@@RushabhShahHome I buy based on value and/or based on the degree to which something adds value to my life. If this light makes my work easier and improves the aesthetic of my workspace and makes me enjoy my space more then I'm not sweating ~$50. It's just not a material amount of money for most with a decent income and less than what most spend dining out on any given day.
The irony is, the people that overthink and overanalyze complaining about low cost items. Evidently they either don't respect or understand the time value of money.
@@BlakeC341 I agree with you on a couple of point. Lets say a Person A earn $100/hr and the light is just 50 bucks. It would be call stupid to spend 2hrs searching for the light and then not buying it. So here the person is not valuing their time.
But having said that, I have little different views on spending. Its not whether this light is going to make my life easier or not- it definitely will but i dont agree on the price. You know why? cause i know the materials used. I know where it is manufactured(China lol). I know its not worth more than 10 bucks. Trust me when i say this its not worth more than 5 bucks to produce. So this is where I feel consuming such products and driving American consumerism is not good in long term. I dont mind paying 50 bucks if its made in America. Since i know my fellow worker might be getting paid 30-40-40 whatever $/hr. At the same time I and market shouldnt encourage and drive those products which devalues the currency and simple things like a water bottle will cost $30.
And what will be effect of prices going up? The salaries will have to increase at the same time inflation would be more than your raise. Which will eventually lead to a slump and a recession.
