At last! 15 years trying to identify this song! It's electronic music at it's best. A masterpiece, extremely clever and hypnotic. No idea how I got it originally but I used it whist developing a ocean exploration game, it was a great source of inspiration - it had to be called Blue Illusion! Tried every way to identify it. Even posted a video to youtube with it hoping for a copyright strike! In the end it was a recommended song to my son who went mad when he found it. Can you image somebody out of the blue shouting 'I found it' and in another part of the house I knew that it was this song!

I love that for you man. I always love hearing a great finding-that-song story! I often take for granted the power of technology we have today, that I can Shazam most of my song queries wherever I have internet access, which is most places I'll ever be these days. Long gone are the days of hunting down, trying so hard to find that long lost piece... And I think we do lose something in having everything so convenient like this. As you said, this song inspired a game you were developing, I do wonder how that development may have changed had you had the technology to find the song immediately.
I've only got one song in my life that I can't find, I've found pretty much all the songs I ever wanted to find apart from one, and I don't even know how to begin finding my long lost song 😂

Same! Well, discovering it in 2024. I had no idea B-Zet was so widely known for this stuff, I only knew him from his Archaic Modulation album and that was from an online radio station I listened to as a kid (RadioIO Ambient, now Musical Starstreams), so I assumed he was quite an unknown ambient artist but turns out he was well known for his techno!

There's a certain quality to some of the late 80's to 90's electronic music that you don't really get anymore. I can't quite describe it but "David Holmes - Coming Home to the Sun" has a really similar thing, this sort of simultaneously eerie but beautiful quality to the atmospheres, electronics, SFX, it really makes me nostalgic (though I was born IN the mid-90s) to the almost technological utopia view that some electronic music like this could bring about. A sense of wonder for the space age that we've definitely lost in the past few decades
A great example of true trance. And what it should have stayed like if the genre didn't get so popular by 1994. Techno with an ambient melody = true trance

I remember after school turn up the radio and listening to Ambient, Trance and Techno in the 90s, made me so relaxed that I fell asleep on my bed with loud music. It's so relaxing!❤
What Ralf Hildenbeutel and Sven Väth did with Eye Q, Harthouse and Recycle or Die was just magic!!! All their releases and artists where 'Hors Categorie'!!! Together with Fax records/Pete Namlook, Injection, Frankfurt Beat (Jens & Silvia Maspfuhl), some releases on Delerium, Klang Elektronik and the work of DJ Dag, Jam el Mar & Marcus LÖffel (R.I.P), they are my favorite 90's (Frankfurt) trance, techno & ambient house.

The only way to reproduce this kind of stuff again is to go back to Analogue recording of the music and then recorded onto Vinyl, assuming air pressure etc., is similar. So much more depth in Analogue Recordings, than Crystal Clear Digital Recordings from Sampling, even at a high bit rate, it is still missing its soul, a bit like people today. We should be finding new analogue ways of recording/playback, something even more sturdy than Vinyl. We stopped at Vinyl then shifted over to CDs, then MP3, Cloud based etc., everything is created on computers or goes through a computer at some point. It has made music more accessible to everyone and quicker to obtain, but there is definitely something missing at the heart and soul of the music, and the people! Just look around, it ain't right. Music was never meant to be Crystal Clear, because life isn't, there are layers and layers of sound.
If we want change we need to go backwards, to go forwards again. People just don't want to pay for it now and everyone wants a quick buck because they are most likely miserable or depressed etc., seems to be the way things are going, it's sad really.
I'm glad I experienced the 80s and 90s music, early 2000s were ok, but you could tell it was starting to go in the wrong direction mid 2000s.
