Hondo, I am at a loss of why a part of the fans for the Raiders just hate the current QB. No QB is perfect. We had Carr, I loved him though he had holes in his game. The same can be said for every QB. I root for every player to be successful even after they leave the Raiders. I currently am rooting for AOC and Minshew. I hope one of them breaks out this year and develop into the next Stabler. I hope fans "listened and heard" you today. Keep up the great work you are appreciated.

Every podcast is important to us. I honestly am super happy they didn't over pay for a quarter back. Raiders made the right choice in my opinion getting so many good players. Raider Nation is going to get over it as they see the results in the games.

Would have loved Fuaga, but the Chiefs just won the Superbowl with no #1 WR really, but an elite TE. And thinking JPJ would still be there if We took Fuaga is a stretch. The whole model changes if we change picks with the Saints basically.

Hondo, thank you for your podcast and articles. Seriously, I would be very confused without them, as you are the most insider reporter I know for this team. Other podcasts are sometimes informative, but are basically well meaning fans who don't always think. It's all coming together now. They are building an elite team of Dawgs on the same page, to use every dollar wisely. This is the only way to beat KC. The Donkeys and Bolts are not to be underestimated in 24. Nearly every other team on the 24 schedule made the playoffs in 23. There will not be a single easy win. This is the mentality required to make the playoffs.
The part where you say, "Can you imagine if they had taken Fuaga and [Powers-Johnson]". Absolutely, THAT is what I think about over and over. I'm sure Bowers is worth the pick, but I would have rather got a couple of monster OL to get that right side of the line set. You're not gonna get a star OL in FA, you have to draft them.
They are projecting Fuaga to be a guard at the next level..not a tackle..it would be great if Fuaga is a tackle at the next level. Btw just making conversation not trying to discount your comment or be a dick.

Living in the UK your reports are great for understanding the inside of the Raiders Team and the in depth processes they go through. Really appreciated it.
The tackle we took in the 3rd was the second highest rated pass blocker in the draft and the highest rated was the guard we took in the second. We got a dynamic pass catcher who can line up in the backfield and score from anywhere on the field in the first. AP said from day 1 AOC was the guy and they proved that in the draft. Anyone who said that they would draft a quarterback in the first or second round obviously was listening and not hearing.

I never wanted a quarterback, because I think Aiden has to have the opportunity after taking over a tumultuous Raider team. He is smart and makes good decisons. I am unsure about the Bowers pick, but he is very good. I thought the need would be the tackle and of course, the tackle went off the board right after. I thought it was a bit disrespectful that a reporter doing the draft said that Garden minshew will be happy with the new tools as if Aiden wants the starter and that he didn't exist. As a reported, he should knows his information. I build around him. Hope you read and listen. LOL

I don't like you but I agree with your take on this draft for the Raiders. I just knew that they weren't gonna trade up for a QB and they didn't. I just don't think they'll ever use their 1st round pick for a QB again after what happened a few years ago. However, as you know, most fans and most sports experts were convinced that they would trade up. But as Telesco said when he was asked about it, "Not really... and, "No." Now there are fans who hope the Raiders crash and burn because they didn't trade up. That's on them. I'm hoping for the best. I trust Coach Pierce to get it put together so Playoffs and more happen. Lets Rock!

I saw a Pat Mcafee interview with Bill Bellichick breaking down how a draft board looks. If you haven’t checked it out you should. I’ve never seen that done before. I will be totally honest, I was perplexed as to why we took Brock Bowers and let Fuaga go. Then I watched his game films, looked in depth with Luke Getsy and what he is like. And (after emailing Hondo and him saying go watch the podcast), thinking about it, I can see them running a dual TE set. I hope that’s the plan and can’t wait to see this happen

Hondo. Right or wrong some Raider fans set their expectations based on multiple sources for this years draft. I can’t remember a time when so many sources were saying Penix to the Raiders and that was the consensus. In general people don’t like to be told NO or proven wrong on what they want or expected. The futility of Raiders drafting in the first round has been sub par to say the least. As a kid when grandma, grandpa, dad, and family say that mom is coming home with ice cream! Mom comes home and shows up with a piece of candy instead. The expectation is a let down because you were told to expect ice cream. The candy is good but not what you expected. It’s not just Raider fans but also these draft procrastinators. When the pick didn’t go as they picked some justified a poor grade for Bowers by stating they should have picked a position of need. Great player but not a need in their opinion. With that said many have written that the Raiders nailed this draft and time will tell. Clearly after AP took over the team defensively really took over and set the tone. The offense struggled to find its way. If one of QBs high on the Raiders draft had fallen, we would be having a different conversation. This offense needed a reset with an offseason. After listening to your podcasts with Drew and others I could see leading up to the draft that a QB was probably not going to happen for the Raiders unless something stupid occurred. Lots of misguided Raider material out there. You are the only unbiased journalist of Raider Nation that I’ve listened and read with the amount of content you provide. There are a few others that are solid and fans really need to sift through the garbage. Can you believe a writer from the -- wrote the Raiders had the absolute worst draft. Filter the garbage Raider Nation.

Imagine, though, if we had taken Fuaga with the 1st pick AND Powers-johnson with the 2nd pick - instantly we have THE best O-Line in the game, for the next 5-6 seasons. That's cow dynasties are built. I like Bowers a lot, but its a luxury pick. Shoulda gone OT. :=8/
I agree but It’ll be easier in the future finding a good RT than it will getting another generational TE like Bowers again. Our O-line should be solid enough just by drafting JPJ. Maybe Munford takes a leap this yr

It’s not that difficult I drafted j powers Johnson also ie put his name on my index card when the raiders were on the clock. I was worried that when the eagles traded up in front of us a few picks before I thought they were going to take powers Johnson to replace Kelce.
People believe the hype to much. If they really heard they said QB wasnt their most important need. They weren't going to jump 12 spots to get a QB that would have been ill responsible . We need to get other pieces before spending a bunch of picks and money on a what ifs because you won't know what you really got until 3 years in. They drafted safe, and i believe they did pretty good so far.
Hondo there’s a chart that every NFL has that shows the value of draft picks. You talk like Telesco is the only GM that has this information. Knowing the value of draft picks is common knowledge to every NFL GM.
So people left because they Don't like Aiden and they felt that you defended him. Damn Raider fans getting soft. Aiden has a great work ethic and deserves a shot at the job. Sad thing is once they get an opinion they never leave off of it even if said player becomes a pro bowler.

I think what he was saying was the best draft prospect last year. Laporta was the rookie te playing last year.
I also think thats why Bowers was so enticing. To get that type of play out of the passing game like Laporta did.

I never wanted a quarterback, because I think Aiden has to have the opportunity after taking over a tumultuous Raider team. He is smart and makes good decisons. I am unsure about the Bowers pick, but he is very good. I thought the need would be the tackle and of course, the tackle went off the board right after. I thought it was a bit disrespectful that a reporter doing the draft said that Garden minshew will be happy with the new tools as if Aiden wants the starter and that he didn't exist. As a reported, he should knows his information. I build around him. Hope you read and listen. LOL

I don't like you but I agree with your take on this draft for the Raiders. I just knew that they weren't gonna trade up for a QB and they didn't. I just don't think they'll ever use their 1st round pick for a QB again after what happened a few years ago. However, as you know, most fans and most sports experts were convinced that they would trade up. But as Telesco said when he was asked about it, "Not really... and, "No." Now there are fans who hope the Raiders crash and burn because they didn't trade up. That's on them. I'm hoping for the best. I trust Coach Pierce to get it put together so Playoffs and more happen. Lets Rock!

I saw a Pat Mcafee interview with Bill Bellichick breaking down how a draft board looks. If you haven’t checked it out you should. I’ve never seen that done before. I will be totally honest, I was perplexed as to why we took Brock Bowers and let Fuaga go. Then I watched his game films, looked in depth with Luke Getsy and what he is like. And (after emailing Hondo and him saying go watch the podcast), thinking about it, I can see them running a dual TE set. I hope that’s the plan and can’t wait to see this happen

Hondo. Right or wrong some Raider fans set their expectations based on multiple sources for this years draft. I can’t remember a time when so many sources were saying Penix to the Raiders and that was the consensus. In general people don’t like to be told NO or proven wrong on what they want or expected. The futility of Raiders drafting in the first round has been sub par to say the least. As a kid when grandma, grandpa, dad, and family say that mom is coming home with ice cream! Mom comes home and shows up with a piece of candy instead. The expectation is a let down because you were told to expect ice cream. The candy is good but not what you expected. It’s not just Raider fans but also these draft procrastinators. When the pick didn’t go as they picked some justified a poor grade for Bowers by stating they should have picked a position of need. Great player but not a need in their opinion. With that said many have written that the Raiders nailed this draft and time will tell. Clearly after AP took over the team defensively really took over and set the tone. The offense struggled to find its way. If one of QBs high on the Raiders draft had fallen, we would be having a different conversation. This offense needed a reset with an offseason. After listening to your podcasts with Drew and others I could see leading up to the draft that a QB was probably not going to happen for the Raiders unless something stupid occurred. Lots of misguided Raider material out there. You are the only unbiased journalist of Raider Nation that I’ve listened and read with the amount of content you provide. There are a few others that are solid and fans really need to sift through the garbage. Can you believe a writer from the -- wrote the Raiders had the absolute worst draft. Filter the garbage Raider Nation.

Imagine, though, if we had taken Fuaga with the 1st pick AND Powers-johnson with the 2nd pick - instantly we have THE best O-Line in the game, for the next 5-6 seasons. That's cow dynasties are built. I like Bowers a lot, but its a luxury pick. Shoulda gone OT. :=8/

I agree but It’ll be easier in the future finding a good RT than it will getting another generational TE like Bowers again. Our O-line should be solid enough just by drafting JPJ. Maybe Munford takes a leap this yr

It’s the AOC haters that didn’t want to give the kid a chance I would of been fine with Jayden but I knew he wouldn’t be there trust the process the old raiders fan know a good draft when they see one and we did phenomenal I loved the Brock pick while others were crying and river you can’t go wrong with two good tight ends
It’s not that difficult I drafted j powers Johnson also ie put his name on my index card when the raiders were on the clock. I was worried that when the eagles traded up in front of us a few picks before I thought they were going to take powers Johnson to replace Kelce.
People believe the hype to much. If they really heard they said QB wasnt their most important need. They weren't going to jump 12 spots to get a QB that would have been ill responsible . We need to get other pieces before spending a bunch of picks and money on a what ifs because you won't know what you really got until 3 years in. They drafted safe, and i believe they did pretty good so far.

Hondo there’s a chart that every NFL has that shows the value of draft picks. You talk like Telesco is the only GM that has this information. Knowing the value of draft picks is common knowledge to every NFL GM.
So people left because they Don't like Aiden and they felt that you defended him. Damn Raider fans getting soft. Aiden has a great work ethic and deserves a shot at the job. Sad thing is once they get an opinion they never leave off of it even if said player becomes a pro bowler.
