This was on of my husbands favorite songs. And yes, he absolutely loved fall. He passed away two years ago. Last November I arranged a memorial mass for him. At at the end of the mass the brilliant cantor and pianist sang/played this song. Everyone cried, especially me. Now, this song holds a blessed place in my heart. Thank you for lending your voice to this beautiful, blessed song. I cannot thank you enough. It means the world to me.

"It is good to cry in ceremony, it reminds the gods that we are still their children." When I tried to get an attribution for this (I think it was Black Elk), all the returns were helpful articles on how NOT to cry. But we know better.

I recall hearing this incredibly beautiful song on the radio as a teenager when I was vacationing down in Puerto Rico back in the late ‘70s. I wasn’t exactly fluent in Spanish but knew a wonderful piece of music when I heard it. Since then I have found and listen to the “War Of The Worlds” soundtrack in SACD 5.1 Surround Sound format which makes this song even more amazing. Well done, Justin...truly one of the somewhat unknown classics that I still love 40+ years later, especially at this time of year.

Kudos to the max for this 'stingy' version of the song.
I mean, nothing superfluous is present. And, nothing is wasted.
All of the most important parts are still there, with so few musicians.
    Ad in paper:
"Musician seeks flute and keyboard players with exquisite vocal ability, especially for harmony singing, to make a music video. Attractive blonde females with a dance background paid extra".
I cant believe Justin Hayward is 77 years old.
    Different subject:
Growing up in Ohio, the fall was very special to me. The colors, the smells, the promise of first winter snow in the air when the clouds hung low, and a chill hit your skin in that familiar way.
You really don't miss some things until they're gone.

Justin is now in his 70s his vocals are as crisp as ever. I watched and listened to a 1978 performance right before this and Justin's voice is just as beautiful as it was then! Pure beauty!! ✌🎤💙😍

Saw The Moody Blues live at Radio City Music Hall in 2005. What a concert. The Moody Blues are my favorite band next to The Beatles. Long Live The Moodies.

I think of my cousin who had 4th stage lung cancer in the hospital. He turned 64 in the hospital October 18th. The day after, his youngest sister took him off of life support. My mom and I saw Justin in concert a few weeks after. All I could do was cry.
    😢😇🥺

I love this song, this was my introduction to Justin Hayward and the Moody Blues. I got to see him live in two two in Brighton and was so disappointed that he left the stage so soon. ❤️

One of my top songs of all times from any artist! The words flow making a picturesque scene. I loved it back in 1981 when I first heard it and it sounds great 40 years later. Never get tired of the song, music, lyrics and Justin!

What a genius, and a modest one. I wish the whole group was performing again at Ravinia. I can still go the concert in my mind. Fantastic.

Back in the late 70's and into the 80's I remember chasing this song and trying to find it on an album. I finally found a copy of The War Of The Worlds with the narration by Richard Burton which was fantastic but I wanted just the song.
Finally found it on a Best Of The Moody Blues CD in the 90's, and still love it to this day. It just sparks so many emotions and feelings. It's a beautiful piece of work, and stands the test of time.
Each time I hear it, it just reminds me of the first time I heard it.
