Thanks again so much for taking the time to do a stream about Nucleus today Daniel! So happy that everybody enjoyed the library. Cheers from the Audio Imperia team: Jan, Tomas, and Simon
As someone new to orchestra libraries, I'm more glad every time I open Nucleus (my first full orchestra library) that I pre-ordered at $350. It's definitely competitive above that price, as well, from what I've listened to.
One of my favorite Daniel James first looks. Great balance of showing us All the Things; enthusiasm for the product; light comparisons against other libraries; and discussion of weaknesses/gaps. I don't have Nucleus, but I keep eyeing it (and Areia) due to my love of Jaeger. Maybe next sale!
Thank you very much Daniel. Ur awesome as always. I had expected the library to be good based on Yaeger but the solo offerings and the woodwinds still managed to surprise
Mate, this sounds excellent! Super helpful as I look for a cinematic orchestra library outside of the Spitfire stuff. Brilliant having one of the developers in the chat as you do this as well
I have watched this video before purchase of this library and while the review itself is great, I cannot stop myself from yelling "Jaaaaan!" each time I have even the slightest issue with it. My name is also Jan, so thank you for that. My wife now thinks I am yelling my own name when I am at my computer :D
I'm really considering this as a first library for me to get since I have been working with free libraries. This can be a birthday(November)/Christmas gift for myself haha.
I've been recommending Nucleus before I watched this video. Absolutely correct Daniel, this is definitely worth $449 and certainly puts questions on other libraries that do not give as many instruments and less articulations but with higher prices.
one of the first modern vsti that actually simulates after-touch, like the old hardware synths used to do. - oh, but adding the same reverb to each sample does make the sounds sort of same-y.
Awesome video Daniel! I loved the pads with the solo instruments. I just got Nucleus myself and I'm loving it. Do you find that there aren't enough velocity layers in in the timpani and gran cassa samples?
you could show how to work from a score of a string or wind quartet ... even if it is something short of 20 measures ..... and how to work with the different joints in the DAW ,,, from a sibelius for example .. ..thanks since now .
Awesome stream, definitely tempting me to get the library although I don't need it haha. How do you stream with Cubase? I've noticed that Cubase audio routing can be difficult to work with when other applications are involved (like streaming software)
I've been thinking about investing in this library for awhile and I think this stream sold me :) Note: Also what reverb do you usually fall back on? Is it Black Hole?
Random this but just curious. The little melodies you’re doing to test out the strings was reminding me of some of the pieces for the anime’s “to your eternity” composed by Ryo Kawasaki and “Vinland saga” composed by Yutaka Yamada. Just curious if you’ve heard them? If not it’d be interesting to get your opinions on them
Hmm, if someone has Jaeger, is Nucleus worth getting (I saw that the opposite situation was discussed earlier)? I see that Nucleus has some solo instruments which seems nice, but they seem limited in articulations. Would Nucleus be a worthy complement to Jaeger, or is there a better alternative? Thanks!
at this point ... what I think ... is that it should be modified or transformed ... the QUADRICULA ... which is already very old for this same action ... without the use of a score editor
Hi, I think Nucleus Core, Berlin Orchestra Inspire, and Albion One have the same price. Which one is the best, especially Berlin Inspire has single patches, ensemble patches, and percussion which is the same feature as Nucleus?
do the strings from nucleus and jaeger sound pretty much the same right out of the box? like are the sustain strings in jaeger pretty much the same as the sustain strings in nucleus assuming you don't mess with the default mic setting? or do they have a slightly different timbre?
Daniel, I am going to challenge you to write a song that has woodwinds at the center of the piece. That way it is a moment to learn instead of keep saying "I never write anything for woodwinds." Strings can accompany and the song will be 3 1/2 to 4 minutes.
Hi Daniel, i have a very important Question for me. Do you use a Expression-Pedal in this Video. All your Fingers on the Keyboard, but the Dynamics-Knop is turned.... Thanks a lot for your nice and inspired Music. Perfect
@@alexandrebaroni1057 Oh nice. I'm just starting out and currently thinking Nucleus might be the best start but don't know really. Do you know the difference between this and Jaeger? Any suggestions welcome, cheers :)
So i'm curious - what is the difference between Nucleus and Jaeger. I mean - if i buy Nucleus - why would i need Jaeger? What is the most obvious benefits of Jaeger? More mic positions, Meredith vocals, more round robins may be, what else?
You'll have more control over the sound with the mic positions. Nucleus comes with two mix mic positions only. So if you're looking for an all-in-one hybrid orchestra Jaeger is a fantastic choice. If you're looking for a your first orchestral library or something that you can use on your travel rig/laptop: Nucleus is a fantastic choice.
@@AudioImperia sounds interesting but if one buys nucleus, is jaeger same sounds but with more mic positions? is there an upgrade path from nucleus to jaeger then? if not what other differences are there on the actual sound?
So how do you install this? I downloaded it and it created a folder but also about 21 samples in .rar files. Am I supposed to extract those to a specific folder then open up my DAW and make sure it’s in there? There’s no real instruction on how to open these up in the DAW or correct way of installing these
You have to put each rar file on a CD and play each CD in your car's stereo while driving at exactly 21mph for 21 hours. A stupid comment gets a stupid reply.
Jet Lag damn that was super insightful and it actually worked! Thanks man! Thanks for your amazing comment. It’s good that you love to help people that have questions. Wish more people would be like you. Also like how you’re tough behind that little keyboard. Basically a tool that nobody likes. Douchebag replies get douchebag replies ;)..keep on being tough behind that keyboard bro lmao
Seriously considering this one. It sounds expressive and I'm not forced to pay for the full Kontakt version first and deal with the inferior library bloat. More companies need to make packs like this.
DJ: one point you are doing imho wrong.. you play multiple notes on a patch that already consists of multple instruments. E.g. 2 flutes or 2 oboes patches, when you are pressen two keys, you in essence are hearing not 2 flutes but 4. There is no auto divisi in this library, so it only adds up the amount of audible players. Doing 3 notes will in reality be 6 flutes! not 2. So please, for realism sakes, use the patches as should, only triggering one note, not multiples at the same time. (unless you want multitudes of instruments as given in my examples)
Rogier van Gemert I actually mention this in the video, I say it’s one of the perks. Because even with 12 player playing 3 notes it still sounds great. You probably couldn’t afford that many players in real life but you CAN with samples, meaning you can create sounds you might be financially restricted from trying in the real world. So I don’t think I am doing anything wrong, I am however doing things that might be expensive to translate to real world. My approach is: if it sounds good, it’s good. Don’t needlessly restrict yourself when you have the ability to experiment!!
@@DJLA Thanks for the reply. I thought you where talking about going beyond the range of an instrument, and not that it adds up the amount of players in a real played scenario. But now i see i missunderstood what you said in the video. :-)
