Also if you're from outside the US just visit the link then go to your countries page and it should work. I guess. I dunno.
How did I not know about this greatness of a channel?
Heh, yeah its pretty great, man!
Stephen Brehm You are welcomed into the fold.
Stephen Brehm It's the highlight of my week. I just wish there was a podcast everyday from them.
I've tried to find a podcast group to follow for a long time but the majority of other people have annoying voices, talk like disrespectful adult children, aren't very knowledgeable about what they're covering, are overly knowledgeable while behaving pretentiously, have terrible chemistry, make forced reactions to please the lowest common denominator, cuss at their viewers/listeners, etc.
It's insane how many bad podcasts there are. You have to dig through poop to find a diamond.
Woooo, a brand new wackadadoo!!! Welcome mate and grab that gem.
Bunny Rabbit oooooh get you
Sorry for your loss and pain.
Vanima Ephel what happened?
Jakeus 25, if you haven't already, go to timestamp 4:00 and listen for a couple of minutes. That's what I'm referring to
You guys didn't mention when in spider man homecoming when Happy Hogan is driving an Audi™ and he presses a button and the camera cuts to the dashboard to show that the Audipilot™ had been engaged as Happy Hogan says "It's amazing, isn't it?" Referring to the remodeled Avengers facility but implying he's referring to the all new 2018 Audi™ featuring the revolutionary Audipilot™.
This comment has been brought to you by Audi™
Sorry to hear your sad news guys and hope your wife is recovering and everyone is well
1:27:14 I remember watching the Wizard with my cousins on TV over Chrismas and it gets to that bit where they're playing Super Mario 3 at the end of the movie and the kid (I've forgotten his name, the not-Fred-Savage kid) flies his Mario up to a hidden area and we lost our minds. We had been playing SM3 that whole time (a week or two) and we never knew that was there.
The moment the credits started rolling we all bolted into the other room where the SNES was set up and we found that hidden area. It was real!! We lost our tiny little minds all over again.
Good times. :)
I like Tron, you are not alone, Mason!
Doctor Senpye Same
Can't wait for that rollercoaster.
Same
I just realized the segment at the end is called "letters" and not "lettuce"... makes more sense now
I spent half a year thinking they said lettuce until I finally out 2 and 2 together and realized it was letters. Lol
@@gilbertotoledo1421 Ah, the famous segment Lettuce, where they read all the letters 😂
Love you guys, I'll never stop listening as long as you never stop podcasting
Re watching/listening to you guys is whats keeping me sane after almost 7 months unemployed due to the rona virus
Another shit Monday made un-shit by this amazing podcast! Keep it up guys!
Also on a personal note, I found it amazing that James talked so candidly about the miscarriage, and with humor no less, but I know that he and Claire must still be devastated, my deepest condolences again it's a horrible thing to have happen. Best life wishes for you all.
MANDELA EFFECT!!! MADE UP SMALLVILLE MEMORY!!!
Owen Polley lemmino or nah?Hahahahah
The Bond segment....GOLDEN!!! LOL
Your not alone I love Tron legacy
CHRISTOPHER COMTOIS I love Tron Legacy as well.
Oooohh...so thats the difference between steps and stairs
i love listening to this at 0.75 speed. It makes James & Mason sound drunk. Makes me want a drunk Weekly Planet/Caravan of Garbage.
Love this podcast!
Der_Mantie agreed!
Der_Mantie
Weekly planet and Ricky Gervais podcast with Karl pilkington and Steven Merchant are two of my favourite podcasts of all time. If you haven't, check it out.
37:03 I was literally just opening the door for my dog
As a big Spider-man fan, I really hope they don't go through with this Venom movie.
I just want Sony to leave Spider-man alone.
I also hope they don't go through with any other of their terrible nonsensical ideas.
Sicky oh your a big spiderman fan who could of guessed that ( has spiderman profile pic) its a mystery hahaha jk
As a spider-man fan, I personally think this venom movie is a stroke of genius. Tom Hardy's Venom can be amazing on his own, especially against carange. And everyone bitches about his relation to spider-man in origins but it's going to be easy to have Eddie Brook find the symbiote on a reporting job
findlayD30 venom doesn't work as well with our spiderman you can get away with characters like scorpion and black cat but you can't get away with venom because he is true closely linked to spiderman from his origan and his powers and it also curs out on a lot of his character development with out spiderman venom becomes a one note character and he will just end IP ebin a cool looking minster with all of the depth taken out of him because a lot of what makes him special is his relationship to spiderman spiderman gets the symbiot first thats how febim can crawl on walls and spin webs and has super strength all of these powers venom has come from spiderman because the symbiot can learn new powers from his host so with out spiderman he can't swing webs he can't climb walls and he shouldn't have super strength. and also rushing carnage in there in his first movie isn't a good idea either because then you don't get venoms translation from a villain to a anti hero which is a very important part of his back story and development of his character and its important what makes venom an interesting character is he is a villain who learns to be good he isn't really good at it but every day he gets a little bit better to the point where he gets over his grudge with spiderman and they become friends and partners this movie is a disaster of an idea because your taking away what makes venom special just so you can be greedy and rush his story line venoms story is so big and deep you could fit a trilogy with of stuff you could can it the venom trilogy and it goes like this 1. venom: enemy in the reflection. this is the story where spiderman comes across the symbiote and it starts to corrupt him and also time to develop broke as a friend of peter who is also a rival at the bugle but do to Spiderman's action s constantly fucking him over they develop a hatrid for etch other and then at the end spiderman sheds the symbiot and it finds Brock and they have a big long fight ending with brocks capture and the symbiot exscaing 2. venom returns: the son of the symbiot use carnage bricks symbiot finds Brock in prison and breaks him out but in doing so the symbiot gives birth and it foes in to his cell mate Cletus casady the venom escapes trying to get revenge on spiderman but during this carnage is and they both senses something dangerous heading there way so they stop fighting and they both hunt carnage but they are both unwilling to work with etch other so they both try to take him down solo and they both lose because carnage is stronger then both of them combined so at the end they both agree to work together to take out a common enemy because they have no choice but in doing so they both go after carnage and beat him in the end carnage is about to kill spiderman so venom saves his life and they both dive in to a generator like in maximum carnage causing a Hugh explosion that put carnage in to a comma and Brock is no where to be found. after carnage is taken In to prison hooked on a life surport and then the after credit scenes reveal that venom survived and is now being a leathal protector. and the 3. venom: symbiot invasion. mix the plot lines of web of shadows and spiderman ps1 where new york is about to be taken over by symbiots and venom and spiderman team up once again to try and stop carnage and doc ock from taking over the world with symbiots ending I. Spidey and Brock finding new found respect in etch other and forgive etch other for what happens and wave the white flag and move on. all of this would be miles better then what ever sony could do with out it because witj out spiderman how can you do venom justice what is his back story what he just comes across this symbiot a d for some reason it bond with him for no reason that's pretty lazy the only reason the symbiot went for Brock is because both of them shared hate for spiderman and they both willingly bond because of that hate that makes them more powerful without all of this venom becomes a lazy one note character where all of his interesting motivations, back story and development can't happen and will make him more of a crappy boring character venom is a great character and I won't him to finally be done justice on the big screen so the casuals that only watch the movie can see just how great of a villain he is he has potential to be one of the best movie villains but because of Sony being greedy and can't wait for marvel to organically get to the symbiots other then rushing it and making venom in to a one note character with all the depth moved he deserves more then to be scene as just a cool looking monster a d of you was a true spiderman fan you would understand that venom without spiderman won't work
Don Birkinshaw yeah I'm not reading all that when all the adjustments are very minor to make him a great stand alone character
findlayD30 he doesn't work with out spiderman it takes away all of his interesting back story and development of his character everything about venom comes from spiderman like venoms powers come from spiderman his back story everything what do you do with out hi Eddie just conveniently comes across the symbiot one day thats pretty lazy venom deserves more then to be fucked up by Sony again he he's perinatal to be one of the best movie villains but with out spiderman venom is a one note character that is basically a cool looking monster thats it and thats lame
Regarding the James Bond suits (54:40), that tight fitting look was, and still is, fashionable. Just watch anything to do with fashion or Hollywood and you'll see pretty much every guy wearing what appears to be his little brother's suit. Or perhaps the suit he wore for his high school prom... 15 years ago or more.
I think it looks ridiculous and hope it goes away very soon. I'm not a fashionista and will wear whatever I think is appropriate. While I don't much care if what I wear is in fashion - though it pretty much never is - I wouldn't mind if a properly fitting suit became, once again, the norm.
Loved the callback to the first episodes when Mason would sing at the start.
@Weekly Planet - sharing sobering personal experiences that don't crush one's spirit with the community at large always ALWAYS helps people who are, shall we say, feeling crushed by a similar personal experience. Be well.
How do they talk about product placement in Cast Away & not mention the product placement of Wilson. A character in the film based on product placement, that's a bit of a miss guys.
Shit mate, I knew something was up as I saw all the messages of condolence but I didn't know exactly what happened, I didn't really want to dig around too much but as you mentioned it I just want to say how sorry I am for your loss. Sorry man, I hope you and yours feel better soon, you'de make an awesome dad and I'm sure you will someday.
He actually is a great father! He has a child.
What happened
They missed one of the most blatant product placements in Jurassic World. "Verizon Wireless presents: The Indominus Rex".
Thanks for keeping the 1/4 miscarriages in the public eye that little bit more. When ppl dont talk about things in our media, there is only being left alone. It may sound dumb. But it helps. It happened to my sister as well. Stay strong as is possible guys. Oh, & Mason: cool story bro.
Wait so was she supposed to have triplets but miscarriaged?
Sorry for your loss, Mr Sunday. My thoughts are with you and your wife.
The Pepsi product placement in terminator 2 was hilarious
I can’t believe James forgot to mention the 2023 Mario movie when he said Nintendo haven’t made a movie since 1993. Really dropped the ball on this podcast from 6 years before the movie came out
Dude, I LOVED Justice League Dark.
Now that you mention it maybe the start is not the best, bug I think they did a good job with all the cool characters that are in it.
FYI, The Granby is a wrestling move named for Granby Highschool in Virginia, USA. There's also a "Flying Granby" which is basically a flip.
The earliest product placement I remember outright was Marlboro Cigarettes being all over the first two Chris Reeves Superman films - Lois smoked them, and the had at least two tractor-trailers painted *fully* with the graphics in the Kryptonian Metropolis fight.
Us film-goers complain about the Zack
Snyder films (And rightly, I do as well for *multiple* reasons) but at least its’ Product Placements a) was destroyed mere moments after they appeared on-screen, typically by the Protagonist barreling through the at high-speed, 2) were 20-40 years out-of-place from their high-points as businesses (my “Dr. Better-Half” love a good brunch or “Breakfast For Dinner”, but Batman and Superman- based Pancakes at “IHOP”?!?, and 3.14...) the Indian Ocean-based side of the the terraforming device was one huge commercial for the latest album by _Skrillex_.
Wait, that *wasn’t* supposed to be a song from dubstep “Artist” Skrillex from the a Soundtrack but instead purposefully meant to be INTENTIONALLY Sound Design?!?
...ugh. My bad, Mr. Rillex. However, you can admit it’s easily to hear the similarities between the two, especially at the volume it’s pumped out of an IMAX Screening at, right? 🤕🔇
Nothing beats Miles Morales rocking a pair Air Jordans. 🔥
And another very good one is that Scott Pilgrim drink Pepsi Zero to symbolize that he’s not an ex.
Madelyne Pryor = Cable's mummy...not Jean Grey....................She's a clone by the way.............it dosen't matter, OR DOES IT?! WHO CARES?!
Knew this comment would be here. XD
I'm so sorry to hear! Stay strong man.
Yes!! Product placement pod! I kneeeew you had to do this after last weeks mention of multiple sponsers on one pod you're doing!
Do you guys remember the JAMES BOND JR TV cartoon???? GOD hahaha
Speaking of Tad Hamilton they worked at a Piggly Wiggly. I had never seen one before. I lived in North Carolina for a few years and shopped there just because I saw it in that movie which I love.
Sorry to hear about your loss, man. I feel for you. ):
Josh Johnson what happened?
Reese’s pieces are akin to P, B & J and tipping after meals, they just don’t fly south of the equator.
You guys should talk about What if Heath Ledger (rest in peace) was still alive and the Nolan Batman and Joker were carried on into the current DC Cinematic Universe. I think that would be pretty cool.
In relation to the Smallville superman scene you are thinking of its earlier in the season when he travels to the future and sees his future self who's more in tune with the superman from the comics . He has too save a plane and a helicopter with his future superman self
Anybody else annoyed that they mention Sam Jackson in Coming to America but never brought that film up when talking about product placement in films. One of the plot points in that film is the guy trying to avoid the copyright/trademark lawsuits from MacDonald's! Something like that, i'm not looking it up.
IHOP in The Man of Steel is the worst product placement ever.
Hmmm... In this episode James mentions that he recently was in a fight... The last Mr. Sunday Movies video started with "this video is brought to you by kicking a man when he's down". I think I know what motivated him to put that phrase there...
We had taco bell in the Australian release of demolition man, even though there wasn't any taco bell here...I just assumed at the time it was another three sea shells thing
From what I remember, Alien vs Predator vs Terminator takes place after Alien Resurrection. Ripley 8 somehow reawakens Skynet, which is now creating Terminators with Alien DNA. Ripley 8 then needs to kill these hybrids and uncover the conspiracy of what happened during Judgement Day. Also, Predators are there somewhere.
At 1:07:00. I hope they mention Evolution, where they defeat the final boss with Head & Shoulders shampoo.
MENTIONED IT AT 1:12:34. WOOO.
Do you remember the Pepsi product placement in the whole of Cobra it was ridiculous, thats when I first noticed it.
Highlight of my Mondays.
Justice league dark is decent. That dialogue at the start is a bit cringey and I get it cuz it's r and not for kids do it shouldn't be but the justice league ain't in a it much except batman is which is a bit annoying but the main character is John Constantine so it is decent.
for the 200 episode you guys should record yourselves doing the podcast, like the ETC podcast
Mason is not the only one who loves tron! #Flynnlives
A shocking product placement in the new power rangers krispy Kreme donuts is a part of the plot and the main enemy is seen eating donuts. I dunno if they mention it this is being written at the start of the segment
Anakin brought actual balance to the Force by the time he is done:
2 Sith = 2 Jedi
DONE.
BALANCED.
You guys should be drunk for the 200th episode
How about Disney+
Ron Perlman should have been cable!! Need to do a DC page 1 re-write and solve this
Fingers crossed there is a blaring clip of Defenders of the Earth intro spliced into next week's episode.
Best podcast ever
This podcast deserves more credit 😂😂
Samuel L Jackson's coming to America face hehehehehe
1:40:00
dont forget Wilson Sporting Goods.
WILSON!!!!!!
As Maso mentioned Lana Del Rey a Lana song came on the office radio. Maso controls my office radio through inter-continental telekinesis confirmed.
First season of Arrow shills Windows 8 by zooming up on the characters as they use picture unlock, and the "It Can Wait" campaign when a character starts to text while trying to drive away from an earthquake, and his girlfriend literally yells at him "it can wait". Pretty blatant.
man of steel and the kodak cameras omg
Woohoo! Best part of my week :)
I am with Mason on loving Tron-legacy
I’m with the both of you - my “Dr. Better-Half” got her first post-doctoral job where we now live just 5 minutes from an IMAX Screen, and that was the first film I discovered the greatness of a Thursday Night Screening (and most movies in general) in the IMAX Audio & Video Awesomeness. However, I think the animated show “Tron: Uprising” was even better: filling out how the Troniverse made it to where it was was shown in the film, expanding on how the different “level” of Programs work, and *amazing* score work by Joseph Trapanese, who did the more “traditional “ Orchestral Scoring on “Tron: Legacy” and in this does a fantastic job of mixing the electronics of “Dapt Punk” and his more traditional Orchestrated Scoring together in a fantastic way!
Give Justice League Dark a chance, it really isn't to bad. I'm picky when it comes to these kinda movies and I enjoyed it.
also i thought that alternate JL ending sounded badass
one of the best episodes yet. Salty Sunday is best Sunday, even better with Maso calling him on his old man shit.
For the non-Australians in the audience seeking context. Taco Bill was/is rat shit as far as ‘authentic Mexican cuisine’ is concerned.
Despite it’s Michelin rating of 3 steaming rat turds, Taco Bill would murder Taco Bell with a garrotte with it’s feet of the floor and spasming wildly as the life fades from Taco Bell’s insipid take on Mexican food x Convenience * Cost of living pressures.
I tried Taco Bell once in Melbourne, as much for the novelty of saying ‘I’ve tried Taco Bell’. I had maybe 2-3 bites of this snivelling toasted wrap with some cheese in it and a sad allotment of fried beans which punched above it’s weight for ‘most inert accompaniment in human history.’
I was incredulous. Full eye twitch… 6 minutes abs…. Teetering on the cusp of an irreversible Michael Douglas.
It occurred to me if I had been in America I could’ve gone and procured an AK-47 and come back to offer the establishment some Juarez customer feedback.
37:30 TRON LEGACY
so you bring up castaway product placement and don't mention. Wilson? he's a lead character and product placement at the same time as a ball.
Tshirt ordered :D
From the US, Taco Bill.... just blew my mind!
The Doctor Who tv movie had a long ass opening title which was in 1997
You know I love Tron legacy and love Tron uprising as well
Attack of the killer tomatoes 2 had some great product placement.
1:25:20 We (Australia) got Taco Bell. It was the first time I ever heard of it (or really noticed it) and I thought for a bit that maybe they made it up for the movie, but then not long after Taco Bell turned up in a TV show or another movie or something.
is there a megacut of them talking about tom cruise?
Are you speeding these up or am I missing days in my week? Well, I've a couple of hours.
Is it better for you guys for me to listen to the podcast here or via a podcast service?
hope youre okay, sorry to hear your bad news.
I haven't listened yet but I can tell you the most blatant product placement film. Hotel Transylvania 2. Every single phone and TV has a huge bad CGI SONY on every product. It was worse than Adam Sandler's vampire voice.
I like Tron For some reason too Nick! Yeah! Enthusiasm!
Would Homecoming have the same level of Sony product placement when it's mostly a marvel feature?
I cant afford the patreon early access this month 😑😟
13 ads. 13 ADS!!!!!
Cosimia there is 8 for me.
Cosimia I feel your pain, but these two are the only ones worth it
Cosimia zero if you get CZcams Red.
ONE OF US
ONE OF US
ONE OF US
Try youtube red.
Just listen on planet broadcasting then?
Gotta have a cam recording your #200 u better do that goatman
Mack Weldon is the future of clothing
Where's the UNICEF link?
We ALSO have a former pizza hut that's now a Chinese restaurant! Is this is common thing?
Worst Movie Product Placement: Apple products can only be used by the 'good' guys in any movie, so no chance of any twist or sudden betrayal.
Guardians 2's beginning shows ego's parked car with an egregious commercial style pan over a Krispy Kreme, it did not give me a lot faith coming into that movie.
Kyle The Guyle you clearly didn't see power rangers 😂
Kyle The Guyle nah it was Dairy Queen.
It was definitely a Dairy Queen, and if you haven't been to the midwest US, Dairy Queen is an *institution* for some people. Showing Dairy Queen as a hangout spot just helped the characterization of Ego, as far as I'm concerned. It showed that he assimilated not just Earth culture, but the local culture where Peter's mom lived. He was a "space man" trying to be a local.
I loved all of Smallville. The reason why i think it gets hate because he was never Superman. I eould love to see Tom Welling as Superman. Call it "Metropolis"
Bayne Buster nah the hate comes from him being bitchified every fucking episode with every colour kryptonite you can imagine
guess this episode is dedicated to the transformers franchise.....
IRobot is an alright movie
Mack Weldon don't ship to Australia. Got really excited. Good stuff but can get it to me. :(
Two Thumbs Up
32:20 Unwatchable is defined as someone who is not granted access to view the film?
It's the same as when "RUMORS" began circulating a few months prior to its release that Wonder Woman was "unwatchable- a huge mess- disjointed and discombobulated".
Just like unhappily married middle-aged women gossiping at the beautyshop.
.
