Shiho is probably one of the best moms out there. She's so funny and she cares a lot for Sarang. She still loves her husband even though he's so blunt. I respect her a lot.
I think he's only like that when the cameras are rolling. He seems very shy around the cameras.

I think sarangs dad is kinda annoyed because his wife tries too hard to be the best wife. Complimenting the dish, having list and schedules of the day etc etc. He wants her to just relax, be herself and honest for once in a while. I think sarang's dad fell in love seeing his wifes appetite. You could see his face lights up seeing her eat so well.
That's kind of presumptuous lol. What if "being herself" IS complimenting the dish, making lists, making schedules etc.?

One of my many favourite clips from this show. We don't often get to see quiet/couple time with this pair. Plus the food looks amazing. And mom is so enthusiastic about eating! Yummy!!!

refreshingxmint even though your comment has been over a year now, i finally understand why they cant have alcohol but its still ironic that people in korea are big drinkers so why even bother- as if its gonna show bad example to kids- pretty sure at that time there are already drunk people on the streets....
@bibirainrain you must understand that as a national broad casting station, it is their responsibility to air what is appropriate. It doesn't matter if other people were drinking at 5pm. So long kbs does not show it. It is like theft, it is going on as we speak but it is a personal choice not to do it. It is about morals.

I'm a native from jeju and to those that never tried the islands black pork with the anchovy sauce it is something u will never taste. its one of the best delicacies that is sold there and the flavor is very unique which isn't easy with simple grilled meat and sauce.

I like how Shiho eats. There is this thing with Koreans which they love eating things in one big mouthful, which me as a foreigner find it pretty weird because they are literally stuffing their faces that they can barely chew. But Shiho is just eating it in bites that she can manage, which is nice to see.
I also find it weird when some Koreans do that. Some of them also eat too fast especially when they're doing a mukbang. Shiho is Japanese so maybe that's why you don't see her do that.

Also, when you do watch the episode where Sarang and Grandpa Choo treat out Grandma Choo to lunch for her birthday, the show will tell you how the two grandparents met: Grandma Choo was Grandpa Choo's tutor in learning Korean because Grandpa Choo (even though he's pure Korean) grew up speaking Japanese, so technically, like Sarang, Korean is not Grandpa Choo's first/native language. Interesting fact.
Maybe after Korean, Sunghoon and the Choo grandparents will teach Sarang another language: Kansai-ben (the Osaka/Kinki Region dialect) Japanese. There were a few scenes where I caught Grandpa Choo speaking to other Japanese using Kansai-ben.
