Hi just bought my first bar waiting for delivery am new to this and planning on a long term investment already planning my next purchase. My question is have you sold or tried to sell any of your bars and what was the outcome. Thanks for the videos have learnt a lot.
I don't personally purchase bars for two reasons. The first is they are easily faked and when reselling to a private individual it can be difficult to prove its authentic. The second is bars attract capital gains tax. Sovereigns and Brittanias do not attract this tax, and the Brittania has such intricate detailing, including a laser etched hologram, that it's not yet been faked.
In terms of selling, I've never had a problem. I'm a member of several groups on Facebook and have sold and bought via those without issues. My recent purchase, mentioned above, was from a trusted seller in one such group.

I havent bought silver since 2016 and gold since the dips in August and october but then agian i have a higher percentage of gold in my portfolio than i probably should. Just be careful buying at ATH it ssafer eith gold but had you bought silver in 2011 or in 1980 youd still be underwater 13 and 44 years later . Buying at ATH is far riskier than buying dips .

Gold is a constant consistent commodity. I think silver has the best potential but also the most risk

Silver isn't risky. In a couple years I see it going to $50 per oz.
I'm a new stacker and only have 3 x 1 ounce gold bars plus gold and silver coins. But now worried about this cgt. They said is coming down to £3000 which you can easily hit with a few bars. Do you pay it on silver as well?
You do pay CGT on Silver Bars yes.
Remember cgt is only on the profit you make from the sale, not the full amount 👍

Hello mate, great video 👍 and are we going to see FI get his first sovereign? 😁 im very torn on what to do at the minute mate, i dont know if i should carry on putting so much into gold each month or if i should half the amount while prices are high, or if i should get a little bit of gold and silver each month.. i really dont know what to do lol
Hey Luke! Quite possibly in the future I’m sure I’ll have some Sov’s.
That’s a tricky one. It depends on your investment plan but as I believe you’re a similar age to me. I don’t think the price of gold right now should worry your purchases to much.
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the next best time is today.
The same will be said in 20 years.
