Leading the charge in today’s video is Minegumo-an Asashio-class destroyer that served in the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Pacific War. She's also one of the stars of the ongoing Battle of the Java Sea event in World of Warships.

Can you make a new "How it works" for map spawning? I would like to know the WG game mechanics behind opening spawn selection before the battle starts. For example, why are ships map spawned are so close to other team mates? Why are DD's, CA's, or BB's not balanced (port or starboard) on spawn deployment? It appears they are all slanted in their deployment instead of spread out on the map for spawn deployment.
i think this is a great idea, and whoever came up with having player taught tactics promoted on the official channel deserves a raise lol

Oh god, please no... Hybrid BBs were bad enough, they even did a hybrid DD, why in all that's holy would we want bydrid SSs? Are you really going to sit on the surface, unprotected, while you're playing pilot for like, 3 minutes, is that really what you want to do?
@@BlackHearthguard Yes, I understand what you mean, it's just that France being my country of origin, I hoped to one day see our Surcouf in WoWs. But in fact it would be the cause of major imbalances...
@@toile59 I don't blame you there, she was an impressive looking vessel. I just don't think she'd be practical. So I expect to see her in the next 12 - 18 months or so :)

We won't make one for Rhode Island since we showed her in one of the previous Armada episodes, but we will make such videos for future ships!

@@WorldofWarshipsOfficialChannel Well, if this is the format all the Gameplay videos are going to be, I can say I prefer the more formal Armada style of delivery, but I am an older player and my background is academic, just for full disclosure :)

Dedicated mine layers of WWII had a speed of 20 knots. In WoWS you see them at tier 1. Most destroyers had this ability tho and everything that can drop mines is a mine layer. Today aircraft do this job.
Well the best I can offer you now is to play around with mines in the upcoming temporary Piñata Hunt battle type.

You mean destroyers equipped with dual purpose guns?
@@lightbluewaves5526 no, DD with good guns and good torps..
They can be played both as torps DD and gunboat DD
@@dhimasardiansyah8741 there are very few destroyers that can do that sadly, it's often one of the two.
However there is Velos that can do both roles, she has 1x5 set of torpedoes yeah, but they reload in a minute, are fast and do quite some damage while she also has 4 fletcher guns

gun 6s reload (yuugumo 5.7s) aa like umikaze and tor 57kts (yuugumo 67kts). Stupid balance
Minegumo also has a set of Alternative Torpedoes with 77 knots and higher damage.

@@WorldofWarshipsOfficialChannel Even though you're from WG, do you really play the game? Take Minegumo in Asia server and experience it. 6.5km in T9 for torpedo DD. Are you serious? Useless trash, you'll never use 6.5km torpedoes unless you're trying to sunk.

I’m on a Tier 7 battleship Guinesau, approaching the Tier 6 battleship UGINKORT point-blank and I can’t get into the citadel and, moreover, its barrage fire (PMK) is STRONGER than mine!

Buff alternative torps range and add torps reload booster
Torpedo boats only work when enemy are dumb and don't have hydro, and every BB has a hydro nowadays. Thanks wargaming
So to summarize, this ship sucks! Lets be honest. SLOW, so you can't spot or cap early or switch sides quickly on the map. GUN RELOAD is slow. So you can't get in a brawl with another DD. LONG RANGE TORPS that are slow and easy to spot. So if they are slow, by the time they reach say 13kms the ship you are targeting is not going to get hit and if it is on track, they will spot it and avoid your torps. TORPS are FAST and SHORT RANGE. So you have to get within 6.5km of your target and use your smoke like an Italian DD. Chance of surviving that type of fight... 50/50! Lets just say that almost all ships Wargaming offers in these "events" are not that great at all. Waste of money!
