@@PokeOBG in the settings so your character can hatch eggs quicker basically. I know I get running shoes but referring to settings.

Settings in the emulator and it should be like keybinds or cheats something like that near where you configure controls

This is a great tutorial but I only have one issue, do you have to create a new randomized rom each time so you get different starters. For me they are always the same

Does the rom change Pokémon to anything? Or just the limited pool that the specific game has. Like will regular black and white have all of the Pokémon, or just the ones from that game?
If you randomize black and white you’ll get literally any Pokémon that exist in that game and before

I have a question though, say if im not content about all of my choices with the randomizer and would like to tweak things, am i able to re-randomize the already existing save and come back to it without harm. so I am doing the random evolution but eventually the random Pokemon will have the same evolution like for example a Pikachu will evolve into a Starmie then into a Beedrill, in another case a Charmander will evolve into a Starmie then into a Beedrill do you know how to fix that? Like the Pokemon will always evolve into a certain Pokemon and it’s not really randoimnized

Hello , im using it on pokemon silver gen2. Pokemon like Staryu need stones to evolve or just by leveling up?
just level up if you had selected that on the randomizer program.
So I saw that the universal randomizer states gen 1-5, I really want to do mega evolutions just because I've never played a Pokémon game with mega evos.
Will it put at the very least the gen in that was mega evos or am I shit out of luck?
And I was also wondering if you knew of any switch emus along with a way to do that, because I watch some youtubers named quickgg and chillnplay and they always use randomizers on S/V & Sword/shield but don't know how to do it

You’re gonna need to get the updated universal randomizer for 3ds games and you need to get emulator like citra and somehow get the 3ds roms goodluck took me forever and I forgot most of the stuff and I couldn’t even figure out how to get switch games to work I think it’s my pc it can’t handle it but yeah
what laptop would you recommend buying if i wanted to do this specifically?
You wouldn’t need crazy specs to play this. Just needs to be a windows. Won’t work on Mac

Just a little question. So I'm having trouble finding the games I downloaded and moved to a file. But whenever I try to go to said file none of the contents are there.
edit: nvm fixed it! But how did you get that background around the screen where you play? I hate the white screen

I need some help, I made randomizer settings for soul silver and managed to get them on my desktop, but desmume refuses to run them. The pokemon games it lets me play are the zipped ones and it won't let me play any other file types. However when I zip the file with the settings, that doesn't work either. Do you have any tips?

good tutorial, but i dont know where the randomizer file saves. when i finish randomizing my game it says that the savefile is created, but it never shows up anywhere, even if i try the desktop option.

I mean you can do it again but change the destination to desktop or a file you want it to be at it should be saved in the randomizers file where the saved settings are
I tried this and it worked so well thank you. I do have a question about saving the game. I noticed that there was saving slots in DeSmuME but they wouldn't load saying there was an error. Do you know of a better way to save the game so I don't have to restart every time the tab gets closed?

You can’t use save states for randomizer, you have to use save files. So save states are saved within the emulator, save files are saved within the ROM and are a part of the actual game.
Put more simply, save files are ones you save within the game, so like, menu->save game within Pokémon, the way you would on a regular non emulator version of Pokémon. You can differentiate the two by looking at their file types. .dst is a save state, .dsv is a save file, that’s the one you want.
So select “heart gold.dsv” for instance and not “heart gold.dst”
If you randomized a save state to begin with I don’t know how to remedy that. If you randomized a save file I think just continuing to save in game and not using save states should solve your problem.

I know im super late but i want to know if their is any way to have the starter pokemon be randomized even after you restart the game for example i would have metapod dustox and rattata and then after i restart the game i still have the same randomized starters so is their a way to randomize the starters even after i restart the game?
I was under the assumption that if you didn’t save and restarted it would give you 3 different ones. If not then maybe re randomize the file

You can just store them in their folders
I downloaded Pokémon black from the link provided and it isn’t able to be opened in the randomizer. Also do you need to use the DeSmuME emulator because when I download it I can’t open it like shown in the video
Yeah desmume is one of the best ds emulators to use and that website to get the roms is the easiest for me so it should work if not try vimms lair

Trying to do this myself but the randomizer refuses to recognize any of the other game files, even when I copy paste the paths it says "Please ensure you have read access to the ROM you're trying to open"
NVM I just never unzipped the files, despite they still work while zipped inside the emulator, just not the randomizer itself for what ever reason.

Can we catch the first pokemon that appears on the first route when we have pokeballs to use? Like in gen3, we fight poochyena/zigzagoon in the first route. Once we get pokeballs, can we catch the first pokemon we encounter in the grass or no? Thanks!

You need different emulator for gba but yeah the randomizer should work unless you need to get the updated one

Hey so i have the randomiser and the roms pokemon diamond, pokemon heart gold, pokemon black, pokemon leaf green and pokemon ruby but it only lets me randomise the gba games not the ds games, any advice?
