    I bought a brand new tig/stick welding machine that is awesome for $1900 best investment for the price and it comes with a huge warranty. I would also suggest a 3 in one Box break sheer and roller they are $450 and made me the money back in a weekend.

    I’ve got a 155 amp Cigweld, Weldskill mig, tig, and stick welder. That can run gas or gas less mig and plugs into a standard wall plug (in Australia). I’m also going to build your design of a rocket stove and try and sell them locally so I can buy more tools. Your definitely an inspiration for the work I’m doing

    The Everlast PowerTig 185 DV is a good bang-for-the-buck TIG machine.
    -- The air compressor is a challenge for some people. An 80 gallon 2-stage 7HP unit is really what a person needs. 25 CFM. That type of machine is a game changer.
    -- Milwaukee does make a cordless 90 degree die grinder. It doesn't have the duty cycle of an air powered one, but when you team it up with a variable speed angle grinder, you can get by without having to use a sissy Dremel tool.

  • @simplytrolling6869

    I 100% agree with you about the size of the compressor. I screwed up and went with an 8 gallon compressor and I have a hard time running a 3” cutoff tool. The amount of air needed for some of the tools is unreal. I mainly stick to corded/cordless. The rocket stove plans are much appreciated!

    I'm a welder fabricator from the UK 🇬🇧 you Americans always seem to use cut off wheels and grinders without the safety guard on! I'm not talking about the air grinders as I know they're made to get in tight and difficult spaces! But if that cut off wheel bursts or bites the you're hands or face will take every bit of that wheel at 5000rpm!!

    Prefer the 4 1/2” or 6” electric angle grinder with cut-off/grinding/sanding wire wheel and flapper for cutting/dressing metal by far, although the pneumatic does stay much cooler in your hands while working. Strongly dislike the paddle switches by the way, the stupid safety locks always get stuck locked open. On my Milwaukee grinders anyway. I work in the field exclusively, and to carry pneumatic tools would mean a higher weight plate on my truck so I don’t. But I do keep a grinder setup with each style disc so the tools can cool and I don’t waste time changing out for each process. And I carry a big shop vac in my truck that has an integrated leaf blower which I use instead of an air compressor blower. Not as powerful but it does push grinding dust across a sidewalk. Tuesday all day I was welding (2) 4” square tube as legs onto each of these trays with a 2” high lip all the way around and between the slag and spatter there was quite a bit of debris. The blower made quick work of cleaning them out to prep for primer. If I were in a shop all day there is no doubt the air compressor would be the second most if not the most versatile tool in the building. Besides myself of course lol
    I like your videos a lot. You’re all right man. Thank you

  • @TIGFab97
    @TIGFab97 Před 4 lety +1

    For homeshop? Sorry I don't really understand the air compressor being on the first place. # 1 an air compressor is a very efficient way to power tools like that. You turn power in to rotational. Then to compressed air and then turn it back to rotational in your tool. So many energy loss compared to just turn power directly in rotational movement to cut youre workpiece. I understand, air powered tools are very nice. but I think it's good in the workshop at your work. which is already running on a compressed air line.
    #2 it's not a device ment to clean stuff and cleanig your workshop with compressed air is not the right way by just blowing all of the dust in the air.

    my dream is to build a cbr 1000rr powered mid-engine miniature car capable of long range road legal travel and group A rally. its gonna have gullwing doors, a full 80s styled interior with a chromoly steel rollcage, a quick release steering wheel, sequential transmission with paddle shifters if i can manage hydraulic lines, and two racing grade bucket seats with harnesses. also a kick ass stereo system. the whole car itself is going to be sub 1000 lbs depending on whether or not i custom build the sub frames or drop them out of something at the scrap yard. if my math is correct it should be capable of at least 130 mph. if im a good enough fabricator by then, i wanna have a torque converter that allows awd. it'll probably resemble something along the lines of a dmc12 mixed with a 80s porsche 911 and a rs200 evolution.
    its gonna be really hard and a really lengthy project but it'll be so worth it. guestimating it to be around 10-12 grand not including equipment

    I want to fill a garage with metal working and automotive tools. Its a dream of mine that no one cares about. My aunt told me to plant a vegetable garden, read books and learn the guitar. I told her im not my brother or a middle aged woman. I told you what I was interested in and you tossed it in the trash. My dads the same way. And they wonder why I never talk to them. Sorry but I dont want to spend my time around people that would shit on my dreams. Family or not.

    • @michaelosmon
      @michaelosmon Před 4 lety

      People can be self centered, I know sometimes I am. We all make mistakes and we all have flaws. I’m not tryin to make excuses for your family, but when I find something that centers me and brings me joy, I try to get the people I love to try it as well. Sometimes they don’t, and sometimes it’s a bad time to bring it up. That’s where I’m self centered a lot. I don’t think about if my girl will like a tig welding video, I just put it on because I like it and I hope she’ll learn something so when I talk about it her face doesn’t go blank. I realize it’s not the same, but it is along the same lines.
      I keep telling my nephew to go get a job at commonwealth Edison, but that’s because if I were his age knowing what I know about the job market and benefits and what not, that is the best company around to work for and you don’t get burdened with any college debt if you go become a linesman. Every truck has a fridge, coffee maker, microwave, they treat you exceptionally well, and you get great benefits and all the ot you want. I say it because if I had done that as a fresh high school graduate, today I’d be in much better shape in many regards. But he’s probably terrified of heights and more so of electricity. It’s probably not for him. I hope and pray that I haven’t made him dislike me or lose respect for me because I just want him to have a happy and fulfilling life and I tried to steer him in the best direction I could think of.
      Pardon my rambling, this is not meant in any way to be offensive. From the heart. You will get your garage full of tools, one piece at a time like we all did. Try to buy quality and you’ll only buy it once. My 6¢

      @jeffpv. Před 3 lety +1

      A lot of people (especially as they get older), try to give advice based on what has worked for them in their life. I wouldn't get upset, they probably have good intentions. Everyone has different interests. I think family giving advice, whether it's regarding school, hobbies, or life is pretty normal. My dad taught me many things, but mostly what not to be, which I suppose is still a valuable life lesson that has taught me to respect and treat others better. When I was younger, my uncle had lots of tools and equipment. I remember saying, "I could never afford all this". He told me he couldn't afford to buy everything at once either, and that on every payday he would buy a tool to add to his shop.
