I had the privilege of working with John on his TV Celebrity Ski Classic and very much enjoyed our time together heli-skiing. Wonderful human being and I still listen to his music.
Here we go again in March 2022. I'm very sad tonight. I was born in a hospital basement during a war and now that's happening to another new generation. God help us all.
I was at this concert in 1982 and it gives me the same goosebumps now listening to it. I'm just a whole lot sadder, because he is gone and war is much more prevalent in the world today. He truly was ahead of his time in his thinking and ideals. So sad that he is gone.
Knowing little of John's life, I am grateful for his path, thundering with love and beauty ! B--) His soaring departure may have been premature, yet he seemed to pack many lifetimes into his time here.
That's what I loved about John. He was a gentleman, kind and compassionate. He loved life so much and wrote so many songs that reflected on the beauty he saw. It makes me happy to know he was close to God. He made alot of references in his songs like The Potters Wheel, Ricky Mountain High the verse where he says you can talk to God and listen to his casual reply. To me most of his songs were in a way expressing his love for what God made, the earth, the animals. He touched many with his life. Thankyou John Denver for sharing your gift of song and your spirit! :-)
Have u heard his song called Gospel Changes, and poems prayers and promises? Those songs speaks alot to me, u should definitely listen to it, it also has alot of imagery, and it's so poetic, and it's Christian too.
I fell in love with John’s music when he finally hit the radio. I was 18. A life long fan, my son, Matthew, got his name from John’s song about an uncle. He’s very proud of that, tells people his story. Both my kids, now adults, are still John Denver fans. 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦 His music is eternal!
This song was the anthem of my childhood. I never had heard his version and with the poem it streams like sunlight while we watch war, yet again, this time in Ukraine, like a nightmare. I can see the paper signed, the million copies and the people dancing. We must make it happen. Peace.
We will never , ever make this happen. But in the mellinum reign of Christ it will happen and then after the new heaven and a new earth for eternity. This world fell to sin at the beginning, that's why Jesus came to die for us ,if we would accept Him as savior and die for our sins. No, there will be sin, death, war and all problems until that glorious day,man is a fallen creature that Jesus died to redeem.
@@duncreagan-irishandscottis7137 It is describing in most ways the melliniall reign of Christ at the ending of armeagedon, beginning a 1000 reign of peace under Jesus be fore the very last battle. You must know the Holy Bible in order to understand the future of complete peace.
@@philiplucas3294 The Bible is all about war. If God exists, he must be vengeful because there has been nothing but war on Earth so far. Where has God been? It isn't about what might happen in the future. That can't change what has happened.
He didn’t write this song. It was a folk standard written in the 50’s. As John started out in the folk circuit I suspect that’s where he learned it. It’s my family’s tradition to teach this song to all the kids & new additions. John’s version is very lovely. Johnny Cash’s last recording on the album issued after his death is very very powerful (an old man’s voice maybe). Pete Seager sang it nearly every time he performed. Great song. I wish we’d fulfill this dream!
Mr. Gordon from PS 29 sang this to us many, many times. So glad that he did, so that I raised peace loving children. Thank you John Denver and thank you Mr. Gordon. 🙏 ~ Amen
I miss him too , ditto to all your comments . I saw him concert in Australia when took my mother in law for her Birthday. John recites his poem stirringly, and a beautiful cover of Simon & Garfunkel song on their debut Album Wednesday Morning 3am
Who in the world could thumbs down this? The song and the singer are about as perfect as humanly possible! I guess that is why there will always be wars.
Never heard this sing before. Strange i just felt like hearing john Denver and came right a crossed it at this time when things r heating up around the world and at home.
This song always brings a tear to my eye as it was song so beautifully many times by children at a school where I use to work in the 1980's on their last day at junior school . Now it as more meaning then ever with what's happening around the world today.
Thank you John for all the incredible world you did with you time here. You have always brought hope and peace in my heart and in my mom and dad. Thanks always!
I have liked most of his music since I learned of him in the '70s and I like that he touches on sin in the beginning. . . . . . . . but I wish he had expanded / elaborated on his viewpoint more. This year being 2015 I view so very much more violence in the world and believe it will only worsen. It seems there are more people that want death for others, than those like me, that want peace.
I believe in this and I am going to record it and release it worldwide 🌐 we can Achieve this If we put our differences behind us and we can then live in PEACE ✌️ 🙏
In a time of satanic and genocidal war John Denver leaves us with Wisdom ~ Wake up and protect the future generation. No more poison jabs. #SOS John may you be at Peace. Peace in our time.... ❤💛💚💜
One of the most beautiful humans to ever walk upon this fallen earth.
Abosolutly so ❤️🙌🏻. I say that exact thing often.
his voice was as smooth as butter@@ThereseRay
Yes He Was Rose and we need to turn his Dream into Reality
We need this man so badly right now.
I had the privilege of working with John on his TV Celebrity Ski Classic and very much enjoyed our time together heli-skiing. Wonderful human being and I still listen to his music.
Needed so much in these days of war, we need more Singers like John, but they can never be another John Denver you are loved, and missed.

John was so sincere...I love the song. The strangest dream, alas, is still a dream.
How do you know? Love conquers all....dreams may just well be the seeds of reality for tomorrow
My mum used to sing this to me when I went to bed. RIP, mum

I love the song as it was among the first chosen songs for my guitar lesson in 1997. Thanks for sharing

Yes, about time. (The peace thing, not the resurrection and all that.)

His music not played enough on the radio and on TV , a genuinely nice man.
What a sweet man he was. He is missed so badly
John's voice never fails to renew my faith and hope in the future. Thank you, Mr. Denver.

This song is sadly still so relevant. John was a good, sincere, man. I wish for peace, and I miss that pure voice. #peace
I miss John so much, especially with the way things are in the world right now. I'm sure he would be up there resisting and writing meaningful songs.
How fitting for today's issues.......Maybe someday.
