đŸ‡°đŸ‡· South Korea: In the kingdom of reverend Moon | 101 East

  • South Korea's Unification Church is no stranger to controversy. But it is now facing its biggest challenge yet as it prepares for a future without its founder, Moon Sun-myung, better known as Reverend Moon.
Reverend Moon built a church, a multi-billion dollar business and a massive cult of personality, and now he is fighting to ensure a lasting legacy.
The founder of the controversial religious sect is in his 90s. He knows that time is running out and has handed control of operations to his sons.
The church's business arm, the Tongil Foundation, will be run by Moon's fourth son, Kook-jin, while his youngest son, Hyung-jin, will oversee the running of the church.
There is, however, talk of sibling rivalry among Moon's heirs. The oldest living son, Hyun-jin, has been left out in the cold - a move that appears to have caused a deep rift within the church.
So, will the Unification Church survive without its founder? And just how influential are the Moons?
101 East takes a closer look at a family empire like no other.

@@chelseaagidi1266, you think you know all? Jesus what? Wasn’t arrested? First, Rev. Moon received his mission direct from Jesus Christ. Second, do not judge just by your limit understanding. There are things you don’t know. Even after 2000 years these things couldn’t be reveled about Jesus. One is that God want to save the world and not destroy it. Rev. Moon is the Lord of the second advent of Christ accepting or not.

Yes if you watch Korean movies you will notice how much they love their family and keep pure sexuality, also during Renaissance period they gave the world about 70 per inventions, and their king Sejong invented Korean alphabet that spread Christianity from 17 c...It is prophesied from Nostradamus and other prophets that the Second Coming will come from the East and the red beast will try to kill the baby that will be born.....When the pharisees asked John the Baptist was he the Elijah he said No, without knowing that he was the Seconf coming of Elijiah....So if a great saint returns to finish his mission it is His Second coming... That is to restore the second blessing,, all the sexual sins and hurts between man and woman should be forgiven and people can have the chance to get purified from family sins and creat a pure surrounding for the future genertion. This forgivencess and purification can be done through a holy spouse ....Now many churches and family communities who have received tha blessing and fulfilled neccessary conditions can help others to have forgivenness and educate themselves and their children

Parents provide everything for their children...spiritual and physical food, education in all aspect...to realize God, our Creator and Heavenly Parent's original ideal...Kingdom of Heaven on Earth and in the Spiritual World. I have been following them for 40 years now. They truly are the Embodiment of God.

Firstly, you would think that it would be a major priority to teach every kid to speak & write Korean. It baffles me that the 1st Generation have not learned Korean! How do they actually know what is said & what they believe. It’s insane that they would devote their entire lives to something that they can’t even understand! Secondly, when the first generation began having children, the children should have been/be enrolled into some kind of Korean Immersion school, just like hundreds of thousand children are placed in
French-Immersion schools, etc, in order to become bi/trilingual.
** In An Aside From This “Moonies” Topic, I find it so amazing that European Children grow up learning many languages. Every European I have ever met, is fluent in 3 -> 6 other languages, while many Americans only speak & write only 1 language! In addition, they seem to expect others in various other countries, to speak English. So many Americans, when they travel, appear to be so entitled, they actually feel miffed & surprised when the citizens in other countries do not speak English. How dare they !!!!!! Laugh-Out-Loud!!!!
My second observation about Americans who travel to other countries seem to think that their ‘American Rules/Laws’ allow them the same rights, rules, & laws as they get in America. There have been so many cases where travelling Americans break the laws of the country they are visiting, which results in them being arrested & but in jail/prison. For example, the city of Raqqa, in Syria, is policed by
Sharia Law, which is a religious, Islamic Law. This law regulates public behaviour, private behaviour, & private beliefs & is the most intrusive & restrictive (especially for women) legal system

As with other universalizing faiths, it actually creates a special role for Koreans, who function as an unofficial but obvious chosen race. Religious leaders and founders should prioritize advocating for equality, equal opportunities, and dignity for all instead of exploiting their poor and innocent followers for personal gain. They must avoid asserting their own authority or messiahship, and instead celebrate their followers as equals, promoting a culture of true love and equality. However, many religious leaders fail to practice the love they preach, leading to negative outcomes.
