The fabulous pianist (and expert page turner) is Eloise Kim, and this was recorded in a small recital hall (Mayman Hall) at The Colburn School in Los Angeles.
I usually don't think of listening to bass solos for their musical content, but more for the stunt factor. But with Mikyung Sung, I listen for the sake of the music. Beautiful finesse at 0:55.

I listen a lot to Mikyung Soung because her playing is so wonderful. This piece is no exception.
she knows how can differentiate herself with the others, unlike the other musicians. she's very unique, she knows how to input her emotions comes from inside. The real value is coming from her emotion, it's not just by the technique. I can truly see that. Again thanks for the great piece of music. You really made me to become a big fan of contrabass.

I watched Bottesini Elegy No.1 before in CZcams, it wrote the name also from Mikyung Sung, is the same person?
Yes. There are many videos of her playing woks by Bach, Bottesini (Concerto No 2, Elegy 1 & 2, Capriccio Bravura, Allegretto Capriccio, Tarantela), Mendelssohn, Franck, Misek, Hindemith, Fryba, Egilsson, Rachmaninoff, Bruch, Proto, and more. She has also played pieces by Vanhal, Koussevitzky, Dragonetti, Schubert, Grieg, Brahms, Haydn, Sperger, and others, though those are not all on CZcams. There are also many videos of her performing with her brother (who has won both the Sperger and Koussvitzky competitions and now plays in Bassione Amorosa in Germany). Sometimes the last name is spelled "Soung" but it is the same person. See Wikipedia for more info.

The performance is great, but the music is seems to frenzied. (like it is off mentally sorry) It doesn't tell a good story.
