GOODBYE RUBBER...WE LOVE YOU, PLEASE DON'T FORGET ABOUT US! 😂😫 We're given another rendition of Fafnir and the rubber is gone once again. This is to be expected at this point, but it's a bit disappointing every time. Vanish Fafnir had an unreal amount of rubber in its Blade/Energy Layer Base design from Takara Tomy. There was more rubber than plastic. Opposite for this version. Although we're a bit disappointed with the lack of rubber, this leaves room for a surprise release from Beyblade Burst Pro Series in the future. Either way, we'd still pick this one up just because it's Fafnir.
It must hurt seeing all the beys in the show doing all the cool things, pick these up and find out they share none of that, and then finding out later the identical top to the show exists in Japan.
Imagine being a Hasbro beyblade fan in general 😰 The whole thing is just depressing. I'm done, Quad Drive will never see a dime of my money and Pro series is Hasbro's life support right now. Takara Tomy is expensive but it's worth the money 💸.
Yupppp...Pro Series definitely makes up for that, but too bad they don't release as quickly! Hopefully, we'll see Pro Series release every single Bey down the road and we'll have releases for years to come.
I know it's more expensive, but I'm sticking with Takara Timy from now on. It's just sad that Hasbro thinks this is okay. They KNOW it will make sales because it can be difficult to get ahold of TT Beys for some of us. They're only doing this for money, and I'm sick of supporting it. You would have thought they had learned after the complaints during the Metal Fury series, but I guess not.
We feel you. Hasbro probably has many margins they need to meet and the specific audience they're aiming their products at probably don't mind the lack of features. They then make room in their pro series lineup for the beys that most of us want. The bad thing is if we don't support Hasbro and the North American market, we might see a lack of Beyblade production overall. If Takara Tomy and the Japanese market see major success in the west, there'll be more incentive for them to keep innovating and producing Beyblade.

I don't know what they were thinking with this direction since post Evolution. Like i'm sure gimmick wise during OG and MFG Gen, Hasbro tried their best to copy the Takara Tomy gimmicks as best as possible with almost the exact same parts too most of the time. Now in Burst gen S1&2 Hasbro remain faithful to their JP gimmick, but after that they went on to make their own gimmick that's a hit or miss. So yeah i dunno where this is going later on

Hell even Hypersphere would trash QD IMO. You can go all the way back to Turbo/Slingshock & embarrass Quad Drive. Hasbro has officially become Trashbro. The surge hate hasn't aged well at all and Quad drive is living proof of my statements.
They did make a orange Kick attachment, but it's in another Dual pack of Stone Nemesis and Destruction Ifritor. Hasbro loves switching colors so we have to spend money to buy the anime accurate colors.

Fafnir's release was kind of a disappointment, and while I've come to expect that from Hasbro, it's sad to see the mainline beys get the shaft when the exclusives they make like Berserk Linwyrm and Gilded Balderov perform fairly decent. And to think, we even have the dumpster fire that is Salvage Valtryek coming up soon...
Guys don't worry about it, Hasbro beyblades run out of stamina so fast, this poor excuse of a Fafnir doesn't even need the rubber if it's going strictly against Hasbro beys ;)

I can't understand for the life of me why Hasbro deliberately decides to remove gimmicks. I mean... Instead of making the Pro Series, just make the Beys right the first time.
To answer your answer its cost. It's cheaper to mold a single plastic ring than to dual mold it with rubber. What made mirage special is that its shape sucked for spin stealing. The previous fafnirs all had some corners that stuck out and would catch the opposing bey and absorb spin regardless of rubber which is why hasbro cheaped out. Mirage fafnir needed the additional friction to spin steal and so in order market it through the show some level of spin stealing was needed and they gave it rubber. Hasbro was never trying to improve the quality of the beys they are just making each bey as cheap as possible while still being able to market it though the show.
We have to give Hasbro props for trying to innovate with their gimmicky lineups, but we suspect it's due to profit margins and production costs. Having two series of releases doesn't bother us much as long as they don't axe the Pro Series line. We're patient and want to see all the originals release eventually 😂
