This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there (5 octave range) & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound such as drums, harmonica etc. They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style.
Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music", "Sea Shanty Medley", "Skull & Bones" etc.

Listen to Tim’s (the bass) verse again. When he ends the verse, he drops another octave. He has a full 5 octave range - high tenor to basem😮bass! 😅

Just subscribed with hopes for more Home Free. They are the best! They do a huge variety of music and each have a very impressive vocal range. They will make you dance, cry and fall out of your seat laughing. They have great personalities and sense of humor and are genuinely good people. Tim, the bass, has a 5+ octave range and Adam, the beatboxer, is amazing. Thanks for the Home Free reaction. I'm looking forward to more. Enjoy your journey!

This group is amazing! Every one of them, all of them can sing well individually even the beatboxer and they switch parts too, they are sort of like transformers, a couple of the others can do some beatboxing when needed, and the beatboxer can drop the bass with some amazing bass notes too and the bass guy has a rare 5 octave range and can sing in a tenor range too from high to super low. The baritone is the one in the back beside the beatboxer and he is doing the mouth harp sound (some people call it a digredoo sound) and he also can sing bass if the bass is singing a lead or something.

Great Reaction!! Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole.
The group started in 2000/2001( there’s contention on the year)by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular.
They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do.
There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time they each have a part in the song.
Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys.
Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire can make almost any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota. No auto tune Adam does his Nomonica live and sounds the same .
Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) Very soulful voice and master whistler from Minneapolis,Minnesota
Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas
Austin Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )Voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. He will be leaving the group in the fall.
Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass Deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016)
They have collaborated with many singers and legends
    Don McLean: Vincent (newest release)
    Don McLean:American Pie
    Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira
Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message)
    Billy Gilman:One Voice
    Alabama:Christmas In Dixie
Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end )
Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA
    Any many many more.
They have 3 amazing songwriters in the group Tim,Austin and Chance so they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs
End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover )
    When A Loves A Woman
Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece )
    Unchained Melody
    Butts Medley/ Remix
    Listen To The Music
    Can’t Outrun You
    Brothers In Arms
Stargazer Trilogy( All Originals written by Austin)
    Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1)
    Stargazer Lilies( Chapter 2)
    MR ( mister) (Chapter 3)
Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft new video game Skull And Bones)
Might As Well Be Me ( Original)
    Playing With Fire ( Original)
    Remember My Name (Original)
    Oh Pretty Woman
    Life Is A Highway
    Stand By Me
    Cruise
    I Want Crazy
    Colder Weather
Ring Of Fire ( 2024 version)
    Jump Right In
    Any Way The Wind Blows
    I’ve Seen
Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES )
There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet.
They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO
Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟

Love this. Home Free is an amazing group. They can all sing and sing all genres of music. The beatboxer Adam is tremendous. Just saw them in concert last week and he was incredible. Listen to Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). It’s older but it’s just him and a microphone doing drums….incredible talent. HF went back to the roots of the song. It’s over 100 years old and they did a bluegrass style. Good reaction! Try Listen to the Music and see the beatboxer go to town. 😃🥰

I've been to a couple of Home Free concerts where they sang this song, and I can tell you that Adam Rupp (the beatboxer) can play the "harmonica", or in this case "nomonica" just this good live. I was even more shocked when Austin, the one in the hat that takes the lead in this song, joined him in playing the "nomonica"! They both had two different sounds when doing it, but together it sounded amazing. Check out this live performance of them singing a mashup of Man of Constant Sorrow and Johnny Cash's song Folsom Prison Blues czcams.com/video/Xv-eAvaCs30/video.htmlsi=i-9Ep7G99x5KkhOW where you'll see them both play the "nomonica". Fun fact, they all can do a little bit of beat boxing. I think you'll like their live version of Dolly Parton's song 9 to 5, where they all beatbox. czcams.com/video/o60Rr0UW0Rs/video.htmlsi=4ItVRBVTmNnToLYX Also, the beatboxer, Adam, has multiple live video's on CZcams where he has a beatboxing solo. I would suggest watching an older one first, then watch a more recent one to see how much even better he has gotten with his beatboxing. Sorry for rambling, I just get so excited when it comes to Home Free. I am a diehard "Home Fry"! Fans of Home Free are called Home Fries! What he's able to work into the rhythm/beat is just ridiculous. These guys pull off "Country" like it's nothing --- and super successful at it. The sound is so full; nearly unbelievable ... Fun reaction ! I love this performance by Home Free! Adam Rupp has a video or two out there where he attempts to explain how to do the 'nomonica' if you are interested. He is actually vibrating his soft palate or something like that. I understand that a couple of the other members of Home Free have learned how - but not nearly at Adam's skill level. Adam Chance is doing some throat singing for that oddball sound featured at the beginning and end - I've seen them do this live, but they needed to use a looper for that part to keep from damaging his voice.

    • @Klownmusicreacts
      @Klownmusicreacts  Před 3 měsíci +1

Siiick, thanks for letting me know, ill try to learn it, maybe i can do it in a future home free video🔥

    • @lrfcowper
      @lrfcowper Před 3 měsíci

The primary reason Chance uses the looper for the jaws harp sound when they do it live is because he needs to sing the baritone harmony part. He's layered on the recording -- jaws harp and baritone part -- so to achieve the same fullness of sound live, they have to loop his jaws harp because, as talented as he is, he can't sing two parts at once. Adam's percussion and nomonica are also layered, and he loops the percussion when they're performing it live so he can do the nomonica and still have drums.

    • @randyhawley7202
      @randyhawley7202 Před 3 měsíci

@@lrfcowper Well, that isn't what they said during the live performance. Just sayin'.

    • @lrfcowper
      @lrfcowper Před 3 měsíci

@@randyhawley7202 Yeah, I've seen the live performance, too. They've used different songs to introduce folks to the looper throughout the years. But people still fundamentally misunderstand why they're using it. It's so they can have 5 guys doing 6, 7, 8, 10 parts plus nomonica and drums. Yes, throat singing is hard and tiring on the voice, but the looper is there so Chance can sing two parts at once -- the jaws harp and the baritone/bass part. He doesn't just do the jaws harp into the looper and then laze around the rest of the song. He's not wandering offstage for a drink and a snack. He's singing a second part while the throat singing is going on.

Great reaction. Somewhere in youtube there’s a video of Adam Rupp (the beatboxer) demonstrating and describing how he makes that harmonica sound….sometimes referred to has his NOmonica. He is a classically trained trumpet player and i wonder if there are any transferred techniques for breathing and articulation that makes this possible. Also, be sure to tell your friend that recommended this video to watch their cover of “Ring of Fire”.

That’s a video where Adam Rupp explains how he adds beatboxing to their songs. He waits until all of the harmonies are done then he adds the beatboxing later. I think this is an added talent and elevates his talents above many beatboxers. He plays trumpet and learned how to play drums so he could imitate the sounds correctly. Pretty impressive talent.

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others.
Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist. (Hear the incredible no-monica)
Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible.
Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes.(leave the group at the end of this year😢)
Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul.
Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound.
There is no permanent lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). ..
This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing.
Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group

Some recommendations for reactions are Listen to the Music, Butts Remix, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road (Boyz 2 Men cover), In the Blood, Brother, Brothers in Arms, and one of my favorites, Helplessly Hoping (if you REALLY need to be in your feels!) Great reaction and yes, this old Home Fry had to sub to see some more of your excitement to this wonderful group! Peace from Kentucky

I heard from a beatboxer that he at least partially does the harmonica sound through his nose. You can actually see him closing off his right nostril with his finger in one part of the harmonica solo. And the beat in this particular song is very basic for Adam. His specialty, I guess you could say, is making the percussion sound as close to a real drum as possible. Apparently he would spend days and even weeks practicing one sound. Also he's really fast and can fit alot different sounds in at the same time. Their cover of "Elvira" is a good example of his "drumming" capability. He of course does amazing beatboxing too. The mouth harp sound, most prominent in the beginning and the end, was done by Chance. They all do a little instrument mimicking and/or beatboxing. I hope you'll do more of Home Free. Thanks for the video.

The beat boxer explained in a video what he has to do with his vocal chords, placement of the note in the mouth and nose and a couple other things to get the harmonica sound. Did a couple of notes in the interview and sounded just like in the song, Said it took a lot of work and practice to develop it. That is him actually doing it on the video. Auto tune would wreck the harmonies. And he can sing to. He does vocals / harmonies in the chorus of How Great Thou Art and Helplessly Hoping as there's little to no beatboxing in those two songs.

  • @GaiaOne
    @GaiaOne Před 3 měsíci

And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so doomed. We’ll save you a chair.
You’re about to be buried in Home Fries. Brace yourself.
Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks while they were scattered across the country. God bless ‘em.
All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He’s a world-class vocal percussionist and there’re good reasons he’s called a “Freak of Nature” and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam’s incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete’s sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain’t Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer (sleigh bells? seriously?) or his drum solos.
For more of Tim’s seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). This man’s range is incredible. You won’t want to miss his 5-octave run in 5 seconds in “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
For Chance’s smooth baritone/bass, check out Skull & Bones, Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, Cover Me Up, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
For Rob’s soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) One Home Fry has described him as the vocal equivalent of a Swiss Army knife because of his versatility. Just wait until you hear him whistle!
For Austin’s soaring tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he’ll sing you right out of it.)
For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Life Is A Highway, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (Tim wrote the worst country song he could think of, and it remains one of their most requested.) A word about “Brother” - if you want to hear the lyrics, you’re going to have to listen with your eyes closed, ‘cause otherwise you’ll never get past the humor of the video to actually hear what they’re singing.
For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam’s arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let’s Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female.
The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie and Vincent with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, Delta Dawn with Brooke Eden, or Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For with Peter Hollens.
Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you’ll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim’s mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You’ll need smelling salts after that one.
Don’t miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they’ll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother, Life Is A Highway).
And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’d been hit by the curse four times before I gave up and quit counting. I’m not the only victim of the Home Free Curse, either.
Although their covers are amazing, don’t miss their original compositions. They range from the the poignant (So Long Dixie) to the patriotic (Land Of the Free). These include Dive Bar Saints (one of my favorites), Road Sweet Road, Catch Me If You Can, Give Me A Sign, Lonely Girl’s World, The Stargazer Trilogy, Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget, Love Me Like That, Skull And Bones, and many, many more.
Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don’t just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.
