- It's our last day at Shanghai Disneyland, so we decided to answer some of your questions from instagram, about is Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland worth the visit. When I first announced I was coming to China, so many people were nervous about my trip to Shanghai Disneyland & Hong Kong Disneyland. HAPPY VLOGMAS

For those keep saying you hate how JoJo pronounces Shanghai or he is saying it wrong. He is actually saying it in a more traditional/authentic way. You can say it both way, and if anything he is saying it the right way.

It doesnt matter how he pronounced it. The important thing is the way he endorsed disney land. He is not a local ..hello! So it is normal to mispronounce ot. But the way i heard him it was somehow correct but then again regardless how its being pronounced. Why not commend him for showing all disney land theme parks.I’m having fun by just watching him. I dont personally know him. I just came across his blog. All he said was positive. Grateful because he/they shared their experience and how beautiful disney theme parks are to everyone. Not all of us are given the priviledge to visit these places.
I think it is less about how he pronounces it and more about how many times he says it in a video...i made it a drinking game
As a Chinese person, I can confirm he says correctly in Mandarin.

(From a HK resident) Glad u enjoyed both Disneylands, Ive been to both and thou Shanghai’s has more to offer, I do feel like HK has the best overall vibes and offers a more complete Disney experience. Thanks for visiting and we’re glad that u enjoyed ur trip to both Hk and China. Also to the Americans reading this comment, China is very very safe, much safer than the States, and u dont rlly need to worry much about security issues, visas, language barriers and all that, its easy to deal with and yes ull occasionally get a few stares from locals but they dont mean it in a bad way, its just part of their culture. I truly hope that more ppl are open to the idea of visiting China instead of just gaining wrong perceptions created by from the general media discourse from western medias…

Bruh staring at people of other races is definitely not a cultural thing in China. It’s just Chinese people do not have a long history of having foreigner around. Give China some time I’m sure this will go away😅
HK Disney always gets a hard time because everyone says it’s too small. Just because a park is big doesn’t make it better. Some days you can do HK in a day without the premier passes etc, but today (11 Dec) I did about 5 rides and a show. No school for the kids today so it was packed. Licky u guys didn’t film today there.

We were there too on the 11th (stayed the weekend), it was nuts! We go there all the time and have never seen it quite so crazy, couldn't even get into World of Frozen! Luckily we got to do it all on the Sat night. I love our little Disney here, it reminds me vibe wise of how Orlando used to be a couple of decades ago...
Why is everyone making it a competition between SH and HK Disney tho?
@@moiraleung not really a competition as HK Disney is so much smaller as it’s never going to get as many people as Shanghai. HK Disney struggles to turn a profit every year because Disney takes a huge chunk royalty and as it’s half owned by the govt. HK Disney can’t really compete in terms of size with Tokyo and Shanghai nearby but at least it’s there for people here to do in a day. I go every week with my daughter. She loves it and for the size we can do most rides when it’s not busy. Doubt you could do other Disney within a day without a fast/premier pass. I will say that HK Disney is in the middle of nowhere so you don’t actually see the outside world and that creates the illusion of people entering a different world. I never been to Shanghai or Tokyo Disney but I’m planning to. Will be able to get more feedback then. As I was saying though it’s not really a competition but before Shanghai Disney, HK Disney got a lot more of the mainland market, it still does today alongside I see more south east Asian people there whereas I think Shanghai will be probably 95% mainland Chinese

Do you know that Shanghai is an international metropolis with a large number of foreigners living, working, and living in Shanghai, so locals are not curious about foreigners unless your behavior is inappropriate or you look strange

@@nihilisticprophet6985 As foreigner (American) residing in Shanghai. This is true. Locals couldn’t care less… go to the countryside where foreigners rarely visit and you get some looks.

I had a blast during my stay in disneyland hongkong. It is the happiest place on earth. I feel so happy by watching you and your friend enjoying and brought the inner child in you. I feel like im in disneyland again. Awesome. Good job kerp it ip bro!

I really feel your enthusiasm for conquering all the parks in 1 year… I feel I did something similar with just the North American parks this year… and that’s considering I don’t do CZcams videos to pay my bills. It’s still something I’m proud I did 😁

Would love a video about all the technical stuff overseas visitors need to know... how to pay for things, chargers... (haven't started this video yet tho in case you've already covered that)
Hi! Here in HK you can pay with the usual credit cards or get an Octopus card (which you use for the MTR - train) add money to it and simply swipe it to pay in many places. You can even swipe your phone here to pay with your Mastercard etc. Chargers - pretty much all the big hotels have universal USB outlets, our standard plug is the same as a UK plug, three prong. However you can buy HK to US adapters really cheap from local stores, plus a lot of hotels will have these adapters on hand anyway. Hope that helps! Coming from the West, living here in HK is super easy!

I understand Jete's desire for American food. After my husband and I spent 3 weeks in Russia adopting our kids, all I wanted was my MIL's lasagna. That was my top craving from home.
That park is so unique. Shanghai seems more Disney inspired than a clone of other Disney parks.

It’s good to know you and Jete felt safe in China and Hong Kong and that they were friendly. You can say the same about any foreign country just be respectful and follow their laws. One question though is do you know how long your visa is good for?

hi jojo you are right language barrier can be difficult I speak three languages, spanish because I´m mexican, English because I learned in school and Japanese because I like the culture and anime but still when I went to Japan even I know the language was difficult for me Chinese is pone of the most difficult languages to learn 🐝
JOJO, at 7 minutes, that walkway is clearly the same design as EPCOT. The horseshoe with glass is near Living with the Land as you walk to the center. Yes. this Disneyland park is so modern. Its cold because its on the East China Sea facing South Korea/North Korea and Japan. Hong Kong is southern of China facing Indian Ocean that is fairly warmer water.

Surprised you guys didn’t just do the 144 hour transit without visa, you would have qualified going from HK to Shanghai to USA and wouldn’t have needed any visa at all

Once upon a time families all accross America would gather in front of their televisions on Sunday evening to watch Uncle Walt introduce his Wonderful World of Color. Walt naturally had a midwestern accent. Some words the man just could not pronounce. The writers for Uncle once put the word aluminum in just a few too many times because he just couldn't say that word. He fired them all on the spot. Some joke. Caribbean is one of the words Mr Disney couldn't pronounce. Nobody wanted to argue with the boss so Disney to this day pronounces it the way Uncle Walt did. Jojo call your dad.

He insists it is the correct way to say it; when in fact he is technically just mocking the accent of those speaking the language.
The translation/pronunciation is Shang Hi
Not true 😂 Shung-Hai is not an accent it is a pronunciation of how it’s actually said. As an American who speaks Chinese (Mandarin) and lives in Shanghai I can confirm this is how it is supposed to be spoken. Us Americans like to call things whatever ways is easier for us and it just sticks. It works this way vice versa.
@user-gg8bv6xe7y But what I don't understand is why pronounce it the Chinese way if he's not speaking Chinese? When you order a burrito do you roll your R's like a Spanish speaker or do you just say burrito with the typical English pronunciation?
@@KaliBoyinPDXI get you, but Chinese overwhelming agree that they want the city to be called Shung-hai and I’ve had many conversations with Chinese as to why Americans pronounce it the wrong way. I tell them each time we are simple people.. most speak one language and we think we are right 100% of the time.
Chinese speaking English will say Shung-hai as well.
@user-gg8bv6xe7y Chinese people may want us to pronounce it that way, but we're not Chinese and we speak English. I'd never correct someone for mispronouncing "México or Guadalajara". Heck even my name is mispronounced in English but I'm not getting upset about it. I don't expect people to pronounce it right unless they're speaking Spanish.
