about the "not that avi prone comment" in the video... yeah that bowl slides, even the steep skin track that's often put in slides. There's a reason you're not seeing lines in that bowl this entire season. The forecast still calls for Deep Persistent Slabs on ALL aspects in Revelstoke..
I agree with you. Any slope (especially above 30 degrees) should always be treated as 'avi prone'. Looks like a complex area to me! I didn't even notice he said that when I was editing. Thanks for flagging so people to get the wrong idea. Always check forecasts, assess snow and make your own judgements out there!
Glad you had a great time at Revy! I saw a line that I rode back in 2018, just when you guys were skinning out. Thanks for the vid!
Glad you enjoyed it! Can't wait to go back and time a storm!
Being born and raised in the area around Revelstoke, Whitewater, Red Mountain, etc. Your videos give me such a beautiful nostalgic feeling. Haven't gone Skiing in about 10 years myself, but that love of the mountain never goes away. Keep up the awesome vids!
Love that I can bring out that feeling for you. The best feeling in the world. Glad to hear it never goes away :)
I’ve been waiting to see this for a looong time. Awesome!
Glad you liked it!
Enjoyed that. Always good to see good skiiers, including "you're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation" situations un their vids. Loving the RevelSTOKE
hahaha thanks Hannes!
Some great views up there and lovely powder.🇬🇧
So much vertical at Revy. One of the all time best to ski top to bottom. Need to come back for some super deep pow.
Great video guys incredible terrain you guys are just shredding it
Thanks Jack!
Hey thanks for that! I miss Revy! Was nice to take me there through your video! Revy's got the best snow!
Such good snow out there! Going to have to go back for a big resort powder day!
W0W! Beautiful!! Those were some amazing powder lines to follow---but I wouldn't want to take my eyes off those sudden terrain drops between the trees! It sure does look like Paradise, though..................🎿⛄ Would love to ski there. 🎄(But I might need TWO of those firecracker bottles!) Lynn in NYC (where we sure love skiing "Cement City")🗽
It totally is Paradise here. Hope you're enjoying the Big Apple!
That was sweet...
Yeeeeew!!
Thanks for tuning in Chaz!
Revy is an awesome mountain!! Absolutely love the videos you post, I look forward to watching them every time!!
Thanks Jayden! Looking forward to hitting Revy again with a big storm, it would be epic!
@@riseandalpine It’s an amazing place to be with lots of pow on the ground!!
Keep the videos coming! They keep getting better and better. I was also wondering what you would rate glacier wall at whistler.
Thanks King Parker! Glacier wall is fun and totally depends on the size of the cornice and snowpack in terms of difficulty. Sometimes you can string together a really cool line in there.
Thanks might try next time I’m at whistler.
Looks amazing
Super sick hill!
Went here right before COVID. Amazing place, makes the largest Australian ski lift look like a small terrain area. The trees were another level, it was my first time with hike to terrain and I just want to go back so much, preferably with someone as crazy as me
Glad you got to experience the stoke. Are you already planning another trip?
awesome video thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it Tony!
Fantastic videos!
Thanks Holly :)
Banger vid man!
Thx Arjun!
Revy looks sick! After skiing in Banff 2 months ago for my first time skiing out west, I’m already planning on buying the ikon base and hitting up revy and others in southern BC!
I'd love to try the mountains on the Ikon pass as well, would be epic!
I recommend the mtn collective if you can plan to be in the Banff to Revelstoke area. Also plan a road trip to Salt Lake from Calgary. 16days of free skiing if you plan the route carefully.
@@robertcampbell9364 yeah I’ll look into that for sure. I live 2 hrs from Tremblant, as well as other Ikon mountains in the northeastern US, so even if I don’t go out west next szn, I can still pay off the base pass if I ski locally!
2 more days until I'm in whistler
Sick!!!! - sounds like we just had a good dump
@@riseandalpine yep
That looked like a fun day.
Such a blast!
nice!
Oh man, best day ever! At least equal first. Thx for all the Stoke...
Thank you for tuning in!
Gettin the stoke eh! Sweet! I'd love to get a weekmonth-ish out there at the stoke : )
A few weeks out there would be sick! I wish I could stay long enough to wait for a massive storm.
Revy's blue is like most resorts black, but go to kicking horse its even steeper then revy
Blue's don't even exist at KHMR 😂
I’m going in 2 weeks and I’m really pumped
Right on! Hopefully you get some awesome storms!
Such a great video! Just very real and you guys were having so much FUN! Revelstoke seems like a great mountain. How is the terrain, vibe and access compared to Whistler/Blackcomb?
It was a blast at Revy. Vibe is more low key than Whistler and usually way less lift lines. The stoke chair is a high speed so you can get alot of skiing in. It has a great mix of terrain and the vertical is pretty unbeatable. Lots of super creative drops and natural features. Not as many intense chutes, steeps and alpine bowls as Whistler, but Whistler is just so damn big. Transportation there is harder, I mean you can't get any easier than the Vancouver airport and bus ride to Whistler. Backcountry access was super solid as well. Not as majestic as Blackcombs backcountry but still looked like a lot of gnarly lines.
I love Revelstoke!
Loads of fun!
Been nervous about my fam wanting to hit this hill. Thanks for this video.
No worries! Have fun up there.
@@riseandalpine you gave a reasonable video of the place. Everyone else posting are just sending it off cliffs… I was worried for real
Amazing video!!!!!! That rope was ridiculous!!! I would would never have done that lol
Thanks! Rope was super freaky hahaha.
What has been your favorite mountain so far? Mine has been Big Sky Montanna
What binders where you hucking and skinning on? Handled. Great vids.
They are the Marker Duke PT 16's - I absolutely love em'
Great clarity of your camera, whatever it is. would like to see a good powder day with your camera, someday. good skiing, sounds like you're careful.
Thanks for watching Kevin! I was using a go pro 11 and insta360 X3. We try and be as safe as possible out there.
What are your thoughts on using a touring setup for resort skiing? Trying to decide my next setup and notice you have a setup similar to the one I want to get!
If you're going to use it a lot on the resort like I do I would run the Duke PT bindings, A Cast/Look Pivot system or classic frame bindings.
You will have a very heavy setup but it will ride just like a resort ski, keep you from pre releasing and not wear down on your pins.
It’s ya boy skinny p got me dying
Hahaha IYKYK
11:50 rob with some great chirps
hahahaa "There's easier ways to get face shots bud..."
i'll be at whistler apr 4&5 maybe ill see ya there if ur back wweeoooo
Sweeet! Should be kicking around the hill around that time
I have recently bought kingpin 13 touring bindings. I have never toured but thought it’s time to learn. Did you ski all runs inbound and out in tech bindings in this video.
Just trying to figure out my limits with these bindings over my griffon 13 Mnc
I've got Marker Duke PT's. They've got a full resort toe-piece so not the same as riding a tech binding in bounds. However, I've got friends who often ski tech bindings on the resort. You can push those tech bindings super hard. It all depends on your weight/DIN and ski style so I'd recommend easing into it. If you're riding resort all the time in them you might risk wearing the toe pieces/breaking them faster. Let me know how it goes, I'm interested to hear.
Hey man! Great video. Which bowl did you go down on the last run? I'm trying to locate that on the trail map for my visit at the end of February. Cheers!!
Oh, South bowl :P
You got it! Sick you're visiting in Feb.
Which day were you at Revelstoke? My friend and I were there on the 23rd and 24th!
Hey!
I think this was like the 9th or something of March!
The chute at 5:30 is called brown shorts! First ridden and named by a dude named Chris Pawlitsky if I'm not mistaken
Hilarious name! I'd love to ski it. Do you know if it's accessible from the back or do you just boot straight up the couloir?
@@riseandalpine I believe you go around the right, if you kept going from the chutes you were on you get there eventually, like 1+ hour?
Is there any runs on whistler like 1:36 I mean this mountain is super intersting
ALSO YOU SAID YOU WILL KEEP USING THE WORD Fundaginiling 2 months ago
Whistler's got some chutes but not all lined up in a row like this.. Fundangiling is the best!!!
you are so lucky I would love to snowboard on this I’m stuck at grouse 😢
Plan a road trip!
I got the Grouse y2play and it gives you 2 free days at Revy
those ski poles are nice! where did you get them?
They are Black Diamond Expedition 3 Poles but I don't really like them. Black diamond makes the worst pole tips in the industry in my opinion. The flex tips have snapped on me 3 times this year. Poles themselves are good but I might just save them for hiking and not bother wasting money on tips again.
@@riseandalpine thanks! if you need to upgrade, what is it gonna be? using your research for my next pole.
KICKING HORSE side country ?
as a aussie been to whistler twice and twice to kicking horse
quieter resorts snow stays great cold dry temps up high
KickingHorse is epic and the quieter resorts and interior snow is magical.
what do you film with
Hey Ewan! Go pro hero 11 and the insta 360 one X3
What month did you go to revy and when would you return again?
I've gone in March the last two years. Revy is fun for sure but I've never landed epic conditions. Had better experiences other places like Fernie, Sunshine Village and Silverstar
Revy was sweet in 10/11. Now, if you got the bucks, sell your bitcoin or whatever, have at her. Much less snow. Buy a house, ha!!
what bindings do you use?
The marker duke PT 16's. Absolutely love em' on and off the resort.
@@riseandalpine thanks!!
these are my kinda laps
What time of year was this?
This was around March 6th I believe
Revelstoke such a good mountain, those chutes are amazing on pow days
Revy is super sick - would love playing around there on a powder day. So many natural features to jump off!
How's the snow condition? I'm going to Whistler 4/16 and spend over 15 days over there to ski. Do you think the snow is going to be good at that time?
i think whistler will be closed by then only blackcomb will be open. probably not all the lifts open and mostly slushy
Literally no one on earth can predict the snow condition 2 weeks in advance. Expect spring conditions, prepare for ice.
Conditions were good right now. Spring conditions are common that time of year but sometimes the snow gods will provide us with a storm or two.
The bowl is "Not that avy prone" It literally goes off every time there's new snow and people have died there.
I agree with you - that's complex terrain!
If a slope is above 30 degrees it's avy prone.
Thanks for flagging that!
Is it just powder everywhere all the time at stoke?
What day of the week was this?
This was on a Sunday!
@@riseandalpine Holy crap! I need to get up there
Revelstoke or Whistler for a season?
Both are awesome and you can't go wrong! Honestly, maybe whereever you can land work and housing!
@@riseandalpine Thanks man!
LIZARD man 2.O
THE LIZARD MAN IS ALWAYS LICKING!
completely and utterly pitted
Hitting the lip. WAPOW!
While you guys are paying bob to ski on his mountain I’ve been buying up real estate all over the world. Keep skiing because I don’t want any competition
Sounds like you've got your finances figured out! I'm happy as a clam saving just enough and enjoying a life in the mountains. Whatever makes you happy Saiylor!
Can I couch surf at some of your spots if I'm ever in the area :)?
SHHHHHHHH keep it quiet! Too many idiots already coming to Revy!
Without easy flight access it should always stay fairly quiet!
