Congrats on the win. I grew up in CT and my Grandparents stayed in J-bay. We would would visit there every year. I now live in Scotland and got back into surfing at 38 y/o last summer. I never really appreciated how spoiled I was growing up. This continues to give me a renewed appreciation for my childhood. Thank you.

Ever surf "The Spot" north of banana beach?
Back in the day before it was known or a danger zone... Great wave when banks are good..
I studied Biology in Durban, U of KZN, Natal Sharks Board, so I had knowledge which I used surfing and Diving areas others were afraid of at the right times. If you understand the behaviour you can reduce the risk. Ever surf the spot? 3 point breaks in a row, hollow enough to catch a tube in onshore breezes. Used to jump off the rocks & sit on board with feet on nose of board - johnnies. Magical secret south coast spot (I had local mates) no road access, bundu bashing to get there, but always worth it. Thanks for your channel, I wish we could have been more than pen pals.
