For the most part I already understand DDoS but this video would have been great a few classes ago (I’m a Cyber Security major in my second year). I still have access to the practice server we used where we had to set up all sorts of things including DDoS & even Trojans so we could then use a secondary remote system to “find” and take them down. Definitely going to come back to your channel for anything I may need a better understand of or need to look at from a different angle because I love how you break things down.
I was recommended professor Messer to watch and learn stuff about IT and stumbled across you, glad I did because you make your videos actually really interesting and I can actually watch a whole video and not get bored! Thank you so much for making these.

I like to remember the first time a friend of mine explained what a DDoS is to me. He said to imagine like you are a waiter in a restaurant. In a normal scenario you usually have a handfull of people wanting you to take their order at max. But what happens if every single person in the restaurants starts calling you over and demanding you take their order? Basically the same result as a DDoS attack.

@@brannonschussler5342 I don't think Google was taken down - it was usable on every device so long as you were not logged in. For example, CZcams, owned by Google, was not usable until you went into incognito mode. It was simply that Google's authentication services were not working and therefore if you were logged in Google could not verify you were you and locked you out. No DDOSing.

IF YOU WANT to use arch, but don't wanna install via CLI and want to have a GUI installer there is a Another Linux called "Archo" linux which is ARCH, but it is as simple as setting up a Ubuntu GUI Distro.

His attack method does not bypass basic syn proxy techniques common in most mitigation providers that make sure that the initial request will continue the handshake.
Also, I can assume that his "SYN Flood" doesn't contain dynamic request options.
