- As a jazz guitarist and clinician, I'm often asked "what guitarist inspired you to play guitar?"....They always expect me to say Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass...much to their surprise, since I didn't get into jazz until much later... I tell them Randy Rhoads and his solo on Mr Crowley from the Ozzy/Randy tribute "live" album!

Sounds awesome man, nice work!
Thanks so much🙏🙏
Your a badass! Jazz to Randy Rhoads...love it!
Ha!! Thanks for the kind words🙏
That was so awesome🤘😎🤙
Thanks so much🙏
Absolutely nailed it brother! My favorite guitar solo by Randy hands down
Thanks, man!! Yeah, that tribute album is freaking magic! His sound and everyone improvises away from the studio version, it’s even better than what I thought couldn’t be more perfect:) Can you imagine what he would of accomplished if his life wasn’t cut so short!
@philsargent1 I can't begin to imagine the levels Randy would have taken the instrument to! He was inspiration in starting to play at 14, I'm now 45...and that solo is still my favorite to this day!
Very well played.
I'm sure it's been said before..you have a very unusual fingering..gets the job done.
Greatplaying
Awesome and then some. Randy's flame is still burning bright as long as great players learn his stuff.
Shredding on the hollowbody....LOVE IT!! You have a new subscriber😎
Thanks so much, Man🙏 thanks for subscribing:)
NAILED IT!!!! AND ON A HOLLOW BODY???? AAAAA+++++
If i had a quarter of the talent you have I'd be thrilled.
Oh man! Thats really nice of you to say. Thank you so much🙏
Wow! Totally nailed it. I've never heard that version of "All of Me" before 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks!! Ha…”all of me” with some harmonic reductions and distortion😂!
Sounds really good.
Clean and smooth!😎
Thanks so much!!
Kickass!!!
Much appreciated🙏
"Looking at You, Looking at Me" is a tasty one was well. Very understated and difficult timing-wise....
Wow, thanks for that! I just listened to it for the first time in a VERY long time and loved it!! What a great album!
@@philsargent1 might be the one where the bass guitar steals the show the most? So insane...
Nice one brother!😂🎉
Thanks so much!!
Good job man.
Thanks! Not gonna lie, it’s a blast going back to the roots:)
I didn't need sound. I already knew it by watching.
Awesome, thanks🙏
Hahaha awsome!!!!!
👊👊👊👊 Thanks TRILL!
Ozzy would be proud!
Too kind, sir!!
Damn bro u da man
Thanks man!! Much appreciated🙏
This guy looks like Django Reinhardt when he plays.
Your sound is amazing! PAF’s?🎸🔈
Thanks so much🙏
cool
Thanks for checking it out🙏
I never woulda guessed....
Ha! Yeah, I think most students think I'm kidding:) His whole vibe shaped me. Introverted, practicing and studying all the time, always searching. His interest in classical music then straight to jazz...and it's all history🤣
@@philsargent1 Way cool.
Sorry, but other guitarists outshined Randy but pretty good lengths... I'm very much a fan of his, but I'm an honest one... and you do great work there.... That's too cool.
Randy died awfully young and accomplished for you to remark so arrogantly.
That's Van Halen?
What guitar was that?
It’s a Gibson 336:)
Your pinky position and shape is unique. Really bent !
😂…along with the tip of my ring finger being cut off, I imagine my hand looks all sorts of mangled:)
@@philsargent1 you and Tony iommi are soul brothers !
Why you using your pinky finger two frets away?
Maybe he feels stronger doing trills like that? Or he might be a jazz player and is more used to using pinkie in complex situations.
Ha, I had to rewatch to see. If you’re referring to the minor 3rds like between the D and F natural in the 10th position..It depends on the situation but if there isn’t a reach involved beyond a minor or major 3rd I’m definitely more comfortable using position based fingerings. Probably because of my classical and Jazz studies.
Although, studying Allan Holdsworth certainly broke me out of that habit thanks to his insane 4 note per string moments😂
