Bruce lee once said “ if a man starts on you verbally making threats , punch him in the mouth before he finishes his last word because if he wanted to really and truely beat you up he would of done so “

F word to the freedom of speech. Good advice from Bruce Lee himself.

Does anyone else do mental image training? Like meditating on and imagining combat situations?
Absolutely. Practicing scenarios in your mind is great conditioning. Besides, it’s a huge boost in confidence.
I used to and I stopped because I thought It was useless... but now that I see that I was not the only, then I guess I'll try the mental image one more time.
Yo I do it every time
Do it all the time. Maybe I should start practicing what I imagine...
@@hidinginyourcloset I second that...
Mirrors, training equipment, videos, books on street fighting technics and motivation is all that needed.
DragonWarrior All you just said is great to aid your training but you should get an instructor to teach you the techniques, they have experience and can tell if your movements or techniques are wrong and can teach you it correctly.
@@ninthkaikan1544 this is in terms of home training. We all know that an instructor is essential for our knowledge in martial arts. But sometimes not everyone has the privilege to learn from a instructor in person, so that would be a reason why some individuals are watching this video.
@@Samuel-ck2jw That's exactly why I'm watching this video
Mirrors especially
@@ninthkaikan1544 yeah...but there are people that can't afford an instructor...so the things i mentioned are better than nothing.
Martial arts is a way to move around for looking cool

Tsunami 12 niceeee man niceee
Nice
Its gonna be over in 2 years
Finally i stopped my dads belt
Jacob Original congrats
Now the next step is to disarm him and hit HIM with the belt
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Aw that's great...your dad must've been pissed off
Nice job stopping the belt, how did you stop the metal part afterwards?
I don't have a mirror that covers my entire body. So i just set my phone up in a position where it can catch my whole body and start recording hours of footage of me training. To then later carefully watch the footage to try and correct myself from it. This is what i suggest doing if u don't have a long mirror.
A tall window can also work, provided the lighting works in your favour, your shadow can also be somewhat effective if you haven't a mirror or windows.
ALERT : Remember the one whom you want to knock out might also learning from this video..
I didn't think it would be possible! Once again, Sifu, you open my eyes. I am in recovery from very recent ACL surgery and was hoping to incorporate martial arts in my strengthening program. We are so blessed by your many gifts.
TaraShea well done. Keep up your strengthening and practice.
Are u practicing martial arts at home
I've been practicing Wing Chun on my own for around a month now. And I just wanted to say thank you, your videos have been a big help for me.
im here because a cool anime scene motivated me to wanna be strong💀
Tbh, martial arts being cool is only part of it, once you get into it it's too fun to stop lmao
Bro same-
Same lmao
@@mura_saki so what you’re saying it’s like a hobby and addiction
Same I was watching a garou battle from one punch man
Great advice. I also think that people should use their phones to film themselves from different angles. That way if they are using videos or books they can compare how they are moving to the teaching materials they are using. The one thing people should always remember is in real life when you need to use your Marshal Art techniques, there is no time to think what am i going to do or ill do this and then that. You are then just reacting, you are using something known as No Mind or Wuxin.
Mushin (mental state) 'Mushin' in Japanese and 'Wuxin' in Chinese (無心 "no mind") is a mental state. Zen and Daoist meditators are said to reach this state, as well as artists and trained martial artists. They also practice this mental state during everyday activities. The times where on the street i had to use what i know i just reacted and it flowed out of me just right. The real test is always how you will react when you have to actually use it. I believe when you are a beginner a bit of doubt is natural. But then you realize when it happens it just flows out of you. That mental muscle we teach our bodies is very important as we are practicing.
Sometimes when i talk to people about this i mention driving. Remember when you first learned you were checking this and that but now after so many years you are just doing it without any direct thought of what you do next. Thats how Martial Arts is done. The movement has a flow to it. Its almost like a dance when done right but very effective in the end. Another thing i think people should do i learn how to meditate and release stress and tension from anywhere you might have from the mind, body and soul. This should be done as often as possible and can be done in many places.
You could be getting ready to go into an important meeting. Just step aside for a few minutes somewhere quiet and meditate. Have yourself release any stress or tension you might be feeling and relax. In a meeting things can get very tense sometimes and even stressful. But if you can control you emotions and stress levels you can come out of the meeting more successful then allowing events to have you create an emotional reaction which takes you into the wrong direction.
I'm reminded of someone who once asked a question, "What is meditation like?" and the answer "Its like coming home". Theres no place like home. The place we go to retreat to after a busy day where we can relax and leave the day behind us if we need to. A place we call our own as well as the environment we create for us to enjoy.
Hey Dan congratulations for your CZcams Channel , thanks for helping us have a new perspective of life, creating a strong mindset to achieve the target

I remember when I was a kid and I had a martial art teacher. One thing that he told us over and over was that Karate is a discipline first, and a way to fight secondly.
I get motivated after watching karate kid (2010)
I got motivated after watching bloodsport and kickboxer with van damme

I train in martial arts at home. If your wondering what to expect, look at some videos I made, I'm not the best, but I also don't think I'm the worst. I don't train in wing chun though, I'm more into the karate side of things.
Great advice Dan and Sifu Octavio. I would add to also take advantage of live-streaming classes- that’s how you can get feedback when you don’t have a teacher nearby. Our students are all over the world, but can meet in the virtual dojo. Great video Gentlemen! Thank you 🙏
I've been self training and watching these Sifus' videos for a long time, the first to train is to sharpen your mind then all else will follow
Perfect timing with this video, I was about to sign up to do kickboxing locally, but it costs loads, and I was thinking about doing it at home.
Stay healthy, sifu! Really learned a lot from your videos! Thank you.
Thank you so much I sent you a message like this on Instagram and I'm really glad you make these videos I once almost got jumped behind a building I convinced the guy I didn't mean to look at him I hated that guy but after that I never wanted to be like a deer in headlights so I started watching your videos and i never beleved in my self and was too scared to do anything but after watching your videos it changes everything I can now stand infront of a crowd and I believe in my self thank you so much of everything and all your videos
That's the same kind of windows I have in my basement , LOL . Bruce Lee training is that of legends . Everyone See's him in the movies kick ass , but you never see his training . There are some great video about Mr Lee interview on CZcams he was a smart dude .

Thank you for your advices! I've just begun training myself kung-fu again but am unable to find a kung-fu sifu available or a training center in my neighborhood. Your advices are helpful for me. I hope I can find a teacher soon.
Im new to the idea of learning a martial arts. I have recently decided to commit to my beginning. However my inspiration is to become self aware of what boundaries are and how far past them i can push.

Good video dude this means a lot to me
Very cool. I do do some moves but not as serious as you seem to be. Nice video!
Dan, thank you for this video. Chie chie ni! Thank you to Octavio. It is very hard to train alone. Still I would recommend to try what Sifu Yip Man invented. You know this wood device that Bruce used too. It is very useful but in the long run, it is better to have a training partner. The knowledge can be learnt through videos. The practice is another story.
that was me as a kid and teen. Alot of stuff to hit on and practising daily. Now I'm 41 and want to get back started but after 20 years, I'm no longer in shape but still can throw some kicks.
_great video dan as always_
This video was ahead of its time
Great video Dan , my current situation has left me with no time for anythis but am hopeful that will change soon so I can get back to training , but its true , pushups are great and conditioning is important , the only chance I get to test my skills is when someone attacks me out in the world , and to be honest , no one has tried that with me in over 2 years I think , so this video reminded me to not forget about the subject , thanks again , I must say you make a lot of great videos !
Thanks for sharing. I remember trying the paper technique. Lol
Thank you Masters!!!
“Yea the heavy bag is heavy “ 😂
Hi Dan. Maybe you can make a video for us, of a common day of your life, since you wake up, until you go to sleep. Have a good day!
Maybe Gil.
We share the same passion sir. I'm here to support you. Godbless
Good episode for beginners how to train yourself
The paper drill helped me a lot...
Love the channel
Sorry if I'm late to this this should be helpful I'm going to do martial arts from now on
I wish this video was upload years ago. RIP finger. Luckly nothing happened with my wrist. So yeah i learned the hard way those tips. Thanks for uploading these tips to help other alone starters.
Great video. Would love to see a vid of you sparring with a mma fighter!
I'm unfortunately one of those people that does not have a Sifu around. So I work out and practice my wing Chun out side with a smooth tree to condition my bones as well. I love the videos gives me inspiring stuff to work on good stuff guys 👍
Thanks, now I can join the tojo clan
I am martial artist and I like your video
I need this for walking at night
Thank you Mr Dan
I don't have a training equipment or either the space to doing my martial arts training. But keeping in mind of all the foundations you learned in how you can advance yourself. Like basic strength training, stretching, drills, combination, stikes, and kicks. You just need to reflect upon it. Even if I am not a JKD student, I am okay in fill-contact karate. Just the question of *How* will you train under a lockdown without coach around. Do me a favor and keep my words, you are the best student your master can have.
I wonder if Dan Lok knows where I can get martial arts equipment I'm sure he sells it he's really tuff and he's a really neat guy he wouldn't rip no one off
Thank you so much 😊
Just imagine a imaginary enemy, fight and beat him in imagination ,help him and become his friend so that you can train with him in future in your imagination
Lol
I'm lucky, my friend has experience with martial arts (black belt taekwondo) and he is willing to assist me in Kung fu practice.
How's that going?
And now?
What's now?
Cool video thanks man.
Hi Dan. I train in jkd in the UK. I'm wondering do you have a video on intercepting the first punch, ie the jab. Of course it's all about footwork and then apply the dicup or stop hit on impact and step and slide back afterwards but the question is how to read your oppent on knowing when to avoid getting hit. Really enjoy your videos. 👊
Its very difficult to train alone because you have to be both student and teacher, you have to know the right technique and then correct yourself when you mess up. A BIG point that i can stress is keep it realistic i've seen a lot of people get lost in their head and think they'll be a kung fu master landing like 7 or 8 strikes, no. Keep in mind how people would react and practice simple, realistic combos visualising the enemy and their advances, attacks, defenses, etc. It always helps to spar when you can to keep your base truly centered in reality and its a good testing ground for techniques you might be practicing.
3 great tips TY
Love the into man
