Sunshine Recycling recycles bridge over Catawaba River

- Sunshine Recycling assisted United Contractors by moving, processing and recycling concrete from the bridge over the Catawba river near Rock Hill. The concrete material from the bridge was recycled into Crush Run which is primarily used as a road base for highways and parking lots. Crush Run is also used as a "stand alone" material for driveways and roads that property owners do not want to pave.

The correct term is "crusher run". It is a blend of crushed stone, sand and fines and, when properly placed, graded and compacted, is extremely durable as a road subgrade.

When they built a large mall near here they had a rock crusher to make all the small stone needed for roads and concrete for the building itself saved a lot of money

from the looks of it, the film just shows what the machinery can do. to little product to make it viable for concrete production. ( we had a whole shopping center burned down. the machinery crushed and sorted all the concrete structures that were left after the fire. and right next to the crusher new concrete was mixed. the only thing they had to bring in was cement and water. and obvious new rebar.)
Would have been good to see the initial slab crushing and rebar removal afterwards!
Yeah, step(s) got skipped here. Guessin' they had excavator w/'Jaws of Death' chomping those large hunks into smaller crusher bites.
So what about the big pieces with rebar?
