Spotlighting the talking points from both sides is brilliant. Absolutely LOVED it. I pray daily for unity and an end to this division. I love the imagery of the light door between the two... "head towards the light" there's a middle ground, but we're blind to it.
This song from Tom was meant to start a conversation and show everyone how incredibly selfish and greedy we all look when we constantly bring others down with our beliefs instead of finding a middle ground! as someone always wants to be right! We are all feeding the negativity by continually shouting at one another and finding no resolve. It's very saddening to see how this world has become. Tom is trying to unify everyone by pointing out the double standards! It's a wonderful song depicting how everyone talks to one another. I applaud Tom for making this one! Freedom of choice is an illusion to an extent, and most don't see it. A perfect, loving, peaceful world would collapse the system that profits from our hatred. Together we stand, and divided we fall. The people of the world have to see this and understand it. No matter what you believe or worship, we should embrace love. That will save the world and end the dark system. Tom's cover art for this song was telling! You can see and feel the exhaustion and confusion in Tom's eyes sitting on that chair in the middle of everyone yelling from both sides!

I am a Conservative. I am also a Christian. I am not allowed to hate anyone. I pray for people in private and wish them the best in public. I tell them the truth according to Scripture when they ask. That being said, I would rather have a junkyard dog who does his job than a man who has to take naps and needs someone to take him by the hand and lead him home. I feel safer with the dog. He's not perfect but then again no one is. He will protect this country from Terrorists foreign and domestic. But he is a Politician and that's a problem for the little people in this country. We all need to pray either way for guidance and discernment.
This is an extremely long response, partly due to me being an exceptionally fast typist, but mostly because your comment hit me different than most, and I believe you might actually read this, and at the bare minimum, consider what I have to say, maybe even take some of it to heart, but that is up to you, I can only deliver the message, so..........
First off, being a conservative and a Christian is technically an oxymoron, if you truly know your scripture, the two ideologies are incompatible, Jesus would be rolling over in his tomb if hadn't rose from the dead, at what passes for a Christian in modern times, so far removed from doing anything Christ-like, and bringing politics into his fathers house and letting them take control, you wanna talk about blasphemy, look no further than the American Christian conservative.
Second, "If you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas", while that's just an ancient proverb, it's always reminded me of 1 Corinthians 15:33 “Bad company corrupts good character”. No brother, none of us are perfect, but that is no excuse to invite one of the most un-Christ like, evil people I have ever seen in politics (and that's saying a lot), into your house and let him make decisions for you and your family. His poor discretions , sinful ways and criminal behavior could be dismissed as none of my concern if I were interested in watching his reality show, The Apprentice, to see which soulless celebrity type got fired that week, and I could almost forgive one for looking past his bigotry and hateful talk towards minorities and marginalized groups if he truly could steer the ship we call our country in a positive direction. The thing is, he can't, and he won't, how will he protect us from foreign and domestic terrorists?? When his favorite people to keep company with, and do business with are those very same people?
Don't believe me, I don't care about the results of The Mueller investigation, or what the media distracted you with, his ties to Russian interests, oligarchs and their mafia go back 25yrs, and are so well documented by many institutions long before he ever thought of being president it's honestly quite amazing. He sold his last home, in order to purchase Mar A-lago, to Dmitry Rybolovlev, a Russian Oligarch with direct ties to the Russian troll farm hackers that were proven to have created tens of thousands of fake social media accounts to specifically pose as far right wing supporters stirring discourse in our election. The Ukraine war started under his watch, just google the Kerch Strait Incident, it was the first act of the war, occurring on Nov. 25th 2018, just another example how much he and the media, liberal and conservative, lie to the people.
Speaking of the Ukraine war, do you have any idea why we need to continue to support Ukraine, do you support our troops and enlisted men and women? If you think we need to drop support to Ukraine and mind our own business, then you don't care about our troops at all. You should really look into why Russia invaded, it has nothing to do with Ukraine, they were just a stop along the way to several objectives, which included doing the same to several NATO countries, which then means the U.S. and allies are boots on the ground soldiers in Ukraine, and more young men coming home in pine boxes with a flag draped over it. I'd much rather send them support by means of some money (which we promised them with the Budapest Memorandum, in 1996, a binding U.S. treaty) and soon to be outdated weapons collecting dust, rather than sending a bunch of kids to yet another meat grinder, how bout you??
His sheer lack of knowledge with anything related to geopolitics and foreign affairs, is so astronomically bad, that we are still seeing negative repercussions today from his first time in office, in fact he just proved in a statement the other day, that he still has no idea what a tariff is or what they do. His utter disrespectful actions against our service men and women, to his utter disregard for anything even approaching truthfulness when he opens his mouth, should be enough alone, without all his criminal behavior, un-Christian like, immoral behavior and evil ways, to completely reject him.
I am so disgusted by the two pathetic choices our country sadly offers us citizens, while normally I wouldn't vote for a brain dead, senile old man to run the country I love, I must be guided by my gut, which is guided by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and my gut knows evil when it sees evil, my gut is not fooled by rhetoric or scared by fear mongering propaganda. Biden is a lot of awful things politically, but he goes to church every Sunday, and he doesn't take his politics with him, and he doesn't bring his church to work with him. There's lots of things I would have done way different, and the president doesn't control a lot of things that happen while in office, but they sure get credit or blame for them. Under Brandon inflation has come down, unemployment is at record lows, crime is way down despite all the media lies, last month Wal Street and the Dow Jones hit several record high marks, gas prices were way down, but still manageable, and he somehow managed to invest in renewable energy projects and infrastructure more than any other sitting president, while not completely upsetting big oil, allowing new drilling to occur, and increased our oil production here at home to far higher numbers than previous administrations, increasing our global power as a net exporter, making us less dependent on the middle east.
Everything I stated is said with many hours of research of easily found and well documented information that is not tied to any 24hr cable news or corporate network news organization, and I am EXTREMELY confident in it's legitimacy, but I still challenge you to dispute it if you doubt it, after all, I'm just a random no face person online, I wouldn't blame you for doubting me, but do that research properly, just don't go peaking through your own echo chamber, I was guilty of that myself for many years, it only leads to self reinforcement of false beliefs and false prophets brother. I won't compare it to being saved and recognizing the power and love of our Lord and Savior, but when I finally pulled the curtain back, it was pretty profound, and scary, there's many times I've wished I could go back to simpler ideologies, where everything was black or white, good or bad, but that's not the world the Lord provided us for now, it's a very grey world with lots of nuisance and confusing pit falls.
I imagine you've always known our lives are sort of a test, to see if we're worthy of his love right? If we're worthy to sit at his right hand someday in heaven. Do you think flipping the merchant tables in the square was easy for Jesus, do you think being dragged through town carrying a cross, getting spit on and having rocks hurled at you wasn't humiliating, people you've known and loved all your life looking at you like you're a traitor. Do you really think fighting the good fight here on Earth is as easy as wearing a red hat, and supporting a politician that everyone in your circle supports, one which allows people to justify their worst behavior because dear leader is doing it, and all your friends and family love him.
Do you see my brother where I'm going with this, why I took the time to ramble so many paragraphs, because I believe you're worth hearing what I have to save, I believe you have good in you and will get my message. That's it, no fluff, nothing fancy to see, and I ask nothing in return except an open mind, and that I simply want a better world for my kids and their kids, and I will talk till I'm blue in the face and fill up as many comment sections as I can, if i can help that happen even a tiny bit. @@sunshynff That was indeed long and I disagreed with a few points. Most of the Christianity that is so persuasive in this country is not classical Christianity. It is false. This country and world has been judged by God so we can't expect a Christian in the White House. To be perfectly clear, I am a Conservative because I am a Christian. Scripture is very Conservative and exclusive. Scripture is not Liberal and does not worry about DEI. We are all sinners and without Christ we have no hope. Without Christ there is chaos. This country is a ball of chaos. I wish we could go innocently with Romans 13, and I do in so much as it goes with other Scriptures. I follow the laws but I also believe in objective truth. I believe in logic and reason. I do support our Troops and I'm Patriotic. I believe in honoring the people who gave their lives for our freedom. I just know that I, personally, wish for world peace. I know it won't happen while we live in a fallen world. I just think that if it doesn't affect our country physically then we don't need to be in it.

All I'll add is a suggestion you read scripture with a more open mind, it is far from conservative, It's not liberal either, God's word is not bound by the constraints of our petty political spectrum. However, when it comes to laws and such, they come from the moral laws of Scripture. Christ would not be a leftie or whatever. You either have a very different idea of who Jesus Christ is, or very poor understanding of the meaning of the word woke. It is a word pretty much exclusively used by people of color since about 1904, to describe being actively involved with your community, and opening your eyes to the oppression and systemic racism this nation was built on. It was a word to be proud of, it meant you stood for what was right, and against what was wrong, this was a word coined and used by God fearing people for over 100yrs, until it was stolen by right wing talking heads, and used as a slur word towards anything they didn't like.
So I know with every fiber of my soul, and every molecule in my bones, that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, is the wokest, most pure righteous being that has ever been or ever will be.
