Endgame scaling obviously, i found op8 to be manageable but op10 is bleh. Most legendaries arent viable at end game along with most pearls being disgustingly underpowered
Slag it is, I played as Zer0 to lv50 then move to UVHM then got disappointed, knowing that you have to slag enemies to be able to damage them. Gladly later I played with a friend, it was so much fun
@@elvinskylark6950 slag is bad i agree. I play axton and salvador the most so it isnt too bad. Slag is terrible
Endgame scaling depends to heavily on your class and your build. Some bosses were almost impossible for certain heroes/builds. Some items were way to rare for how shitty they were. Furthermore some really popular items required absurd amounts of farming for parts or rolls to be even HALF-DECENT at what they were supposed to do. It got so bad for me that I starting doing melee Zer0 non-stop until I hit op2. Melee before OP levels is actually completely viable and solves almost every problem lol. Edit: but on OP levels melee falls of a cliff around OP5. Only Zer0 and Krieg can do melee on higher Op levels and the builds are dummy level specific
Tvhm, I find it super boring and really filler, I wish I could just play normal mode and uvhm, the 2 funnest parts
When Borderlands 4 comes out, the final story objective should be "Talk to Lilith."
Bruh 😆 I would unironically enjoy that
Replace "talk" with "kill" and we have a deal.
@@CrabJuice83 "Kill to Lilith."
@@IggyVRamwait no why we yall wanna do that😂
God I hate Lilith
The thing that always bugged me about the story is they were setting up for some kind of rift between Tyreen and Troy, but then they just kinda abandoned that plot thread for no reason.
Agreed, i really would have liked it if Troy actually killed Tyreen during/after his boss fight (wether it be on purpose or by accident) and then he became the final boss. Would’ve been a nice little subversion.
I think they half-delivered on this by having Troy leeching off Tyreen when you fight him. With Tyreen yelling “Troy you’re killing me!” And him not caring. But it seems like they were hinting at more, for sure
This has always been my biggest issue with the game ngl. I think they could have done something to mirror Hammerlock and Aurelia by having Troy become paranoid that Tyreen will betray him, leading to him killing her before she can prove that she wouldn't. What was the point of having Troy and Aurelia sleeping together with Aurelia telling him things like 'family is just another word for war - and the sister always wins' in response to him asking about her trying to kill Hammerlock if not to foreshadow a feud between the Calypsos?
I feel as though they chickened out of the male siren story potential. Shame.
They literally could have saved the story. All the shite dialog, annoying characters, the whole thing could have been salvaged if Troy betrayed. He could have spent the last third of the game fleshing out the repercussions. It's usually referred to as character growth but that apparently was a bridge too far this time around...
The Watcher: “War is coming and you will need all the vault hunters you can get.”

@@YoshiTheOreowhich is ironic since you play as a siren that deals with combat.
You and me both. She was my main playing with friends on borderlands 2
No matter how great a character is no character is protected from a less than ideal death. The idea that every character we like deserves a good end is childish asf
@@100StepProgram I can't stand when Writers pull this crap. It's hard, let alone tricky, to kill off a character because imo it has to at least make sense in terms of if it will further the plot that impacts the story (which they didn't do for Maya).
Hell. Roland's death was handled well, and you saw how most of the NPC's reacted when they learned he died. With Maya? They just make a joke of it and completely forget about her death throughout the rest of the game.
When re-rolling anointed items the perk pool should only include perks that are useable to the current player character.

I’d argue Lilith is worse for a LOT of reasons
@@Ki11ersix fair enough, she was pretty cool in BL2 so it was sad to see what they did with her
@@Ki11ersix I agree I found her so annoying and frustrating
I get that it's still cool to hate on BL3 and Ava specifically, but she isn't even the worst character in 3 or the series as a whole. She isn't even in the top 10 or 20 of worst all time. Just because she was a bratty kid and didn't resonate and everyone blames her for Maya's death doesn't mean she is a bad character. How does everyone not realize Borderlands is a parody? Sometimes it's a parody of itself. Why would you take anything the game does too seriously?
@@georgen5882 she is a bad character. Just because she’s a “bratty kid” and that’s how kids can be doesn’t absolve the writers of how terrible she is. Borderlands 3 didn’t need an annoying ass kid to be a big part of the story her existence alone makes her bad, even if her portrayal is “good”.
Bring back ammo specific drops like how bl2 has it. So when you run low of a certain ammo type, that ammo will drop more often from all sources.
I could be wrong but whenever I pick up Ammo it seems to just give me multiple types. The only Ammo I’ve ever struggled for is rockets but I don’t use those much at all
My biggest grip...NO DLC CHARACTERS! Their "excuse" was that they did not do well which is pure baloney krieg gage and Timothy (we dont talk about Aurliea ) sold amazingly well and were some of the best characters to boot!!
Edit: holy cow! Thank you all for so many likes and comments
Agreed.
I always assumed it was to reduce character bloat, in the sense of returning those characters as NPCs in the next game. Like how so many bl2 characters weren't in the base bl3. I definitely would have preferred dlc characters to the extra skill trees though.
i believe the stated purpose this time around was to provide more playstyle diversity with the base game characters, and i think compared to bl2 they did more or less ok with that. I also wish we got dlc characters :(
its not they sold bad its that no one played them just like no ng+ in wonderlands and no raid bosses in 3 the vast majority of players never in their entire life have ever or will ever touch them
@@Thanatos6669 that logic doesn't really track for this. They decided on dlc skill trees as opposed to dlc characters. The players who would not use dlc characters arent any more likely to use dlc skill trees.

I personally didn't like the fact they made Tannis a siren, she was already important since she's the smartest character in the series
and the single-worst written post Borderlands 1, until Ava took her throne that is.
I wouldn’t say tannis was badly written in the games before 3, because she was always a side character for the most part. She didn’t need to be more than that.
@@windebiesteultima3317 She went from someone with no social skills and yearning to have company because she's been alone at a digsite paralyzed with fear to ever try to leave, to someone who hates any sort of social interaction and wanting to insult everyone else at the drop of a hat when you meet her in 2. minor gripe, but i think the overlay for the echo device was MUCH better in 2 than in 3..whenever i used it, it felt like my character was looking at the skill tree with me. it was always just a nice little touch that i loved about bl2
Immunity Phases. I get it when we get super OP they don't want the boss to onstamtly die. But c'mon let us be OP since we worked towards that.
Especially when instead of being something 1 boss had as a novelty, it became a uninspired crutch that nearly every boss had.
It was lazy, just like the storytelling.
THIS TOO!! ALL DAY!
I’d rather deal with immunity phases than Hyperious Minion Shields and Master Gee 💀
I understand immunity phases for something like a transformation, but HAVING THE BOSS ATTACK US WHILE THEY'RE IMMUNE IS A DIFFERENT STORY.
Bosses need between 2x and 10x more health.
Knew I wasn't the only one who hated not seeing my vault hunter in cutscenes. It's why I'd always chuck a grenade in right before they'd trigger.
It’s so simple but satisfying. Otherwise youre only seeing your skin in menus
Haha same!!
That's because cutscenes were convenient little time freezes that allowed all characters to turn their brain off and get handed Ls
The closest we got was getting phased locked by Troy in the mansion.
Still far from actually being seen in a cutscene.
This is especially bad because if I remember correctly most of the cutscenes in bl2 happened while your character was doing something else and in bl3 you are clearly in them.
This might just fall under the 'story' part but this time around it felt like i had very little to do with what happens in the game. All of the events are about every character around me, but my character (Zane) was just sort of....there. in BL2 at least jack addressed ypur character and had an active stske in hating you specifically instead of just being against you because the story said so
Yeah, this one is true. They nailed it better in Pre-Sequel - all classes react differently to story and NPC react to you differently as well. However if you listened to Echoes from the Borderlands podcast, it was A LOT harder and much more expensive to do because it 4x or 5x amount of dialogues in the game + you need to script it.

@@sofielundsskolan I think OP is saying Zero didn't demonstrate that stereotype in BL3 as well as he did in BL2. Don't forget the golden rule of the Borderlands fanbase: If BL2 did a thing, BL3 did it much worse and we should make fun of them for it
One of my biggest gripes that you didn't mention is it seems once I have a full endgame build together, it's not the enemies that are downing me, but I end up either downing myself constantly from my own skills/splash or some barrels or other environmental effects. Gets annoying when its the only thing that is able to down you and constantly seems to happen after you've killed everything in an area leaving no chance at a second wind. Honestly yeah, personally what I'd also add is how your VH doesn't feel like they have an impact in dialogue. Like compared to Pre Sequel, depending on the character you played as (Except Aurelia for some reason thanks GB), they'd have different voicelines said to them depending on the character, like Janey flirting if you played Athena, or Jack telling you he disabled your door opening protocols when you're Claptrap on the one story mission to get to Jack's Office. The fact that wasn't in BL3 was mind boggling.
i remember randy flexing that it would be like the characters becoming more fleshed out only for it to be lazily done, the casts for the vh’s were really good tho

-Locking class mods and relics behind story progression.
-Bosses with invincibility phases
-Navigating Sanctuary 3
-No variation in dialogue in the main story depending on what character you play.
Class mods has always been locked behind progression, as well as additional gun slots since BL1. None of this is any different in 3, and it really doesn't even matter anyway. So many games make bosses with invincibility phases, and I get it, but I don't think it's more egregious in BL3 by far. Sanctuary 3 is really easy to navigate. If you can't figure out a simple ship layout like that then I don't know what else to tell you. The dialogue does have some variation, but it's a story. Why would they change the dialogue too much between? When you meet Ellie, Amara and Fl4k have completely different comments on her size, as well as other areas of the game. This feels like nitpicking to me. These are the most minor of minor issues I think I have seen anyone complain about with 3.
@georgen5882 I can navigate Sanctuary and Concordia easily. Sanctuary 3 has 3 floors, and when I have to report to an npc, that's on one of those 3 floors, then find myself on the wrong floor b4 checking the map. At least with the pre-sequel main story, the npcs had different things to say depending on which character you're playing. I checked with BL1 (both GOTY and enhanced), 2 , and Pre-sequel to see what you said about class mods being progression locked. It's not. Gun slots, I don't mind because I know I'll unlock them eventually. I've played a lot of games, but very few where the boss has an invincibility phase.
@@georgen5882it’s easy to navigate once you know it but learning where everything is was definitely a pain in the ass, and all of these complaints were pretty valid

The guns were the best part of the game imo, and the best in the series
Dont forget movement. Vaulting, sliding and slaming. You really miss them when you play the previous titles
@@MrBrankilla You really do.😂
The gameplay is what got me into the franchise. After BL2, I've been chasing that high since. Making good gameplay isn't difficult. The writing for BL3 and the movie (and casting) was a complete abomination. That's the sole reason 4 will be the only one in the series I don't buy on launch day.
I really hated what they did to guns DESIGN. Like in BL2 you always could tell what type of a gun is laying on a ground in front of you and what manufacturer is that on a sight of it.
In BL3 i swear i never know is that a rifle of a rocket laucher, a shotgun of a sniper rifle.
OP10 introduced months before BL3 completely broke Voracidous fight and they never bothered to fix it.
It also broke Gee, but everyone just smashes him with the gate anyway, so it wasn’t noticed as much.
It broke hyperious, gee and vora and they pretty much told us to go fuck ourselves after that
Broke as in very easy or very hard?
@@indiana47 For most builds, very hard. Both Voracidous and Hyperious can't be done legit with a lot of builds do to them having double HP at OP10. Still pisses me off that Gearbox won't spend a minute amount of time and money to fix such a major issue.
one big problem is the immunity phases
Yeah. Those were a problem in BL2 as well though: BNK-3R, Warrior and more. It feels worse in 3 because they actually show “immune” when you shoot them
I will take any time immunity phase for boss as long as it's telegraphed and expected. Electric invisible mages from Tina DLC is the worst.
I like how the Kastor fight in Wonderlands allows you to bypass immune phases
@@Ki11ersix I think BL2 did immunity phases a lot more diagetically though. BNK3R flies away and can only be killed once it's back on the platform, Warrior dives below the lava. BL3 just makes the health bar gray while they can still shoot at you.
@@Ki11ersix In BL3, they're also on mob enemies like those one awful annointed.
My biggest issue was that at launch, you couldn’t skip cutscenes.
Yeah, glad they listened and changed that.

This is what I'm worried about with the movie. I can't not hear the "butt stink" line in some of Tina's delivery.
I wish we had a auto pick up to Junk button
Amen
and so your dreams have finally come true
1) Instant leech as a % of damage dealt. It makes your HP bar either full or empty and necessitates excessive use of Fight for your Life Mode. Leech effects should rather trigger regen effects or uninterrupted shield recharge.
2) Self damage from explosions. These are games about blowing shit up with crazy guns and grenades. Why do I have to be my strongest enemy? You can't be hurt by your own Fireball in Diablo, so why do I kill myself with my shotgun in BL? If your own explosions just knocked you around they might even become movement tech
I think that's part of balance. Explosions are strong (look at Moze) so the self-damaging bonus is balancing it out. Otherwise you could just run and gun into the floor like crazy with many guns.

~Just to be clear, I'm not calling you dumb, or that wasn't the case, I'm saying the 30 minutes timer is dumb.
I know many people aren’t gonna bat an eye over this but im also not very happy with the graphics getting better. Visually it’s a stunning game but I feel like we have gotten away from the grittiness the first 2/3 had ; presquel did but being on the moon was harder since it wasn’t a wasteland. Last thing is they took out so many characters from 1, 2 who were a staple and just made them disappear. I doubt borderlands 4 will be any better, but if they can do it then I’d be grateful
Maybe this is just me, but I have always enjoyed the story line in games and the way you're character integrated into that. Different dialogue options, areas being more/less friendly to your character or even just different reactions from NPCs. Zane hits this hardest for me. He's built into the backstory so easily with his brothers, he has a history with Zer0, but none of the other characters ever acknowledge any of it. I know it's a niche gripe to have, but there are so many good opportunities for chemistry that just get missed.
Visual pollution is top for me. With certain guns (Light Show, Flipper), I will often look at the mini-map, line up my arrow and just hope for the best. Because seeing through the eye melting wall that is my half gun, half kaleidoscope rainbow generator is impossible.
My biggest problem is the system of obtaining quests. For example. In borderlands 2, you could grab side quests FROM Lilith, Mordecai, and Brick. But not Roland. It shows you who will die before they die. Same happened with Maya and Lilith in 3.
there is no way you ll pick up on that unless you already know that they are gonna die anyway
If we have to pay 250 Eridium to reroll a weapon then we should be able to choose the perk that we want!!!! Or reduce it to 50 Eridium per reroll. I have so many weapons that I want to reroll but don't have enough Eridium to do so.

After revisiting BL2, yeah that loot drop rate is so much more annoying than bl3, and it can be waaaaaay more annoying to see what's going on, especially in fight for your life making the screen go super dark.
I feel like the rarity in bl2 made it feel so much better to actually get the legendary though. There definitely were some enemies/items with stupidly low drop rates, which I hated, but I feel like the frequency and honestly (this opinion might be controversial) the amount of legendaries in bl3 water the tier down
Completely agree with everything. I don't think there are things, I would like to add. Yeah of course it would be nice to have mod support on consoles for example, but that's something that's quite rarely seen, because of how complicated it is, I am not mad that it isn't there.
Also maybe. Why here isn't a skip to after the end of main story like in BL2. Because when I want for example play a DLC right of the bat, then with the skip to lvl 13, I still miss class mod, weapon and relic slot, which are quite essential and I don't understand why they unlock slowly in the story or at all in the first place.
I have tried Modding on Console recently with PS4 and the Borderlands games, its not a fun process and you need to find the right mods you can use in the first place. Then to add, I have had games crash on quite a bit doing that to. So I finally just went and got a gaming laptop and skipped the middle man to mod.
Once I was playing coop and I somehow skipped story mission that gives you 4th gun slot. I still have that friend-coop high level Flak with 3 slots lmao. Not sure if it's a bug or I did something wrong.
Before they add mod support on consoles, they'll have to add native mod support on PC, and they haven't even done that yet.
The performance. Everything stutters (Including loot dropping as you can see at 4:13 5:20 and 5:33) and the menu doesn't work properly when using mouse and keyboard.

Agree with the farming point, especially as someone who played on the PS4. Also annoyed at all the unfixed glitches, overall number of legendaries (most of which are useless in mayhem mode), and total lack of viability of blue/purple items in mayhem mode (with the crit really being the only useable one).
It’s a very minor one, but I loved how when you equipped a class mod in bl2, it would change the class name in the HUD, but in bl3 it just stays as the base class names

I know the loot dropping is higher in BL3 but I hope they keep it the same, it makes new play throughs fun. Also at times it can be just as dismal as the others, the other day it took me 50 runs to get 1 Maggie….. I still play BL3 daily at this point because by yourself it is still the most fun for me at least.
True true, you get get more legendaries and experiment with them, which is always fun!
Maybe it's just me, but I think they missed an opportunity to make Tediore snipers. Throw them like spears and make elemental area of effect versions. Imagine a legendary Ramuh sniper, releasing a massive electric blast rivaling tesla grenades in reach. Perhaps a fire element Spartan with a massive melee boost or flaming arrow volley aftereffects. A non elemental Caveman with increased melee damage (fixed blade attachment) and no scope. A Dragoon sniper could work too.
I really hope that they experiment with different weapon types for each manufacturer. Like maybe adding a Dahl launcher that CAN (doesn’t have to) lock on to enemies. Or, at the VERY least, adding back the weapon types they removed for no reason (hyperion pistol, tediore rocket, bandit shotgun, etc)
i can feel and sense the pure anger and frustration in your voice during this video😭
What i find really disappointing in BL3 is that neither the Guardian who appeared at the end of BLTPS, nor Hector from Commander Lilith DLC had any significance in the overall story.
And whatever happened to Fiona and other characters they chose to ignore is also beyond me.
They hyped up a lot of great possible story ideas just to pretend they never existed
The vaults that there has been 3 games leading up to being this big world ending power is like a couple of blue guns and 6 eridium
I completely agree with almost all of this. I don't think you should be able to respawn dead teammates in takedowns but that's a non issue lol
A good compromise would be to put the respawner in a heavy enemy area
Respawn your teammates = respawn ALL the adds
Yeah I can get behind that
I would like a 'clear skies' weekend once a month in arms race. The chance to clear the entire map without time constraints would be awesome
As a Borderlands 1 player, I am 100% in agreement with the idea that BL3 has too much visual noise. It's such a cacophony of particle effect it reminds me of the worst aspects of Overwatch (a game a loathe.) In spite of its significant limitations, I return to BL1 every few years because of the art style and atmosphere. I'd really like BL4 to be more like BL4, but with (most of) the enhancements of BL3.
I'd love to see set bonuses make a return. I know they were only for the effervescent items in BL2 but I was really hoping they were going to expand on it in BL3 and that's why they were introducing them. Honestly the super high drops make sense for me in BL3 because of how many variables are on each piece of gear now. It just makes farming those perfect items a little easier. I hope anointments don't come back though. I know a lot of people like them but they just feel like an unnecessary addition to me. They were also way too powerful. If they do come back I at least hope they aren't as op as they were in BL3.
Set bonuses and custom weapon crafting is the thing I expect from BL4. This is one thing that is missing from Diablo-like games in Borderlands and it could add another layer of depth to the game.
Let's add in the obnoxious memory leak on Xbox one series X|S that makes the game almost unplayable for more that 5 minutes without crashing.

Ofc most of us would have preferred Invincibles but my one true grip with the takedowns is that there were only 2 of them, the way they were structured being "maliwan" and "guardian" made it seem like we would get one for each enemy faction yet at no point did we ever get a COV takedown or Feral takedown (not counting the double raid boss for that) which makes them feel like an incomplete pack, also the guardian takedown is just shit outside the 2 boss fights
As for BL2 my biggest gripe with the game is a general one, the entire second half of the story/game is of little to no consequence minus hero's pass/killing jack and is kinda tedious and at worst boring padding when compared to the first half, its like right up until you get to the fridge the game is grand, from the fridge onward its downhill if your not diving into any DLC,
- The fridge is no one's favourite zone
- the 2 Highlands areas feel just kinda there with some really not great quests, also it's where stalkers get introduced so wonderful!
- Caustic caverns exists for a handful of quests and easter eggs along with fighting crystalises if your into that
- Opportunity is conceptually cool but your only there for like 15 minutes in total if your not doing any side quests just so you can get the jack double pocket watch, it also has one of the most tedious and arse awful side quests to do in the entire game with protecting that constructor (though the dialogue is fun to hear on first go)
- Same applies to Lynchwood, the main quest chain and location are really cool, but its also an entirely optional location that the main story will never take you too so you can easily just miss it
- WEP is just padding for padding sake and is the absolute worst zone in the game, its tedious, awful and i'm sorry for this but bloodwing getting clipped does nothing to move the story along (its a great place to farm pearls though)
- Thousand cuts has brick, mcshooty and terra which are great but take them out and you have a basic bandit location and basic Hyperion location which happens to have the games most stupid absolutely nothing happens in the long run story mission in the game in "where angel's fear to tread"
- Eridian blight is absolutely the coolest zone in the game aesthetically but its just like Opportunity, if you skip the side content your there for like 20 minutes total, enter, get to raised bridge, go to Sawtooth, blow up bridge, do the fight to get into Hero's pass
- Sawtooth cauldron is a forced nothing detour filled with nothing, the idea of the bird's nest is cool but if you remove this zone from the game you lose nothing, you just get through the story a little quicker
- the two boneyard sections are nice for getting the bee, Saturn and seeing Fryestone but the pumping quest is a bit annoying and there isn't really many good reasons to come back to these areas outside of the Bee, Saturn and maybe the bone shredder 2.0
- and then yeah the Hero's pass and Vault of the warrior finale is pretty good even if the Jack fight is really easy for all his build up
I'd add lore continuity problems to the list:
Typhon is never so much as mentioned or hinted at before 3, yet he's the first vault hunter and you need to be constantly reminded of this from how he has been to every place you go in 3 to such a degree that there need to be multiple monuments to his existence on every map.
Ava: "I'm gonna be a siren someday."
Lore: that's not how that works...
Retcon: Apparently that is how things work now.
4:39 Damn and I just got all my loot up to 72 so I could get all my original equipment for my build and just learnt this, I certainly need to watch you more often
It could be because I got to the late game too late in the game cycle(basically this month), but I just find the end game of this game to be so confusing if u dont have someone you know to explain everything. Its really unfortunate because I loved getting to end game, but I really struggled to understand alot of the best ways to navigate end game content.
Interesting point, I agree to this, I basically skipped first 3 years of the game because... reasons, and only now I came back to enjoy it fully. However I also think that discovering the content and DLCs is part of the fun, so I don't mind. Me and my coop friend a few months back almost finished Maliwan Takedown - and only recently I discovered it's a raid run LMAO, we had so bad gear and we still almost did it, died last phase of the boss.
6:59 instanced loot makes me never wanna say this out of fear of them getting rid of it😂 I can’t play rpgs co-op without it
The main gripe that I have with borderlands 3 is not being able to get into a game with someone. I always get disconnected from shift. And apparently this is a problem in Wonderlands as well.
BL3 is also my favorite one in the franchise. My issue with it is a specific part of the story. After Troy got his powers it was blatantly obvious that Tyreen wasn't too happy about it. They built up all this awesome tension between the twins and it would have been awesome to see them eventually go head to head and then seeing Troy, the underdog, kill Tyreen and become a much more sinister villain. It was right there and they let it slip by. The amount of abuse that Troy endured from Tyreen would have made it difficult to not root for Troy, despite the fact that he was also the bad guy. That's what makes the best villains.
I think the Mayhem modifiers should work like Hade's Pact of Punishment, you get to choose the modifiers and the degree of those modifiers difficulty for your own personal challenge runs.
I hope all games with endgame content take a page from Hades 1 where you can make the game more difficult by selecting what enemy or player modifiers you want. More enemies, shorter time window, enemies do more damage, have more shields, etc.
I think my biggest problem after so much playtime is the lack of challenge. The only way to have a challenge is to handicap yourself, any casual playthrough you’ll get so many legendaries that are usually very good it feels too easy. Too little guns are good in bl2 and too many are good in bl3, I just hope bl4 will hit that sweet spot
Yup
I don't know that I agree with that. If you are running mayhem 10 or 11 you are really put into a small box of viable guns at one point. The best guns in the game outpace everything else by such a large margin that using one of the other guns feels shitty. They've always had a tough time balancing guns in Borderlands. Every version has way OP guns and way underperforming guns you never touch.
@@georgen5882 just using revolter alone you can make many many guns viable. And abilities are very strong themselves, iron bear and are clone busted, fade away is really strong, and Amara can punch a stupid ball towards shit that kills anything barely moving. And also anoints make a lot of shit good too
well, if you have hundreds of hours in this game or even thousands its logical you will eventually know the ins and outs of build making etc and lose the challenge.
You pretty much covered most of my complaints. I would also say the underwhelming unique and purple gear which got sidelined before it could be relevant because of the onslaught of legendaries. BL 2 had its share of lack luster legendaries, but BL3 is just loaded with them. Yet there are blue unique, purple, and E-Tech guns in BL 2 that were on par with many of the legendaies. I missed this in BL3. Carbuncle pistols were so cool, but got over shadowed by the over flow of legendary gear.
I just want raid bosses to actually drop stuff that's fitted to their loot pool. Nothing like getting through the hardest fights in the game just for them to drop a damn Malek's Bane or a Ten Gallon. And if they really can't be bothered with Pearls or other rarities, they need to tighten up drop chances and part variation so at least every Legendary that does drop is actually viable for a given span of the game.
What I do with the Eridium roles is that I have a backup character save. Reroll the certain annointment on the weapon. Store the weapon in weapon bank. Put back the character back up save slot back. Get the weapon from the bank. Save Eridium. PS4 tested.
My biggest issue is not making in funeral scene canon which solves SO many problems people have with Ava and the overall story.
Biggest problem with Ava is that she got Maya killed because she's a stupid fucking brat who couldn't stay in sanctuary for 2 seconds knowing how dangerous everything you are doing is and then proceeds to blame literally everyone but herself for Maya's death
I think finding attachments for guns that have rarity could be kind of cool too? I think this allows a smaller pool of legendaries since half of them suck anyways and make a grind for “building a god roll”
There were so many times they hinted at issue between the villains and i was like "oh this will be real cool, watch the tension slowly build yadda yadda" and it was like they scrapped that part way through the story line. Then whatshisface OG vault hunter they made a damn clown when we needed a serious character there. Just that overall tone shift was so frustrating.
Ava in general and having to "talk to Lillith" are taking the cake for me
I hate how when maya dies the vault hunter is just standing there with wainwright and hammerlock getting frozen
Wainwright and Hammerlock are during Aurelia
I want as well as weapons/gear to farm,
A “shiny” variant that glows and sparkles with a sound effect when you swap to it (with a cool-down timer to avoid it being annoying).
We all hate getting a “bad” legendary, but a “shiny” bad legendary? Yeah, gimme.
Also a “gun index” would be nice so when we kill a boss/named enemy and get their drop, the gundex updates saying where that is and what they drop, completing the Gundex would award a “Shiny” trinket that can be optionally applied to a weapon to increase the odds of finding a shiny.
Also, the shiny skin/effect/sound would be exclusive to farming and not a unlockable skin.
I have never heard the gun index suggestion before. I like it.
I really would've loved to take apart Weapons and built my own. Maybe not legendary but blue and purple guns. Imagine the possibilties.
my biggest gripe with the game is the deleted cutscene, where the 2 most hated characters probably wouldnt be as hated
For the life of me I will never understand why they deleted it.
@@vnshngpntprobably time constraints, as is the case with most cut content.
4:34 while I agree it's pretty cool that they added a mechanic ripped straight from a fan suggestion
They really need to work on the loot RNG in general, but red chests shouldn't anything less than blue... or maybe even purple. Opening a red chest to get whites and greens is such a disappointment it almost becomes why? --- and then on the flip side, the mrs has gotten legencdary out of the trash piles
I couldn't agree more with what you said here other than..."TALK TO LILITH!".
Seriously though, the QoL features that's BL3 brought with it were very much needed. I really like this game but BL2 holds that special place in my heart for the Borderlands games. I'd love to see a refresh of BL2 with all the QoL features of BL3 in it (and visually updated too but without the pollution of 3).
that would be the dream.
Visual pollution is definitely real, especially when you have a group of 4 all level capped blowing their loads at the same time the screen just becomes a seizure waiting to happen
Spread the loot pool and lower the drop rates, make blues and purples uniques useful, and the option to skip any dialogue/ cutscenes.
I've been playing borderlands for what seems like half my life, and I agree with everything you said. Borderlands is great, but they keep tripping themselves up with every new release and dlc. They say they listen to their fans, but how can they be with everything you listed in this video.
The list of things they fixed is much longer than this BUT still it makes no sense to me that they didn’t knock all of these out too
After 4 games they still have skin duplicates , why I get it if someone on your team doesn’t have the drop but apart from that are these duplicates just garbage that keep me from getting the drop I wanted .
Fun fact: The original Pearlescent weapons in the first game was a glitch, and then they decided to add it into the game.
On BL3: The story for me fell flat with the obnoxious little girl with what seemed to be no redeeming qualities. Also killing my main from BL2 in what felt like a garbage piece of story telling.
I think the Gunplay is amazing in 3, that's where it really shines for me.
I agree with everyrhing youve said but id also like to add that i wish they would have added more takedowns. I actually love the guardian takedown it remindind me so much of the feeling of doing a destiny 2 raid that i actually ended up going back to destiny i just wish there was more engame content and not just megga health buffed enamies (cough... cough... true trials bosses)
Cannot agree more with you on visual pollutions. I can't even play BL3 because I get headaches while I don't in BL2. I know there is some that like it but a slider or toggle would be a godsend.
No weapon customisation? How did they miss that? The optimal way to improve their current system is to implement a way for the user to disassemble a weapon and switch out parts (abilities).
Please for the love of god give us a quick reset for multiplayer boss farming
I missed the pearls and other loot variants. When i played bl3 i did like the game. But i felt like it just needed more. Simple things. And im glad you understand and pointed it out.
we need tto get gearbox to see this
Pretty sure they see all of these types of videos. I also said all of these things before over the past few years. Just compiled it all here
A detail that i absolutely hate is that the main menu doesn't have your character looking to the horizon with all his gear and with the camera rotating just like in BL2 and TPS, i just hate it
The plot is really lame, to a point where you as a main protagonist just vanish in the cutscenes, you don't matter.
I think either a button or just leaving map should respawn all enemies in a map or something like the bar fight for tourge tokens where you just restart a quest or something for the area.
Ava. That is all.
the nyriad siren lore being hidden like that hurt me, i love borderlands for the lore so much, if it wouldnt be for you i wouldnt even have known about those logs
One word : AVA.
The final boss, tyreen is hyped up to be the craziest one yet and she's smaller than both the destroyer and the warrior
Pretty sure my moze run couldve one cycled her were it not for invincibility phases.
