She is not still producing milk and her daughter is/was doing that as a soothing skill. That's 100% on the mom for not showing her another way

This is all about the mother and not the child. The mother is super defensive and deflectice instead of taking the criticism to heart and really listening to it. Those pictures and that backstory if always gonna exist of that child. She couldn't consent to this being online because she's too young to make an informed decision. Tragic really

Honestly, I was shocked the first time I saw a toddle nurse, but learning more about it increased my own comfort level.
The average age of breastfeeding has been declining over the decades and formula (and it's marketing) is now big business. It would not have been uncommon at one time for much longer durations than we now see. All the health benefits to both mom and child are dose-related. Primates nurse until their molars are in, which would be about seven for a human.
I had two babies; one nursed until 5 and 1/2years, the younger weaned at just over three. Number one nursed longer for emotional and health reasons, aided by the renewed milk supply at the birth of number two, but the nursing was negotiable and more like a quick hug rather than like an infant needing a meal. It was great while it lasted, but I was definitely ready when it was over.
I once heard an older gentlemen recounting how he and his brother (then aged five and seven) used to jump off the bus after school 'for a quick swig' before going out to play. It was very touching to hear. I heard a woman speak of resuming milk production (small amount) during menopause. Whoever the second guest was, she shouldn't be speaking as if she is an expert.
The nursing mom is very well spoken and knowledgeable. Whatever your personal views or comfort level, it seems very inappropriate to have the second guest on to criticize or judge, applying her own opinions and experiences to another mother. Just because she wasn't comfortable when her child asked in public doesn't mean anything. Toddlers can be taught boundaries, 'as soon as mommy finished shopping and we get to the car', etc..
I am reminded of similar conversations around other aspects of parenting. We should all decide for ourselves, based on information, knowledge of our child, our own circumstances, and what works for our own family. Parenting is not about public opinion, nor looking down on others as if we know more about what's best for them.

The daughter needs better friends if they aren’t making fun of her for that

So her daughter broke up with her? She must have found a younger mother.

in third world countries if they can they feed as long as they can as lack of food reasons, but i think even those women dont feed that long maybe three or 4 but not 9, itisnt normal, its like child with a dummy hard to break, i think this is about the mother really
