@@lucylu3342 I’ve played MH since the Japanese Portable 2ndG and yes, I’d still say that Ninjala does collab better than MH in some area. Now, I’m not talking about the “amount” of collab stuff here, because MH has been around in Japan for ages and was able to build up its super impressive catalog of collab, and not just from popular anime but also all sorts of variety shows and even real life brands. However, I feel that they’ve never used a lot of their collabs to their full potential - as in they only took bits and pieces from each collab instead of getting the whole package. For example, they had a One Piece collab in MH4 and we had some really cool stuff like Luffy’s giant fists and Zoro’s 3 swords but no costumes, unlike Ninja that includes both the costume and the swords. MH also used to have lots of anime collab that they simply cut out when localising the games because of licensing issues but Ninjala was able to keep everything in. On top of that, Ninjala has emotes with really cool animation that captures the source material so well, it’s downright impressive! It adds so much to the quality of the collab and it’s these little things that I wish both MH and Splatoon would do as well. MH is getting there with Ryu layered skin and the Hadouken emote in World, and Akuma one that comes with special poses in Rise, but it’s still not as impressive as the emotes in Ninjala. Granted, MH also stepped up its collab and tried different things like collab monsters in World or how the Akuma costume actually change your attack animation, which I love so much. But that’s the problem, they don’t keep their collab quality consistent. They’d do cool things one time and just drop it, leaving fans wanting more. Ninjala may have less content at this point but it feels more consistent. Lastly, and this is my personal gripe, MH doesn’t seem to do anime collab anymore. You could see this change clearly starting with World where most of the collabs are with western games like the Witcher or HZD, in order for them to attract western audience and likely to save costs on licensing anime contents. With Rise that looks to go back to its Japanese roots and seemingly wanting to cater to the Japanese audience more, doesn’t have any anime collab either, which is such a shame as so many collab like Demon Slayer would fit so well with Rise’s settings and themes (and I know there’s “mod” but that doesn’t count). So yeah, that’s some of the things I like about collab in Ninjala and I wish that MH or other games like Splatoon could do the same. Having said that, Ninjala’s collab relies on gacha and micro transactions while stuff in MH are (mostly free), so that’s a real, real shame. But given that Ninjala is working off a free-to-play model, it just had to be that way…
