@@message22610 I lived in both U.S and PH and i can assure you in Metro Manila (National Capital Region)especially the old district like Quiapo, Ermita, Malate, City of Manila Area and QC Area, they honk more than here in U.S and metro manila honking can be very agressive too, I even remember when i was stuck in traffic for like 2 hours (Bumper to Bumper Traffic) I could hear non stop honks and a ambulance siren right behind our car who's also been struggling to move since people there rarely give way to emergency vehicles rofl.

some insights for non-local viewers :D The first area shown is mostly in San Juan City which is generally considered to be one of the most affluent yet lowkey residential neighborhoods in Metro Manila. A good indicator of this is the type and class of vehicles people use around the area. Being a local here in San Juan City, I consider this city as one of the least commuter-friendly cities as it is generally more convenient to own a private vehicle here than to ride public transport. The second part of the video generally covers the Ortigas business district. Due to it being a business hub, rush hour traffic can be hectic especially with rain involved. This area borders Mandaluyong City and Pasig City (all which are still included in the greater metropolitan manila area). EDIT: Thanks so much for this video!! It's actually very therapeutic and calming for me!! I personally love driving when the weather is like this!
Manila streets is like a mixture of Europe and Asia. It's just destroyed by the electric wires, it'll look more beautiful if they put them beneath streets.
yeah it would be better. but sadly the Philippines it literally sitting on a fault line, so it is prone to earthquakes. And they are expecting a big one eventually. that's why the wires are above ground.
Im a Filipino that just recently moved to the Chihuahuan Desert here in Texas, USA. I dont miss the rain. I loved the arid climate where I could go for a run outside 99.9% of the time. It only rained here less than 10 times since I arrived on December 2022.

That roadway sucks, too many speed bumps to go through. @4:34 this is so typical PH drivers, they don't seem to understand the right-of-way concept. The vehicle on the main/straight road has the right of way. So vehicles that are crossing and entering/merging from it must make full stop and yield to other vehicles. Most of drivers here have no training/seminars about it. They probably just bought their driver licenses, too.
One thing though, you got guts to brave driving in the rain on edsa. I absolutely hated that. I always have this fear of getting stuck in traffice in the middle of a heavy rain and the streets starts to flood. But surprisingly the streets were not flooded in your video.

Snippet: Couldn't you report the lack of drainage to build.more.better., construction crew? They are right now in-charge of gusali-repair; re-building; remodeling; replacing bako-bako streets; demolishing bad and old infrastructure, and etc. The video shows San Juan needs Drainage badly -- Pedro Guevarra St. is probably just one among many roads that needs a good rainfall drainage. The high wall with lomot is an easy fix -- replacing it with either new bldg materials or just plain new orange bricks should be it.
