I'm in an airport terminal right now, waiting to fly home to meet family and friends. I have a thesis to finish in two months, and I'm mildly freaking out. Yesterday I found myself questioning whether it all really matters and it made me feel really down. Ahora està con el oxigeno y bastantes pastillas. Pienso que en algunos casos el remedio es peor que la enfermedad .

I remember so well hearing this song over and over on MTV, and feeling exactly the same emotions I feel now. Bittersweet, melancholic, but in a good way if that makes sense. I definitely don’t feel hurt listening to it, but there is something about the overall melody that just naturally reaches deep inside. And now, with today’s ears, I can also appreciate the relatively simple banjo and the bass line which still feel exactly right, in service of the song. Masterclass in uk pop from its golden age.

When this song came out I lived in Austin Texas, and my ex-wife kind of like this band and had a CD. Of course no internet out as much then. Soon after they were coming to a venue that I worked frequently at as event staff at Stubbs in Austin Texas. When I got there I wasn't expected to be blown away! Ever since that show close to 20 years ago, I have loved this band! A little extra thing we got towards the end of the show when they broke into Hit me baby one more time by Britney Spears.
