Great video. Much appreciated. Just a warning, if you display that Luke x wing “parked”, after a week of two the cannons on the wings will be almost touching the floor as the wings warp under gravity. It’s a beautiful toy but unfortunately it’s not very sturdy as you know. Those wings will most certainly warp and sag until hart are curved toward the ground. As unsightly as it is, you’re better off storing it placing it on its engines standing up, nose to the ceiling. The plastic used to make the wings is just too weak and soft
@@julythrunov if that's the case, then perhaps I should also hang it up on my wall so the wings are vertical?! ☺ Did you see my recent video on hanging Star Wars vehicles? At least that way the guns will be straight with the line of gravity! 😉 👍
Yea I did see the vehicles wall hang video and I think it was great. For this particular x wing, personally I think wall hanging is a better idea. I really wish they would have created new wings for the x wing, as the wings are 22 years old (1997 potf2 fx x wing). They created an entirely new fuselage for it in 2011(trench run)I dont know why they keep using these old wings. New design and new plastic is needed.
So if I don't have a definitive Luke X-wing in my collection would you still recommend Poes over Lukes?

Hi Only One, I couldn't agree with you more concerning the Wing extension. I own 3 of the newer designed X-Wings and each is suspended with their wings in attack position. The flimsy design of the mechanics does not allow the wings to fully expand like the Poe X-Wing. It kinda sucks and because of this 2 of 3 suspension lines (for each X-Wing) are connected to the upper engines. This helps open them a little more, but still doesn't achieve a full extension look.
I have the red 5 p.o.t.f. One and that’s it! I can’t buy a lot on the secondary market
It makes little sense to me, Why on the Luke Xwing vintage card hes walking up a ladder to his Xwing, but the vehicle doesn't come with a ladder. Yet the poe one does?

That's the thing about moving.,re-wall papering. Hubby's done what you suggested.,he put a little "wedge" in there. Lukes x-wing is just another cheap repack. Poes is far superior in our opinion. Thanks Only One

I’m very happy about my x wing! Got it a few days ago in box never opened from THE P.O.T.F. line, but isn’t them kinda keeping with the original? That would explain the difference. They had an x wing to work from with Luke’s

I got the older Biggs version of the classic xwing and agree about the x foils . It's the same type of mechanism they used in the even older modern xwing too.. I'm eager to see the poe xwing mechanism when I get it at Xmas.

I agree that the lack of an update with Luke's, is a complete drag. It's still awesome to have red 3 and red 5 together. I have cut a small portion of the rim of a clear plastic cup out to jam in the mechanism and it keeps the wings firmly thrust open with not a lot of give, for when attack mode is required
Poe's is definitely a stand out as far as advancing things. Incidentally, what is your favourite Beatles studio album?

The saggy wings are annoying. You are funny Obi-Wan. Wish they had made a Final Order TIE Dagger too. Perhaps one day. Now really think Hasbro needs to fix that problem in the X-Wing. As the signature starfighter of the entire Star Wars saga Hasbro needs to make a flawless version of this vehicle. Happy to see that it won’t be an issue for Poe’s fighter.
Maybe a 3D printed clear piece of plastic to prop the wings fully open. Or just some clear plastic parts cut to the right size. Not opened mine yet and was really hoping to display it hanging from the ceiling at the new place where there will be a dedicated Star Wars room.

Great comparison! I think I still like Luke's X-Wing better. It's a shame they didn't fix the wing or include the ladder. I still haven't seen either one of these in the wild yet. No stores around here are stocking them.
Same here had to buy my red 5 x wing online cause no stores sell it or even the new vc figures where I live...

I make awesome ladders for all my ships! I have them for sale in a package deal with a ladder, 3 gun crates that have hinged opening tops with a foam inside you can imprint your gun into and a couple gas tanks. They start at 15-20-25 and of course you get more as the price goes up, but they are worth checking out! Now I won’t post my channel unless you ask for it. You have Paul & John down to a tee mate🤣🤣 You know the vintage battle damage X wing from the 70's & 80's had that knobly bit behind R2, that you pushed down to lock the wings. Cheers Only One🍻👍
Actually the Original Vintage, Kenner X-Wings you pushed R2's Head Down to Open the Wings, and Pulled Back on the little Button behind Him to Release the Wings. Almost Identical to the Force Awakens X-Wings, where You Push Bb-8 Down.

I bought the Poe xwing to put one of my black series in, after it was shipped and on the way I realized it was for 3.75 inches figures 😢

That's what's good about the 3.75 scale.... it's geared up for putting figures in vehicles. There aren't as many vehicles in 6 inch scale because for the most part they'll be too big! ☺

@@erickpuma1202 I have the Black Series TIE Fighter, I had to clear my entire Transformers collection off the windowsill to display it. It's a bit massive so an X-Wing would be ridiculously big.
@@TheMacKosh true, the bad news is that I not only bought the xwing, but also the Vader's sith starfighter (the repaint of Anakin's revenge of the sith fighter) for that same 6" Jaina solo 😅. Well I'm still keeping that one for sure

Poe's X-Wing looks off with the split between the boost engines...The X-wing Fighter is still the best... I put a piece of clear round Plexiglas in the inner engine of the X-Wing to keep the wings open and it works perfect
That Poe X wing needs to be rereleased with different paint jobs from the previous two films. But we need an underbelly gun just like the one Poe had from Force Awakens.

I have the previous Luke, Wedge and Biggs X-Wings, not shocked the new one is the same lazy flimsy wing design. Will definitely pick up the Poe one once the price is more sensible.

That looks more like they used a older one ...the Luke x-wing because it has the same issues as some of the earlier releases
It is just a Re-Release of the 2013 Biggs X-Wing. The Only Difference is the Paint Apps.

I just got My TVC Poe Dameron's X-Wing yesterday, and it is Brilliant, I Only have one issue with it. I noticed that You didn't Rotate the Rear Landing Gear on Yours. The Landing Gear Folds Down, then Rotates to face Front to Back, then the Foot Pads Fold Down. My Issue, and I've seen others with the same problem, is that the Landing Gear just Falls Off when Picking it up. Have You had this problem?
As for Luke's X-Wing it's a Shame Hasbro just Re-Released the Old X-Wing with No Improvements

Oh...ps, I've had one of these for Xmas, and remember you didn't rotate the rear landing gear when you pull them out ... I think they supposed to be rotated so the feet face forward 😉

Even though I watched your reviews and agree the Poe X-Wing is better, I still ordered the Luke X-Wing for my collection. The new Disney movies just don't do it for me. OT all the way. Nothing against those who like the new movies, I just don't think they'll hold up to history the way the originals did.
Shame Hasbro didn't make the Luke xwing as good as they did the Poe one! Especially with the wing mechanism 👊🏻

Good question. I.just saw a picture today of loads of Jabbas Palace playsets all over Walmart in USA! Chance would be a fine thing seeimg stuff like that in ASDA 😕😕😕 although. .. the Retro Collection did recently turn up.... still, I simply cannot imagine vehicles like the TVC XWings 😠

@@OnlyOneKenobi if I find something cheap... I may get a vehicle from time to time! But very few when compared to action figures! Biggest boxed ship I have must be the Clone Wars Republic Gunship which I got in Argos, I do have a soft spot for the Vintage diecast ships from the ye olde 1970s. Overall I am pretty absymal in terms of vehicle collecting- I do have Action Fleet ships, I have the huge Revell X-WING fighter (another Argos bargain). Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner...that I like the smaller diecast ships🎵I mean that Haslab Barge is just so bleeping awesome! 2008 Millennium Falcon is sweet to! Really you need to know one's limits... I just don't have the space! Still Poe's X-WING looks pretty sweet 😃

Sloppy on hasbros part id of bought it if it had poes mechanism plus that connecting piece on lukes xwing where you assemble it makes it just look like a toy thats kinda poopy lol.Back in like 98 when the power of the force released their new updated version of lukes electronic x wing with lights and phrases it also introduced that mechanism that works but is obviously outdated now due to Poe's awesome xwing.When hasbro was like lets keep this model and just take the speaker out and the Circuit board.I think they left too much room so now the wings always wobble and look like poop.I have never ever had a wobbly problem with my first gen electronic luke x wing the 98 or 99 version with light up thrusters sure it has stickers but its half the price and still better sure outdated with the figure but its still better.For someone who is looking for a xwing i say get that one
