- Another super fun MA-Shops (www.ma-shops.com/) sponsored half pound world coin search in my ongoing series - was able to get a ton of bags to search, and I can't wait to go through them with you. MA-Shops is a trusted online marketplace for coins from all around the world, including ancients, medieval, U.S., and even paper money. I get these bags from different coin dealers who I have connections with, and unbox them coin by coin, looking for rare, old, collectible, or even just neat coins that unveil history from all around the world. Today's selection was fun and provided us with some neat learning - hope that you enjoyed!

A lot of good finds in this bag! The Norwegian 10 øre from 1888, King Oscar II, is in nice condition. Nearly full details on the crown, shield and the lion on the reverse side, and so on the monogram on the adverse. Also still some original lustre. I think you have to pay between 50 and 80 US $ for a corresponding coin in a coinshop in Norway. Lowest mintage (500.000) for this year. The small 10 øre 1874-1903 is the most common silver coin you find in Norway with metal detector. I have found about 250 of this type since 2011, but only two of them from 1888. The 12 skilling, King Oscar I, is also a collectible coin, I will think about 25-30 $ in this condition.
Happy hunting! Trond G.
Indeed, great finds.
Thanks so much. That is really interesting info! Glad to hear that it's more in the $50-$80 range, I was a little more pessimistic. And really well done on doing that well with a Metal Detector! Congratulations!
Watching this while studying in Tunisia, interesting to see that old Tunisian coin!
Whoa! That's gotta be a super cool experience!
That 1/4 Yang and 1-1/4 centavo coins were killer finds bro!
Thank you!
9:57 Wow, what a find! That's a 1/4 Yang from Korea from Gwang Mu Year 2 (the second year of the Korean Empire). 100 Fun = 10 Chon = 1 Yang, and 5 Yang = 1 Hwan. 1/4 Yang is equivalent to 2 chon, 5 fun. I'm jealous!
That's a score!
Thanks! I think it was definitely a nice coin!
You're becoming an expert on world coins.. Excellent video.. Thanks T.T.

On that 1960 one shilling it is a Scottish one they made two different type one Scottish and one English although both circulated in all of the UK
Love the videos!! Keep them coming brother.
Thanks! Will do!
Nice finds again.
Thanks again!
The first coin, the king at that time was Umberto I, who reigned from 1876 until he was shot in 1900.
Edit: the Five Ore coin is Swedish and the reigning monarch was Gustav V, who reigned from 1907 until his death in 1950.
That quarter yang coin is from the pre-Japanese invasion of Korea, between like 1895 and 1910.
Interesante vídeo gracias por compartir un abrazo buenas tardes 👏👍
Thanks for another fascinating video from Pittsburgh token to Norwegian coins to Korean. Great entertainment and history lesson.
Thank you so much!
Cool stuff
Thank you!
*Very cool finds mate, especially those from the 1800s. Love this coin hunt videos. I'm curious to see your collection if it's possible to make a video in the future. :)*
Will do - especially as I complete continents!
@@TreasureTownCoins that would be awesome. 😀 Can't wait to see them.
Interesting, the old coins from Norway, which didn't exist until 1905 when it split away from Sweden.
Could have been provincial of sorts - I'll look into it!

Do you separate each country in albums or flips?
I generally end up keeping one from each country, and sell most of the rest.
Who would you recommend to purchase from
There aren't too many good sellers - when I find them, I try to buy most of their supply (it's really mostly from 4 or 5 local sellers who don't vend online), but some who are just contacts of mine.
I have some of those coins and coins to show if valuable
Could you share with us (via comment or perhaps a video) how you personally catalog/file/store/document your coins ? Thanks
That's an interesting question - I will in time. However, a basic overview is grade the really expensive stuff, and then have a DANSCO 7070 / non-valuable but cool world coins in 2x2 cardboard flips. I try to sell off / keep inventory moving that isn'y in my core collection as I'm a college student and need to fit most of it in a small bank deposit box.
@@TreasureTownCoins Thanks (so far) for the tid bits of info! sounds like you dont really keep lots of coins in labeled plastic containers
What is the value of the 1/4 Yang?
Probably about $15-$20, but I could be wrong. That's just off the top of my head.
Hey looking for a good bulk world coin source. Ebay doesn't seem trustworthy
The best sources are going to be unpicked from local sources who don't have time to go through it (or go through it extensively, sometimes they pick out silver but leave good clad in)
