This should be taught in schools it's one of the most profound books I've ever read. By my own admission I am no Quaker and confronting the dormant evil within humanity is not easy to reconcile and remains a continuous struggle that will more than likely extend to the end of my days. Our capacity for evil is something we need to be acutely aware of, most people believe that they are good and will exercise their will on to others if given the chance. The Utopian mindset allows you to externalise and crush opposition because what sort of monster would stand in the way of a perfect world? This is how we end up with re-education camps and the final solution. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Interesting psychoanalysis to try to understand certain type of persons who could do what was done in the Eastern Front, as the bataillion 101, by using 2 importants experimentations(and controvertial) done after the war
    The Zimbardo one (conformity one)
: second one, (Obedience to autority) done by Milgram.
Those experiences are very interesting to look into.

Get a grip Carol. You come away with " call it Nazi occupied Poland "? The preeminent American holocaust historian Christopher Browning explains why people engaged in genocide and that's your beef? That's brilliant. Consider how jews were treated by Poles before, during and after the war. Polish antisemitism has a long and distributing history from the middle ages on. So please, spare everyone the "we poor innocent Poles" routine.

anti semitism has always been rife in poland, mostly instigated by the roman catholic church. i don't remember the exact place where it happened not the exact date but there even was a pogrom in 1946 against some 50 jewish poles who returned "home" to "pick up the pieces" off their lives and hoped to find out if there were any family members still alive....
and anti semitism still exists around the world, even in my country there are still some idiot facists left. (i'm from the netherlands...)

If you are going to speak on Final solution please do not open with location as Poland. It was Nazi/ German occupied Poland.
