  • Decided to try something a little different here in how I present what I build and make.
    Jaune Arc has always been on my list of characters to cosplay. He goes through some amazing character development and has the most notable evolution through the series. This was a relatively cheap build as I had most of the foam already, I really just needed to purchase paint and fabric. I made the armor pieces, the hoodie, sash, and weapons. The wig was purchased from Arda Wigs at their booth for ACEN '18. The rest were just daily street clothes. :)

    Amazing, ive been looking for a video like this forever, I have a con coming up in may and I'm panicking! Any tips for a first time armor builder?

    What was the narrow yellow tape that you used to prevent the spray from bleeding around the edges of the blue tape?

    How you get the zipper on?

      @FirstStarvenger  Před 5 lety +1

      I sanded down the foam a little bit to expose the raw foam then I just used contact cement to attach the zipper. Worked out pretty well, so far it's still holding :)

    You say you used wood and pvc pipes.. what for? All I saw were the foam, glue and paint.

      The blade of the sword was wood and the handle was PVC. Unfortunately, none of that was filmed due to it being made at 3am the night before the con lol. I'm remaking it as soon as I have some free time, that's for sure.

    What are the black strips?

    • @FirstStarvenger
      @FirstStarvenger  Před 5 lety

      The black stips that eventually became the gold detailing? Those were just sheets of foam that I cut into strips then attached with contact cement. It was very tedious to put on and then paint lol.

    Would it be possible to do without a Mannequin torso

    • @FirstStarvenger
      @FirstStarvenger  Před 5 lety

      Oh for sure! My mannequin torso is just somewhat close to me in size, with only one or two measurements off, so it's easy to use. If you want to have your own without dropping the cash, look up here on youtube how to make a duct tape mannequin. You could always try to find templates for body armor from other creators as well and modify from there. :)

    What did you do for the shield?

    • @FirstStarvenger
      @FirstStarvenger  Před 6 lety

      In all honesty, the shield was just a repaint of an older prop that I built about 2 years ago. It's just EVA foam with a sheet of polystyrene glued to it to make it a bit stronger and easier to deal with when painting. The same result could be done with floormat foam and really thin wood from a craft store or construction store :)

      Cool. That's what I was guessing, but it's always nice to find out for sure :)
      The whole build looks great by the way. Thanks for the video and response!
