Market Cycles Report: Apr. 10, 2023 | Live - Dow-Gold-Ratio & Cycles
The Dow Gold Ratio expresses the DJIA as a multiple of the price of an ounce of gold. For investors, the ratio is valuable because it tracks the performance of stocks and gold. It can be used to determine whether the stock market is undervalued or overvalued. Static offsets for the Dow-Gold ratio prove to be a long-term guide and have worked very well over the past 100 years. But can cycles give us an even sharper view for shorter time frames? This is what I will discuss in this video.

Cycle scanner has Gold starting a downtrend and bottoms end of July. (148, 304 cycles)

Hi James - I think you talk about the daily (short-term) cycles, right? These need to be set into context of the longer term cycle which is pointing upwards for the fill year of 2023. I outlined both cycles in the video 3 weeks ago about Gold cycles.

​@@briansmith2836 Hi Brian, pleases be careful with your conclusion, I introduced the long-term cycle results -> pointing upwards into end of 2023 and the short-term cycle pointing downwards until July. I outlined different strategies based on the long-term/short-term cycle conflict. One never knows if the long-term cycle is stronger than the short term. These are different datasets - the DJ/GOLD ratio is more to show you your risk-balance between equities and defensive strategies (e.g. Gold) - the long gold/long equities strategy was just an example to explain you can use this information as simplified guidance. The DJ/Gold ratio helps to balance risk exposure to equities. The Gold cycle on its own helps to time gold long/short strategies. But as saied, I told you there are two cycles active right now, not only one. I would recommend to re-watch minutes 12-19m in the video 3w ago. Hope that helps. Regards, Lars
