by removing garbage. I've been doing exactly that for many years. Thanks for sharing! đś
Hi đ Eric! Thank you for exercising the act of cleaning up trash when you paddle. Thatâs awesome!
My wife and I and another couple are doing this trip august 12. Iâve watched this video at least 20 times. Thank you for videoing this camping trip.
Tyler - Thank You for your kind comments! Enjoy your trip, you will have a blast. I am trying to plan a trip down there in October, so I can pick up where I ended my last trip. I would like to continue the trip further down the Suwanee! Itâs a magical place!
I have done from Fargo to highway 340 at Rock Spring Bluff. It is about six miles below the confluence of the Sante Fe. I have also paddled the Santa Fe and the Ichneetucknee. I have also enjoyed the Current in Missouri and the Buffalo in Arkansas. My favorite is the Hiwassee River in Tennessee. Above highway 411 near Reliance Tennessee.
My dad and I are planning a paddling trip, maybe 3 days 2 nights, on the Suwannee. I can't wait. It will be my first time!
What a coincidence, Iâm planning a trip back there as well! Iâm also planning this trip with my dad. Have fun, itâs a great river!
Thanks for making the river a cleaner place
After watching your videos my wife and I are considering this river on our next excursion.
Regarding your question about music, I don't like people playing music on the water. I recommend those who like to listen music to use headphones or earbuds. I like to keep nature sounding like nature.
Thanks for your comments Rob! Enjoy your trip down the Suwanee!!!
Such a beautiful trip . thank you for sharing it with us
Thanks for watching Incoming team James! In 2022, I hope to get back there again and continue the journey down River. Have a good weekend!
Paddled the river for 1 day in June 2021. Great expereince, want to do the overnight camping next time!! I LOVE this river and all of the ones flowing out of and around the springs.
Please let the dufus who said the spring was 55 degrees know, it's 70 degrees just like ALL of the other springs in Florida...it's that way year round.
Lol. I donât think I would call whoever you are referring to a dufus. In their defense, when you jump in these springs on a hot Summer day, they feel like they are 55 degrees! đĽś. But, I know they are always 72 degrees, thatâs why the manatees love them, it helps them survive the Winters, when the gulf and bays drop below 70 degrees. Take care!
This river fills my dreams. I'll get there one day. Loved your video. Your interaction with the camera is great. I prefer not to listen to music on the water or on my bike, motorbike that is but to each their own I say.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Enjoy every bit of your trip, once you get down to the Suwanee! Safe travels out there!
If youâre ever in N. Arkansas the Buffalo National River is place to go, it was the first river designated as a national river. 2022 is the 50th. anniversary. Also the Mulberry river is a great river to and is close to the Buffalo too!!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting Terry! Oh, Iâve heard a lot about the Buffalo. Itâs definitely a trip I want to take. When is the best time to go for good water flow? What class of rapids will I encounter. Itâs great to hear about the Mulberry river as well!
I did a overnight canoe trip from White Springs to Suwannee Canoe Outpost about 10 years ago. This year Iâm planning on doing a overnight Paddleboard trip from Lafayette Blue Springs to Suwannee Rendezvous. Iâm super excited.
SUP Jax, Fl - Thatâs great, thanks for sharing! I too want to go back again. Iâm ready to continue on from where I took out at Suwannee River State Park, then go about 3 nights further down stream....Safe paddling out there!!
Been to that rope swing many times!! Swift Creek is a great well kept secret! Great video đ.
7 days on the river 40 years ago. Your video brings back memories and illuminates the changes in American culture since that time.
Thank you.
Hello Yale, thank you so much for your comments. Are you still paddling, do you have any other trips planned for the future?
@@KayakCliff I peddle/paddle regularly in the SC low country.
Kayak Cliff, I just recently found your channel. Really enjoying your kayaking video's.
They are very helpful with the maps that you highlight and the contact information of the outfitters. Looking forward to the next one.
Keep up the great work!
New subscriber!
Thanks.
Hi Bigloaded- thank you so much for the kind comments! My only wish is that I could make more videos, mo re often! My goal is to eventually get to 2 per month. Right now, my job keeps me pretty busy (I produce corporate marketing videos for work). I hope to have a few more out soon, safe paddling and God bless!
Kayak Cliff hope your doing well!!!
This is on my list. But I will go canoeing, I like it more.
Love the fog over the river! Great footage, I've never seen the river THAT low!
I've only done day trips on the Suwanee several times years ago, renting from the Music Park where they would provide shuttle upstream and we'd paddle down. Always loved it...the sand beaches, clear water, and cool limestone formations. I have my own kayak now and a friend is putting together a kayaking camping trip there this winter, so I've been looking at videos to see if it's something I want to do. Even if I don't do the camping (just not my thing), your video reminds me of this river's beauty, and I definitely need to get out there for a day trip again soon!
Hi Lisa Marie! Iâm so glad you liked the video. You are right, the Suwannee is such a special place. Enjoy your Winter trip(s) down the river, safe adventuring!
You have to check out rainbow river and the withlacoochee
This seemed like a really nice trip, and the facilities that were available to you surprised me. I wouldn't mind paddling in your wake!
Enjoy Ray! Iâm definitely going back to pick up where I took out.
Best kayaking trip Iâve done so far was the okefenokee swamp. Camping on the platforms.
Nice! Brings back memories, love the rope swings and the springs along the Suwannee.
Thanks for the comments! Safe paddling out there!!!
@@KayakCliff yes sir!
The Suwanee is a lot like the St. Croix in Wisconsin as far as water clarity and tanins
Nicely done. The rivers are cleaner after you. Cheers.
I took a canoeing class in college about 10 years ago and our final exam was a 3 day trip on the Suwannee. We started about 22 miles up stream of the Suwannee music park and ended at the park. Great videos, as I've been wanting to recreate this trip with the fam this fall.
A canoeing class? I would have loved that in college!
The River will make you a Phd.
Thank you for sharing you trip on the Suwannee! We havenât gone but you have inspired us to go kayak the Suwannee!
Thank you for your comments Vickie! Enjoy the trip and let me know how you liked it! Safe paddling!
Kayak Cliff I would encourage you to try Silver Springs, Florida, it is truly amazing to kayak there! đ
Itâs definitely on my list!
Hey Kayak Cliff.
I use the UE Wonderboom 2 for my kayak speaker, it has a "Outdoor Boost Mode" that sounds amazing outside.
Happy Paddling!
Looks like a wonderful trip! Thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks for watching Ralf! Have a great weekend!
We havenât done this river yet, but it is on the list now!!!
Wilson, thank you for the comments, enjoy your paddle when you go...Thereâs like 110 miles of it to explore!
Wow because this is very good work! Congrats and keep it up.
Thanks for the kind comments rapidsplash! Have a great đ one!
You should paddle the Chipola River in north Florida
I have heard about and seen videos of that river. That is up in the panhandle, right? That is definitely on my bucket list! Thanks for watching and commenting and safe adventuring in 2022!
I love the videos! If you ever get to Iowa, check out the Maquoketa River, it will blow your mind. Its so beautiful!
Doing the Suwanee Oct 25-30, 2020 kayak or Paddle Board not sure yet. Last trip 1963 from Fargo to the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch with the Boy Scouts, 9 days in canoes. Give me your opinion on where to put in and take out for five day camping trip. Thought I would start out back at Fargo but maybe I should start out at White Springs. May be solo can't find anyone who wants to do this.
Hello Don, honestly I have only ever done the Suwannee River trip once. And it was starting at White Springs. My intention is to do it many more times over the years and launch at different locations each time. I would eventually like to explore the whole river. I hear north of White Springs itâs a lot more rugged & untamed, is this true?
You have inspired my wife and me to take this same trip in April 2021! How many hours each leg did it take you? We love your videos, keep them coming! BTW, what brand of gloves were you wearing?
Thank you so much for the kind comments! The longest day was the second day, 18 miles. We got up and weâre on the water by eight and we paddled till about 7 oâclock. Now, the water level was down low during our trip though. If the water levels are up, you will make the trip faster. My gloves are made by NRS. they worked well for me. I like wearing the gloves, because it keeps the blisters down and they are more comfortable. Also keeps the sun off my hands. My plans are to get back there and do more of the river. Glad to hear youâre going to do it in 2021, have fun!
Hope your doing well!
I love these videos thank you. We are planning on doing this in oct. Do you recommend securing your kayaks with locks or anything?
Thanks for watching and commenting. I think I locked them up one night and not the other. Itâs pretty safe. When I lock them I have a very long plastic coated
kayaking locking cable that I weave in and out of my boats hatches and around a tree etcâŚ.
Great video! I live within minutes of the Suwannee and withlacoochee. If anyone would like to team with me , let me know.
Thank You for watching and commenting @douglasfry I hear the withlacoochee is awesome to pedal as well. It merges into the Suwanee, right? Are there a lot of springs along its route as well?
Water is stained from the cypress trees
Good to know, thanks Renegade!!! I just shot a video there last month, love the place!!!
Loved the video. Just a few questions:
1st - Were mosquitos or black flyes an issue?
2nd - Is the water from the springs potable?
Thanks.
During my trip in October, mosquitoes were mild to medium in the evening. I would think if you were able to dive down into the spring and collect water coming directly out of it, that is, not had a chance to mix with river water, it might be potable. You do it at your own risk thoughâŚ. I was thinking the same thing as well. I think next time I might try to dive down and get some right out of the spring, then run it through one of my water filters, just to be safe!
To bad i live in sweden ...
Im from Dallas too :D What a small world. So glad i found your chanel. So peaceful & relax watching it.
