Wow I hadn't thought about it in this context but I think you could be spitting straight facts here. Cause she's not an idiot so she knows that the broader audience outside her fans would rightfully tear her to shreds. But her insular fanbase under 16 don't have the cognisance to understand the rhetoric in the online discourse whilst also potentially being restricted by their parents in regards to what they can view online and therefore would trust colleen's "apology" due to that restricted internet access and undeveloped frontal lobes responsible for critical thinking.
But yeah, that's a really good observation and completely plausible as we all know how much she enjoys manipulating minors. It's all so gut-wrenchingly disgusting. I hope she has her day in court and sincerely hope the judge/magistrate throws the book at her with a hefty list of charges. At the very least her creepy brother needs to be charged for paedophilia, put on the sex offenders registry and never be legally condoned to speak to or be near another child ever again.

But to explain in a bit more detail I'll break it down a bit. He can't keep his story straight, was caught altering evidence to make himself look better, is actively trying to be the worst victim and make it all about himself, and straight up lied about context to make people look worse.
He has accused Colleen, Cory, Josh, and Colleens brother of being inappropriate and grooming him (usually saying so while the other victims stories are being discussed), and then backtracks on saying they "groomed him". He's constantly switching between "they're terrible" and "they're actually not that bad". The only one he keep a consistent accusation of "groomer" on is Josh (but we'll get into that).
He was asked repeatedly on many instances, in interviews, on twitter, and by other victims, for screenshots of his conversations with Josh (since he alledges Josh was "maybe even worse than Colleen"). He made up bullshit about his old laptop not working, and him not having the messages on his phone or new laptop. He has since send (phone) screenshots of newer messages on his old laptop, and of older messages on his new laptop. He also deleted a bunch of messages he send to Josh trying to get his attention (making it look like the conversation was far less one-sided than it was). It also showed that Josh basically replied to Josh in 2 instances before Josh send private apologies over these accusations (and very clearly affirming Johnny's emotions, while mainly apologizing for "misleading" Johnny and for the twitter account stuff).
With both instances being very short replies, and with one pertaining to Johnny asking for help and support with mental struggles.
Like I said, he's undermining the other victims claims, telling their stories as his own, claiming to be victimised by literally everyone involved. And maybe the worst things possible, said to Adam that his (Johnny's) story "might be even more important" than Adam's story. And Johnny literally said to a DV, SV, grooming, and r*** survivor that "Josh not doing it for anything overtly sexual might be even more disturbing than if he did, since sexual abuse is a bit cut and dry" (again, he said this to someone he KNEW was abused s**ually for years).
He also victim blames Josh for being the victim of DV, and stated he "fucked around and found out" and "deserved it".
And lastly, a lot of his personal stories are greatly embellished or reframed to make them seem worse. Like how he forgot to mention most interactions with Josh were with Johnny's family present when they "surprised" Josh at his work (in Josh's words "again and again and again and again", and in Johnny's words "a few times"). He also claims he was a minor for situations when he was turning 19 in the week it happened (like with his coming out accusation).
He also claims he was abandoned by Colleen and Co when going to meet them as a 17 year old at their invitation. He was 19, and organised the trip on his own, and the only interaction he had with either of them was a "oh cool that you're coming" public tweet responding to him being hyped about the event (which he already had planned going to that point). So yeah, actively misleading on easily verifiable facts.
And that's just what was verified by either recordings of Johnny in interviews, or by his own tweets and messages with Josh (where the full convo was there, because Josh provided copies of them without any deleted messages).
He has had some inappropriate interactions with the Colleen group, and some of those probably were bad, but he's blatantly embellishing it and lying about parts of it.

I didn't know about Colleen until she decided to gas the situation up with her song. My speculation is that Colleen is an incest victim. Her obsession with sexuality, her inappropriate behavior to kids, body checking and eating issues, her "self help book" with uncles shed (real situation?), her narcissistic superficiality, her brother's actions, it all points at someone with a sexual-oriented childhood trauma. That does not excuse any of the behavior though, she is accountable for what she does as an adult. Major victim turned predator vibes.

it's such an important thing to remember! I've always distilled it down to: "You didn't know what you do now. You couldn't act on information you didn't have. You can't expect yourself to do what you didn't have the tools to achieve." It's so easy to look back on things with your current understanding of the world, of that situation in question, etc. and get frustrated or embarrassed.
