this song is an absolute masterpiece. to start, whatever instrument that is at 0:35 send CHILLS down my spine. i could listen to this song alllll day because it never gets old, the parts where it says "you are dead and buried, you. are. dead" rumbles my body, the rough voice changer makes 10x better. the little ghost "ooooo"s are really cute and/or funky. the lyrics "when we get your heart to start tomorrow, when you see the chart tomorrow, you'll be number one!". this song gives off incredibly spooky and funky vibes that (almost) everyone could love. 10/10 song i swear

the best lemon demon song 2:42- 3:02 is the best thing ever
I don't care how old this song is I need to vent about Cabinet Man for a second. This song gives me such weird vibes, It's a banger of a song but the dark undertone of the story really throws me off. So much so that I even googled the story of the song. And that ending, pure tragedy, it didn't take me long to connect the blood on the person sneakers with death, so I was almost immediately 100% sure he died. I mean at least he had a good life, kind of, and ending by repeating the chorus really shows that even though he is now dead his spirit will always remain. I get a really foreboding feeling listening to this song, it's a very well written story, but I can't tell if I am happy with the ending or wanting more of the story. I just feel bad for him throughout the story, so I guess that's why his death hits me hard every time. I may not have grown up with arcades but I feel this song also really expresses the era, both it's rise and fall. Also how can Lungs collect change, wouldn't they pop or something, why does this bother me so much, and how can he eat any people, like the maintenance men?

I think the blood on their sneakers was just the hooligans knowing something was up not that he did died. Some fan animation depict him eating those intruders
I feel like as he'd been part of the cabinet for so long his body had become one with the machine, so the hooligans smashing his screen just caused him to bleed, not necessarily die. He literally describes his screen as his face, which shows how long he's been a cabinet. Though he would 100% be thrown out by the arcade workers afterwards as he's no longer useful, which is a worse fate imo, left to rot for all eternity in some random junkyard.
Lol mistakes like this happen, don’t worry abt it. Honestly a mix-up like this kinda fits the vibe of the album imo.
As for cabinet man, I’ve always seen the ending part as going something like this:
(1) the person sees the blood and realizes what they’ve done, or at least that they’ve *messed up,* since I doubt they could correctly guess the situation and not just like, freak out when seeing an arcade machine bleed. I see the song calming down here as like a “oh shit” moment
(2) chorus repeats, stronger and more menacing. Cabinet Man uses the last of his strength to kill his attacker
(3) song finishes and cabinet man bleeds out and dies alongside his enemy
This song hits different now that companies like Disney are bringing back dead actors with AI programs

I just imagine a mad doctor with access to the dark arts trying to resurrect an ancient form of life to use a weapon to sweep the earth and through out he fails in increasingly comedic ways and as he gathers parts of animals and souls to try and stich them together to make something close enough to the original proprietor; from using hounted house, ghost towns, abonded castles from germany, and finally a little shack on some random cold destitute mountain he finally succeeds and instead of a soilder he trys to explain what's going on and that this thing had been dead, and after a moment (it being a animal, alone scared and probably a little pissed) he starts ransacking and destroying the mounting as well growning in size absorbing more souls and destroying the world which in hindsight is what the doc wanted however it was just without him. But that's just my thought about it
