- China and Russia have launched a joint naval exercise in Guangdong Province, underscoring the growing geopolitical tensions with NATO and the West. The drills, which began on Sunday and are set to continue until mid-July, showcase a range of military operations including anti-missile exercises, sea strikes, and air defense maneuvers.
The exercise comes in the wake of NATO’s recent summit in Washington, where Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg labeled China as a “decisive enabler” of Russia’s ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Stoltenberg emphasized that China’s support for Russia increases the threat to Euro-Atlantic security.
