- “I’m with the economy tour.” Bond (Roger Moore) is hunted by Kamal Khan (Louis Jourdan) in the jungle in OCTOPUSSY (1983) which was filmed in the Maharani of Udaipur’s overgrown garden. The scene was inspired by a short story, The Most Dangerous Game, where a man arrives on an island and is told by the host that they’d like to go hunting and he’s the quarry.
- Krátké a kreslené filmy
The comment about the economy tour is one of the best one-liners in the entire series.
I can't even think to imagine Daniel Craig doing the tree swinging with Tarzan yell and the tiger sit scenes. Only Moore has the chops to do it.
It is likely a body double (not Roger Moore) doing the acrobatic stunts such as tree swinging, I don’t think Roger Moore is as athletic as Daniel Craig.
Although I admit Roger Moore has more of the ‘class’ of James Bond than DC. RM is also a better actor than DC.
@@syedharisahmed2982 - - I know that was a stunt double. My point was the portrayal of a campy, comic James Bond doesn't fit Craig but fits Moore perfectly.
Brosnan could've pulled it off
@@sergs1963 Roger Moore Don't forget also did serious as well, Like in The Man with the Golden Gun he smacks a woman , and in For your Eyes Only he, kicks a man off a cliff who is in a car which is so cold and daRK
According to the DVD comments, director John Glen says this was actually filmed on the grounds of the Maharaja of Udaipur's estate in Udaipur, India. He had a sort of unused garden behind his house. Which proved ideal for filming this sequence.
THATS HIS GARDEN! LIKE WOW..🍷
Yes, if you pay attention to the plants you'll recognize banana trees and other garden/farm crops.
The tiger which charges at Bond also belonged to the Maharaja. . .except it was a stuffed one, yes?
I wonder whose idea it was for him to swing on the vines while doing the literal Tarzan yell.
@Michael F. Tommey I'd call it an All Time High.
Comedy thing.
Must have been Cristina Aguilera in her song "Candyman".
I don't think he's actually doing the yell - I think that's just 'background effect' - much as the swanee whistle is in MWTGG.
I found it hilarious
For a fun and silly movie, this whole scene was actually pretty tense
This scene is comedy gold. "Sit-uh!" "Hiss off!" "I'm with the economy tour." The Tarzan howl.
My favorite moment is at 1:59, when Bond just casually kicks that one guy in the shins while the others just stand there watching. Yeah, don't shoot him, just let him run away. We need that Tarzan scene to happen next!
Hahaha. Exactly: they were waiting for a cue from Gobinda.
Tiger: Oh shit mr Bond I'm sorry I didn't know it was you, carry on.
😂
Jungle Book: Bond is like Mowgli he tells Shere Khan to sit, and then he tells Kaa to piss off.
Hahaha.
The tiger used to watch "The Saint" and "The Persuaders" on ITV so he let Roger Moore go...
Meanwhile, I thought the snake was like: "Oh, excuse me, just passing through." 😂
I think one of the great things about the Bond franchise is the way it's kept reinventing itself - it's meant that (a) people haven't got bored with it and (b) it appeals to a lot of different audiences. With any Bond film (or actor) there will be people who like it and people who don't. Personally I'm not a big fan of the Craig films (although Skyfall was pretty good) but I know other people think they're the best and that's fine. For me, I'd rather watch the Moore-era silliness than watch someone being whipped naked on a wicker chair or having his skull drilled into.
You've got a great point there! I concur with you completely! Moore's films although a little unrealistic, were fun and a pleasure to watch.
Moore's era was more Adventure than action or spies.
it was more family friendly I guess.
Pierce brosnan greatest bond ever.
Moore’s films are pure escapism and great fun. Like yourself I’d rather watch these classic bond films.
If I want to watch more realistic gritty spy films I’d rather watch the Bourne series.
you forgot , died scratching my balls part 🤣🤣
The economy tour looks exciting
I'm not a big Moore fan, but I must admit, that's the best line from all his movies "Are you with the tour?" "No ma'am I'm with the economy tour" I crack up ever single time I hear it. Cheesy yes, but very funny.
@@robertkees6048 i dont think its cheesy at all. I think its a great way of showcasing class differences with wit
He told the snake to hiss off? :))
he sssure did ssssir! :D
Rest in peace james
Roger Moore the most comical bond ever we have witnessed 😂.
The story I heard is that the tiger got too close to Roger Moore and in an act of desperation Roger said "Sit"
And darn if the cat actually did!
So they left it in the movie.
That is a myth.
@@trueblue6201 My source was American Cinematographer Magazine. I believe that's where I read that.
You see, Roger is so charming even the tiger listens to him!
Actually it is a reference to Barbara Woodhouse who had a dog training programme on British television, where she could make any dog sit by holding up her finger and saying, ;'Sit' in a high pitched voice, just like Roger Moore does. it would have been lost on american audiences.
Anyone else would have left their shoes behind... after taking to their heels fast!
brought to you by the Indian Tourism Board
No
India tourism no need mr bond
Never seen anything like this here
@@rajendra.singhhundal6685 but Mr bond need Indian tourism
@@rajendra.singhhundal6685 Youre right.
Who wants to live in your trash country anyway when we already have trashcan to lift the trash there.
This is what I loved about Roger Moore's run as 007. His films were campy, but fun, and they were peppered with references to other films, from Lawrence of Arabia to Tarzan.
Mr Bond is indeed a very rare breed, soon to be made extinct.
I love Louis Jourdan's delivery of that line. One of the best Bond villains ever.
You have a nasty habit of surviving.
Sounds like Phoebe Waller Bridge and Lashana Lynch talking lol
Those spiders and webs look like something they picked up at Spirit Halloween store.
and then Kamal said "Mr Bond has a very bad habit of escaping"
Kabir Bedi brilliant Indian actor from Bollywood
Here’s the famous Tarzan yell when Roger Moore swings up in the trees
The Wilhelms Scream was missing though.
Yeah I know
The best bond funny and serious!!!!!
I've done a fair bit of trekking and wild life exploration but never have I seen all these creatures together in a natural environment. Guess I'm not James Bond 😂😂
What does "Pirapala Sampiyan" mean?
@@akiladesilva7422 huh?
Wait wha
@@akiladesilva7422 ha ha u can read it but can't understand it? Prabala means famous and it's not sampiyan it's champion. My name means famous cheating champion.
@@cheating39 well yes....can read but cant understand
I like the way the tiger sit after James Bond instructed this carnivore to sit after sounding a growling
One of many famous James Bond puns.
Woman: Are you with our group?
James Bond: No ma'am I'm with the economy tour.
Bond got lucky a croc didn't attack him heading for the boat
“SIT-UH” 0:44
I love that part.
Lmao. So fkg cheesy
Hilarious look on his face while saying it.
A parody of the dog trainer Barbara Woodhouse, well-known to British TV audiences at the time.
@@lonegroover And James Bond is also British which means he got plenty of telly-time.
0:44 Sit! Love it when Roger tells the tiger to sit.
Barbara Woodhouse was a British dog trainer, author, horse trainer and television personality. Her 1980 television series Training Dogs the Woodhouse Way made her a household name. Among her catch phrases were "walkies" and "sit!" She was also known for her "no bad dogs" philosophy.
British audiences got the joke !
@@kayharker712 Yeah I got the joke since I'm British, I just love it when Roger said it.
James Bond and the Temple of Doom.
A great actor, only Moore could pull of such stunts with humor. If others did the same, it would look stupid.
Generally I'd agree, but I can picture Connery pulling off this scene just as well, with the economy tour quip, but without the Tarzan yell.
@@nkt1 yeah.. Connery is good too. But for me, Moore has a slight edge. Perhaps because I was born in the late 70s and so more connected to Moore.
@@oreofeidowu9365 well.... On certain occasions i agree he went a bit overboard in comedy. But films like moonraker, the spy who loved me were flawless.
Crocodile Dundee loved that movie !
Octopussy is a fantastic Bond film! Its even my second favourite of them all just behind GoldenEye! Many people rank it low out of pure lazyness because they dont like 2:32. This tarzan swing only lasts 5 damn seconds. Thats absolutely not a reason to put a 130 minute, plotwise dark, fun, action-packed, stunt-packed, beautifully photographed, well working, down to earth, realistic spy thriller at the bottom. That would be like placing Licence To Kill at the bottom because of the winking fish at the end. Wouldnt that be lazy too? Plus this film has the best line up of henchmen in the series with the Knife Twins, Gobinda and the Indian Yo-yo saw killers! This is fantastic Bond film hands down! Easily the most overlooked and underrated one in the series.
I feel like you’re straw-manning a bit here, stating that many people dislike the film for that one Tarzan swing. The people who didn’t like the film, felt that the film went too far into the camp and comedy, to the point where the film felt like a parody. Not just in this sequence, but throughout the film also.
No, the entire film was dated. Even for 1983 this was dated. It seemed like a movie from the mid 60s.
I love this movie too.
After "Live and Let Die" and "The Spy Who Loved Me", this would be my third best film of the Roger Moore James Bond era. And of course "Moonraker".
I don't know whether to put "Octopussy" or "Moonraker" at #3. Both are so good.
Completely agree. It's the most underrated bond movie ever and undeniably better than never say never again.
Bengal tiger
5
It's too easy to command the tiger?
So he is attacked by:
Tiger
Spiders
Snake
Leeches
Crocodile
Considering how silly each scene was.together with the tarzan act, not mamy realize that the animals are a bit too many hahaha
Actually he was only attacked by the leech.
Bond becomes tarzan🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Comedy 007
Roger Moore todo un ícono del cine. Q. E. P. D. vuele alto maestro.
That's my favoutite scene in "Octopussy". I really like this movie. And Roger ist great. He ist my second favourite James Bond, after Daniel Craig.
1:23 Looks like an early Mauser-action Weatherby. Nice.
The last part was cut...
Kamal: "Bond is of a rare breed soon to be extinct".....😁
2:31 Johnny Weissmuller’s Tarzan Yell
This is a re-up. What happened to the first one?
Rifles with scopes, but shooting without taking aim. LOL
Róger Moore és el mejor James Bond de todos los tiempos, és insuperable increíble el mejor James Bond de todos ellos
The tarzen yell did not get any groans in the cinema. I didn't mind it.
The biggest reaction was when the lion actually did sit down.
@adamscollins915 tiger, Adam, it was a 🐅 tiger he told to sit , not a 🦁 lion
this is like the temple of doom
It's quite different from the modern James Bond movie style.
Totally comedy secret agent movie.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
But this is interesting and good.
James Bond movies have various James Bond styles, incorporating international situations depending on the era.
Roger had fun with Bond, and (speaking for myself) We loved him for it..Can't take any more depressing Craig movie's, even the in the new poster he's a sad looking twat..reboot again this time set it in the 60s
Nice name, do you mind sitting up front Mr. Franks...it’s a lot smoother ride in the front!
@@PaulNewfield-PasadenaCAU-wb4xg 👍
A view to a kill was bad though. Even Roger Moore said he was too old to be Bond for that movie.
I think you mean the word gritty instead of depressing.

roger moore is older than sean connery and he was his sucessor
I read that Moore was actually the bigger name at the time, but the producers couldn’t get him so they went with Connery.

Tarzan yell!
JAMES BOND ONE LINERS ALWAYS GOOD! ROGER MOORE WAS THE BEST AND ONLY JAMES BOND!!!!
2:42 The good old Texas Switch.
Spotted that! There doesn't seem to be many switches in the Moore era, but a good few in Connery's. Unless someone can point some Moore ones out??? 😊
"Mr Bond is indeed of a very rare breed… soon to be made extinct."
2:31 According to my sound sense...that does not sound like Roger Moore.
I knew it wasn’t Moore because of the missing English accent
Random Tarzan yell huh?
An entertaining bond film
I love Roger M for this movie..shot in India..if not also .he is a Bond a true Bond..love him...
Out of all the Bond movies Octopussy is the most ridiculous one.
Have you seen you only live twice or die another Day or diamonds are forever, those are ten times more ridiculous than octupussy
“Shhh. Be vewy quiet. I’m Huntin’ secwet agents. Huhuhuhuhuh!”
Moore made some good Bond films, but often he played it too much for laughs.
Moore's Bond was a Slapstick Bond
*Insert Benny Hill Show theme*
Johnny Weissmuller he's not.
Oh man. I feel that Octopussy was somehow forced to be too nonsensical at times. While the previous Moore adventure, For Your Eyes Only, was actually quite grounded and way more serious than Moonraker or The Spy who Loved Me, Octopussy has these insane moments like the Tarzan yell, saying "Sit!" to a damn tiger and having that old horror movie laugh as a sound effect. Come on.
02:46
Yes... I'm literally hunted but let me stop to remove this leach from me with a lighter that's totally not wet and non-functioning after me face diving into a muddy puddle after doing a Tarzan impression.
Ah! Old Bond's were so good!

START THE PLANE CMON START THE PLANEEEEEE
I cannot understand one thing, in which Forrest he is facing all those animals at the same time
2:13 Did he say Rock and Roll ?
Hole, Rock and Roll.
Bond and Tarzan in one.
Is this a jungle or a zoo?
And people think Australian wildlife is out to get you
007 ✔
2:45, how did Bond get a leech on his chest from being in the water for 2 seconds?
The director asked the leeches to be really quick, quicker than usual.
No leeches were harmed in the making of this video

Was he tiger or a pet Dog
Both, I think. A tamed tiger!
1:34 "sihise tiehesi!", mainio suomennos tv:ssä! :D That is finnish language but I don´t know how to translate it. It means "hiss away!" in rough translation. It sounds very funny in finnish, that´s why I wanted to say it :)
Too bad the tiger didn't attack the hunters.
Getting sport-hunted by a huge number of killers, ALL of whom are so DIRECTLY on your tail, that they're constantly taking aim and firing, while you BARELY dodge bullet by bullet... AAAAAAND a croc's chasing you down the stream ...
Yeah, ALL in all, seems like a GREAT time to STOP TO BURN A LEACH OFF YOU - with a zippo!! 👍👍🤣🤣🤣🤣
"SIT!"
2:31 Tarzan.
Less sense, less dark , only silly funS
what are you a Indian
0:08 Was that necessary for filming? He really killed that spider.
Most people don't care about bugs. Plus, trantulas are so fragile even a short drop will kill them.
Tarantulas don’t make webs like that( going across trees) , they either live on the ground and web around there hole or live in trees( if they are aboreal( sorry for the spelling).
Now is that really a real tiger?
Of course it was. The tiger which first lurches at Bond is a stuffed one; the tiger in the following shots is in front of a handler, doubling for Bond in the shots of Bond from behind.
Translation kills everything
