Scottie's weakness is putting - which is exactly what will be needed in a big way to win this tournament. He is not even close to being the best putter in the field, and with the greens being 13 on the stimp and dry hot sunny weather for the next 4 days then it makes no logical or statistical sense why Scheffler should be such a huge favourite on this particular course. He'll be crying like he was at the Ryder Cup last year when things don't go his way, and triple bogeys will be showing up again like they did last week. The setup suits Cam Smith, Bryson and Morikawa much better, Hideki is #1 SG around the greens on PGAT, Hovland has been knocking on the door for 2 years now for a major, Brooks thrives in difficult tests that require patience and pars.

He didnt have his a game last week too and still won. I agree. He is 71st in putting. I worry about him this week. Rex and Lav just want him to win so they dont have to do their job. If we have a Micheal Campbell 2005 type of winner, I am worried they will cry and bitch and say Scottie should have won. I laughed when I saw that Scottie was +300. Vegas loves that man. I think Dean Burmester is a sleeper pick.

If Scottie wins then its possible that that police officer robbed him of a chance to win the grand slam

Scotty is expected to perform well again this week. With his exceptional abilities, he has what it takes to succeed. His approach is straightforward, focusing on making solid ball contact and controlling the trajectory effectively.

How many players will finish under par? I'll say 5.

Scheffler's club face is square for 18" thru impact due to his crazy swing and footwork. David Duval of 2000 pre-back injury is the best comparison. He was #1 forever.

Duval in 99 was a serious force, as was Vijay in 04.

Luck on the greens will have everything to do with it.

I think McIlroy probably isn't a contender this week. He tends to have one or two holes a round where the ball goes seriously offline. On this course, that will result in an 8, even for a pro.

Yep, it's funny how no one in the pro-PGAT golf media talks about when Scottie got destroyed at the Ryder Cup last September and sat crying in his golf cart, or how he always seems to blow a multiple shot head start lead at the Tour Championship, 7 shots to Rory and 2 shots to Hovland......prime Tiger Woods would never have let that happen and certainly wouldn't cry in a golf cart lol. Scheffler is on a nice run, but he's nowhere near Prime Tiger, and the PGAT tournament he is winning are only against SOME of the best golfers - the other half of the top players are on LIV.....Tiger had to play against ALL of the best golfers at the time.

@@SiLoMixMaster nobody is saying hes tiger. Even your text proves hes doing something special. LIV tour got nowadays like 3-5 good players rest are pretty washed up as we have seen in this year majors

It's the US Open. Anyone who is good enough is invited to qualify for the tournament if they are not exempt. If you chose not to try or tried and failed, how can you be among the best?

@@jimiverson3085 WRONG. Niemann is #1 on LIV right now and shot a round in the 50's this year. Talor Gooch was #1 on LIV last year and won more money than any golfer in the sport in 2023. Oosthuizen should be playing also, as should Patrick Reed. These are all top 50 golfers in the world, to argue otherwise shows your bias and/or stupidity.

And they could have entered qualifying and made it. But they couldn't be bothered, they'd rather whine about it. Just a couple of chicken**** complainers. F*** them.
