- This event took place in downtown San Antonio TX. To be exact it was at the Alamodome. It was a training exercise conducted by the army. Aircraft used were the little birds and black hawks, also the gun fire and loud bangs were used to simulate live fire.
This was an awesome sight to see if you were in the area.

San antonion is military city USA. This is an joint base excersise. They used to be performed over on the east side of town just out side of 410. The new Amazon building , housing building, warehouse building and new overpass has eliminated the many acres of flat landing area. We used to watch them hover and then drop out the ropes and bug about from about 50 feet in the air. This is the next logical spot with flat surface. Alamodome parking lot is hardly ever used any more and is close to Lackland afb
They should take their sh!t somewhere else, like Cuba
It is actually the 160th SOAR training with SF units on how to conduct operations in a city environment. Only thing the surrounding military bases have to do with it are locations to store equipment and personnel and a secure environment to start the training op from.

@@ll2323 oh yah. I used to live by Palo alto and Texas A&m college. The f22 fly over in formation one after another. Some times they fly to low or are showing off and create that sonic boom and rattle the windows. Great views when the air show rolls in.

Why would someone point it at military, because their are idiots in the world. So much so that they had to pass a law years ago after commercial pilots and medical airlift pilots reports of having laser pointer being used during landings and takeoffs.
It's like the stupid people who buy drones and then try to fly them around commercial airports. Or in my city there is a very b8sy level 4 trauma hospital in the city. Park across the street with open areas. Well after multiple complaints from pilots being interfered with during landing approached on the top of the building.

Cool stuff!! I live close to the Mississippi, Louisiana border where the Stennis Space and Military base is and the Special Forces "S.W.I.C.C." Navy boats are stationed and we fish in that area and have seen those boats around there a bunch of times. Its pretty intimidating seeing a boat coming by with a bunch of green guys on board and mini guns hanging on both sides!! They will say "we were never there" but they're there hauling ass through the swamp scaring the shit out of the aligators!!!

The 160th S.O.A.R is amazing to see in action. I wondered if they also used little birds and Chinook during this training. The MH-60L DAP heli would have been sick to see. This is the most realistic urban training they could get. Stay focused, trained and ready at all times. Stay safe 🙏

@@beskarman38 because it’s not 1940 anymore. Structures change over time and building a move village would cost “us, the people” way too much. Making Nov villages similar to the Middle East isn’t too expensive. All that is are moc mud huts that can be replicated by plywood. By training in real world buildings and streets, you get the true feel on how to move and identify points of interest.
Ft Sam Houston has a giant Calvary parade field that is probably a mile long; Kelly Field the former Air Force base in San Antonio has runways on that you can land any size aircraft on, Camp Bullis outskirts of San Antonio has large spaces in which to train day or night helicopter operations. Not saying anything nefarious is at play here, but there certainly are many other options to train in San Antonio area without downtown area active night time ops.

Not really, they need the hazards and environment that area provides to get use to the hazards of such operations. From the gawkers to the overhead tangles, it's better to get it all figured out now rather than under fire. Also, all of this civilian footage provides a treasure trove of intelligence they otherwise could not possibly hope to generate. From new angles they may have overlooked, to the publics responses. All of it matters.

I was raised in San Antonio, and I never experienced this when I was there, but I did attend the occasional airshow at either Randolph AFB or Kelly AFB from time to time.
There’s a military display similar to this that’s done yearly in Tampa, Florida. The only difference is the Florida exercise is done during daytime hours.

These types of exercises are common in different cities. The people that complain about this are the first ones that WILL complain when incidents happen and the govt does not respond fast enough according to them. All i can say is GREAT JOB GUYS! We salute you!!
I think, when the time comes and IT WILL COME PEOPLE, they are finding the best locations to deploy military to the point that they have all the main entrance point to take a city quickly.

I been trying to keep up with them but they secretly going on with out any word. I'll be getting to search and video of possible. You can tell by watching the skies you will see some overhead flying by some type of patrol/ command aircraft flying in circles. They will also be doing observation of the exercise.

Crazy, lived in San Diego most my life and lived near nellis for 6 years never heard of or seen them do. Military exercise in a town like this before. What happens when there's training accidents and they crash into a business or a home? Seems risky all the way around.

So to point something out. At 00:24 the helicopter starts to go over. They didn't even hear it approaching until it was on top of them. Then they are in the blade wash and yet minimal noise. You hear the turbine engine. If you have ever had a small private helicopter, medical air transport pass over think about the noise. You can hear them mils away as they're approaching at high altitude. And then the Huey troop transport helicopter that is loud and very distinct. These are not just typical Blackhawks and little birds. The are stealth. Aldo notice to keep people from noticing they always have a non stealth close by producing typical blade noise to cover the fact that these helos are for the most part silent.
Agreed those helos are for Sf & Green Berets units which also comes along a possible CSAR mission for important personnel ONLY

Umm no, NOT stealth. Yes civilian helicopters and planes are louder.
In order to be stealth, you have to have more rotor blades, now a military reshaped blades are, yes quiter, not stealth, only compared to the civilian version.
You note the old Huey, the reason it has such a unique sound is simply this. The speed is breaking the speed of sound, the blades, NOT the helo. Thats all.
Put 4 blades on a Huey, no more breaking the speed of sound, again, the speed of the blades, not the helicopters.

What strikes me about exercises like this is how vulnerable those helicopters would be to SAMs and even machine gun fire if this were a real raid.
They would take out the Sam sites before the raid just look at the invasion of Iraq the us airforce had the Apache helis take them out

they aren't susceptible to SAMs because the helicopters are either flying really high in the sky like you see, so out of the SAMs radar reach. or really low, which is also out of the SAMs radar reach, because it's aimed it up into the sky

Blackhawks would never enter a SAAM network, unless absolutely necessary, although, SAAMS have difficulty with the low flying, but can still get a low lock sometimes, but with the speed of helicopters, they are so slow its beneficial as well because the SAAM has a hard time locking on, being its designed for Mach+ planes, on most designs anyway. The SAAMS would be taken out without ever being aware from 100+ miles by F-22/F-35 then all that would be left is mandpads so with 20 blackhawks you could easily land with losses of a few maybe, and gunfire is hard to take down a blackhawk, its fly by wire so it can take insane amounts of damage and still fly, as long as the pilot remains uninjured they can usually keep moving......Chinooks, my brother was a mechanic for those and he has pictures of Chinooks falling apart that made it back!

When I saw that our great military was coming here to San Antonio so was hoping they would come around to the West Side just so I can see their presence and also hear the sounds of the helo's just only things I saw or heard were distant sounds of ordinance as well as the sound of either our ghetto bird from SAPD or a Blackhawk. As it is, where I live by I would say 2 months ago at night there was some training at Lackland so on the news they stated that our Air Force were doing some night training. Makes me wonder what's going on in the future or just some training to get out men and women their boots warm so when the day comes for that calling they will be ready. Love our Military City❤️🇨🇱

There's been daily swarms of Chinooks moving from West to East over the Mississippi from Iowa towards Illinois lately. Yesterday I counted 6 of them, the day before 4 and before that 5 or 6. I could have missed some, but they must be for an exercise near here.

Why does everyone think the Army is training to fight their own families? They train for urban combat because other countries are more urban than rural compared to America.
