Lighting Up the Night: Installing KC HiLiTES Flex Era Three as A-Pillar Lights

- In todays video we go through the install of the KC hilites a pillar bracket and Flex Era 3 combo led lights. I purchased the kit from KC hilites which includes the lights, light covers wiring harness, relay and switch and added the brackets. The install was fairly straight forward, discovered after installing the brackets you have to take the cowl overs loose to get the wiring done, should have done that first. i was so impressed with the light output and the amber backlight is really cool. highly recommend them if your in the market.

How is the paint on the KC mounts holding up? I my get a set I like the looks
They are holding up very well, no chalk or faded areas, even the edges have held up, very happy with them, I think you would be too
The amber back light work all the time ? Or you need a separate switch for that back light?
The lights come with a three position switch in their harness, backlight - off - on, you could tie in the backlight circuit to your headlight circuit so they came on when your lights were if you wanted
So, you have these connected straight to the battery? If you shut the jeep off, wouldn't these still have power?
They are run through the jeeps auxiliary switch panel and tied into the jeeps main harness, in the settings you can select them to be hot all the time or ignition only, currently i have the switch on hot all the time so i can turn them on with or without the jeep running, i did that for my under mount lights too
Why not use your factory aux switch?
Great question, two reasons, the factory switches are a on/off switch and the flex era 3s have an amber back light you can run without the lights being on and i wanted to have that feature available to be turned on and off hence the use of the supplied 3 way switch, and more definitively the aux switch all have circuits on them by the time i installed the flex era lights

Why wouldn't you wire to you accessories switches?
Great question, I had already utilized all the factory switches for other electrical outputs so the switch that came with the harness was used. Hind sight being what it is I should have used a switching system like the spod or the garmin switchpro to manage everything leaving the factory upfits for other things other than lighting but it is what it is at this point
