Apparently you had a very sheltered and good life. There are a lot of awful parents who don't care what their kids do no matter the age. They leave cigarettes/alcohol/etc just laying around because they only care about what makes them feel good and disregard their children. Other kids can try stuff like that due to friends they might have. It really just depends on how you grew up. This stuff actually happens on a daily basis, we just don't always see it. If you've never seen it you'd never know it was happening. I mean I started trying when I was younger. Granted it was always at home, usually just a little taste too, and it was to prevent me from getting alcohol poisoning on my 21st. Lol
You know, where I'm from it's pretty common to see kids smoking and drinking. I'm 13 and almost all my friends are smoking, most of them started when they were 11 and on birthday parties the point is to get stoned and drunk. Of course, parents have no idea about this because it's soooo easy to get weed, cigarettes and alcohol. Literally every small store will sell you anything even if you arent 18 (thats the age when you can legally start doing all of that here). Honetsly, in most parts of the world it's like this. Pretty terrible if you ask me

Heh y'know this actually stopped me from jumping today. But sometimes other people cut you, change you, break you, kill you, even if people start as happy as a puppy, they can break, they can snap, they can or can't recover. Ten years oh verbal abuse broke me, after a while I controlled the insanity. I still let it out, just so it doesn't get to piled up and I loose control. We died watching this together because she had a dream recently about a guy with Black hair and Tan skin flirting with her. We only watched this because of her 'character' and then she joked saying 'this'll be my future boyfriend' then we continued to watch and see him have tan skin and black hair. She had a heart attack while I fell off my bed laughing and her screaming. 'NO NONONO' over and over before bursting out laughing with me.
