Billie Eilish & Finneas On Getting Daniel Craig's Approval For The James Bond Song 'No Time To Die'

- There are so many obstacles to overcome when you're tasked with creating the new James Bond original song. First you have to live up to the iconic past moments such as Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger" and "Diamonds Are Forever" or Adele's "Skyfall." Then (ideally) you try to incorporate the movie's title into your song... somehow.
Finneas had plenty of sympathy for Jack White's "Another Way To Die" tune instead of using the title "Quantum of Solace." And finally, the current Bond, Daniel Craig needs to approve. Big hurdles, but easily surmountable for this crew of musicians. The new team behind James Bond's latest song for "No Time To Die" is made up of the legendary Hans Zimmer, Johnny Marr and current creating sensations Billie Eilish and her brother and writing partner Finneas. The four reconvened at Variety's FYC Fest to break down the song writing process.

I don’t think it is so much that finneas is underrated as it is he is so humble, and puts Billie out in front so much because he loves her so much. He has been recognized as one of the best writers/ producers in the business.

While it's great to appreciate what someone does saying Finneas, who literally writes and produces with at current probably the biggest artist on the planet, is underrated is a bit silly. He is very well known and is lined up with many software companies who acknowledge and support his talent.

As a producer and songwriter, hell no! He won multiple grammys and everybody in the scene knows him. It is simply that the general public is not as aware of producers as of the singers.
Love that the interviewer let the conversation flow. That’s great on his part because we all get to enjoy this so much better.

Dude you cant talk like that specialy when hans zimmer is in presence, he has bigger career than billie will ever have, and billie is one of my all time favourite artist's. She's defenetly not feeling like that, she is just taking everything like her brain is sponge to get as much as she can from these amazing superstars.
I always love that Hans is both the most professional and yet most childlike and funny in his enjoyment of what he is doing in interviews. It’s a common thread in legendary artists is a looseness and joy in what they are doing otherwise you go kinda bonkers from the stress.

Hans loves his work. Just in the trailer to his masterclass, you can see just how deeply he admires his craft, and loves it when he can spread his wings and get down in the nitpicky details and create a masterpiece. That's what I like about him.
They're all talented people. And down to earth. I love the song, the lyrics are top tier. I adore 007, I grew up with him, he's part of my history, I've read the books, seen the movies, and the music is so important. Billie Eilish was the perfect choice. And Daniel Craig liking the song proves he has great taste.

I came back to watch these delightful people again! There is so much respect for each other's role and work. Hans' insight that Billie, Finneas, and Johnny have the same aesthetic is so right on target. Did you hear Johnny talk about noises and the soundscape? I could just feel Finneas' approach resonating with that. What lovely people (including the interviewer who crafted questions to tap into interesting ideas)! I will probably return to this when the film comes out. These are people working hard to share their talents and expertise. That is sacred.

@Blablabla And White South Africans come from a Northern European Ancestry - Dutch, German, Danish.../ Billie's ethnic heritage is Northern European (English/German/Scandanavian)...so there would be some overlap in features.
Then you should look at more pictures of Billie - given the light, photographer, time element - she bears a very strong resemblance to Theron and Scarlett Johannson. Not exact but pretty close.
