First harvest in 50 years! 90 Year old combine lives again!

- Well it finally happened everyone. Harvest season is here! Everything went pretty well with this 90 year old sunshine waterloo harvester combine. Plugged it once because I was taking too deep of a cut. All in all got around 100 bushels from around 5 acres. not bad... Thankyou to everyone who helped me get to this point. I figure from what I've been told that this combine hasn't done a good days work in 50 ish years. Only a couple passes as a demonstration. Well I brought the demonstration to the big screen in hopes that many will see it. Took about 5h to harvest the field. Thank for watching everyone! It's amazing how early the Australians figured out the "standard" layout for a combine. Centered operator station, rear wheel steering, and a side unloading grain tank. It took us a little longer to figure out that layout in North America.
Great video. I would have liked to hear the engine and the sound of the machine running.
Was nice to see this old piece of machinery not just saved, but also put back in to usable condition... kudos to you for bringing it back to life.🛠️

For its age that old girl moves at a pretty impressive clip! I'll bet the first owner felt like he was the king of the world playing in the big leagues. I wonder how many 1 ton grain trucks that combine has filled over the years?

I first saw this one and was very impressed I saw another one operating almost yesterday and now I'm back to this one I think this is one very cool combine and I'm interested in more specifications on that engine but carry on man I appreciate it

Sunshine Auto Header. One wheel drive. It's a HST header (Headley Taylor Smith the inventior of that style of front and combine as ya call e'm overseas) like the Sunshine no.6 PTO, engine function and ground drive models. They were exported. lt's good to see one working overseas.

jeez, needs more auger flights, lol. If you were bringing that tank to shops, there is a good chance somebody walked off with the cap. I've learned the hard way to keep careful track of items that attract attention.

You eat a ton of dust every day operating this thing. Also the engine sitting beside you will burn you up. Still a big step up from doing it by hand.

I'm interested in the design of the cutter and the width and a lot of other stats, a voice over without music would have been good. The least interesting thing about the combine was the engine. I would have loved more info on the threshing mechanism.
What is it like harvesting wheat rather than oats which are easier to thresh?

Hi from aus good to see. I have one that iv just got its a bit older with a fordson motor and 2speeds 12 ft head twin bager. mine is missing the brakes I have the pedal but that's all the link is just hanging and it's not obvious what's ment to be there

Use silver seal radiator leak fix pour small tube contents into radiator run for awhile seal it up.

I didn't check the losses but I think they are high lol!!! There was a bit of return grain so it's doing its job!

Dump the music! People who enjoy the old antique machinery want to be able to enjoy the sounds of the machines.
Where is the sound of the machine working, I personally don't care to here music when you have history in motion.

Would do a lot cleaner grain sample if it had the correct sieves in place.
This is a good video except for on thing. When you were doing the shots on the ground, why didn't you let us hear it run instead of covering it up with this background racket. Good

Interesting video, but next time leave that annoying, irritating, loud background music at home where it belongs. I (and many others) would much rather listen to that machine at work. Because of that stupid music I'm giving this a thumbs down. 👎
