- The United Nations Security Council has observed a moment of silence following the death of Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi and other senior officials in his government including Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian. The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his condolences while the United States regretted the loss of life but described Raisi as a brutal participant in the repression of the Iranian people.
