- @BMDPortraits shares another real-time colored pencil drawing tutorial focusing on realistic skin Tone. On this drawing tutorial i begin by sharing with you my thought on picking the right combination of colored pencil shades to combine and create realistic skin tone based on a particular reference photo. Because i can see that a lot of you find it very hard picking out the correct colors to layer and blend together and produce realistic skin tones that are close to the reference photo. Seasoned artists have different take on this, however i am just sharing my own process based on experience as a realistic portrait artist. There are millions of portrait artists around the world and i want to reach as many as possible with this colored pencil drawing tutorial especially beginners and struggling portrait artists. This colored pencil portrait is going to drawn using Prismacolor Premier and Faber Castell Polychromos on Strathmore Mixed Media Toned Gray Paper.

I really enjoy watching your real time videos with your in depth explanations on your process! Especially this one with how you choose your colors! I have the hardest time deciding which colors to use as well! So thank you very much!
I'm so glad!
Waiting for part 2 😁
Your THE BEST on explaining about color pencils thank you👍🏻👍🏻
You are so welcome!
I love your accent. I'm English speaking American and I love watching artists of many different mediums on you tube who share their knowledge and process. I love watching just as a spectator, as I find artists like you amazingly talented and interesting even before I was interested in trying these mediums out for myself. I wouldn't consider myself as an artist, but always had an interest, and rarely dabbled a few times through out my life. Now that I am retired, I actually have time to do what I like, and have started watching art videos not only to marvel at their incredible artwork, but for information to help me learn how to acquire and use different skills and techniques. I have watched & subscribed to quite a lot of non English speaking artists, even though I don't understand the languages they speak, their work is so beautiful & inspiring, it doesn't matter that I don't understand their words, I still find value in watching their process. The ones that do speak English, or that have English subtitles I naturally watch more, because although I do love watching the visuals alone of artists creating art, it is twice as good when I can understand what they are saying. I am glad you are speaking English, because you have a lot of great information that I would be missing out on. You speak wonderfully, I can perfectly understand everything, and your subtle accent is very charming!😊
wow, thank u so much....i needed that 4 my confidence.....i hope u continue to pursue it, never too late.....Enjoy d art journey!

Have you ever tried using an underpainting done with airbrush ink? I’ve been doing it on gessoed panels. As well as using Createx illustration acrylic.

Hi
Your channel is the most helpful for people like me new to portraits.
Thank you so much.
Can’t seem to find the follow on video which completes the picture using coloured pencils on toned paper.
Kind regards

.
Thanks 4 d kind words, it's very encouraging!
What colors do you have for "11.14"?
I'm trying to convert it to polychromos. 🙏 🥂🍾
This looks so interesting but just so you know, there are folks like me (neurodiverse types with ADHD, Autism, and so on) who cannot look at the bright flashy banners that you have jiggling up and down, without developing intense discomfort or anxiety. Your content would not suffer without them. I'm sorry - l couldn't even begin watching. :(
Im so sorry, ill take note of that...
Hello po. I really love your works! 😭❤️ San po kaya pwedeng bumili ng flesh tones na pencils lang?
