  • Yasin Valley is a high-altitude mountain valley nestled in the Hindu Kush mountain range, located in the northern region of the Gupis-Yasin District
    This valley runs north to south, joining the valley at Gupis. It lies to the east of Ishkoman, at an altitude of 2,100 to 2,750 metres; the valley is wide, flat and well-watered, making it comparatively fertile, with irrigated fields on either side the river. he primary languages of Yasin Valley are Burushaski language and Khowar Language. English Wakhi and Shina is also widely understood.
    Yasin valley, historically, was ruled under the Katoor dynasty of Chitral. They, known as the Mehtars, were great warriors who fought bravely against the Sikhs and Dogras. As their disputes grew the British ultimately took control of the valley and Yasin became a part of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir.
