This is obviously a useful video for using Libby but I also love the idea of rebranding a public library's digital book collection as a lifehack to get free books instead of just being a public service that we keep funded for the public good. Please go to your libraries.

1:54 Interesting to see that there's a card name there. For me, it just shows up as the username of my online account for my library, but I'm guessing it depends on how the library system has it set up.
2:56 I didn't know that bit was clickable, but it might depend on the library system.

I wonder if this will work on my 3rd gen kindle? I heard after Aug, they are shutting down direct access for older devices. I believe I read that we can still use the kindle, but getting books has be done manually from a laptop/computer. Sucks, but I'll put up with it. I love my kindle!

I think you have to listen to audio books using the Libby app itself.

A little light but no you do not need Amazon prime. I'm pretty sure that works with any Kindle.

Sometimes a book doesn't have a kindle version available on the Libby app in which case you can just read the book inside the app itself.

Let’s say you finished your book before the due date. Would you return it through the lobby app ?? Or can you do it from the Kindle tablet ??

You can return it directly from the Libby app, but to return it from kindle, you would have to go into manage content and devices from your account page on the Amazon website.

BanjoJude this means that book is being borrowed and there isn’t any other licenses to borrow it, so basically you put it on hold until someone else returns the book (borrow time expires)

When you download from Amazon, you need to check which device is selected for the book to be downloaded to. It's usually a gold or yellow box and you click on the arrow to bring up the drop down menu. From there, you can change it to your desired device.

This feature doesn't work for the kindle in Canada yet, but overdrive is owned by kobo, and the kobo Clara hd and more expensive kobos work with overdrive and the libraries in canada.
